It's been a little quiet on the exciting edit and beauty releases front what with all the advent malarky but summer is drawing to a close and soon those autumn/winter releases and holiday edits will be popping up to tempt us.

I'm in Edinburgh! I'd like to try some Korean skincare but never know what brands are good. I've got a BoJ mask and I've tried the centella sheet masks but the rest is a mystery. I'll pop in sometime and have a good look.

i use this I find it gentle and really effective .

I watched a Dior purchase unboxing the other day. Whichever influencer it was had bought a case of lipsticks that then doubled up as a bag but she had got loads of really high value freebies with it - full size perfume, lipstick, body lotion and other stuff too.

Is this normal for Dior or was it because she was an influencer and/or in the US?

It was a seriously impressive haul and I was wondering if I was missing out by not ordering from Dior myself 😹

It wouldn’t have occurred to me to add things like paracetamol packs, and it’s great that various packets (ie from face masks) are accepted, I’ll definitely be recycling more now!

Too late to edit but let’s just say my restraint didn’t t last long. I really love the by Terry brightening serum and I’ve just finished my sample of it so with this having a full sized one in it was a no brainer for me and there are lots of I treating things to try.

Each country has it's own rewards system so they differ. It is a decent rewards programme though and I joined because I decided it was worth buying direct rather than buying stuff here and there across other retailers.

Word of warning though. I did end up buying more than I strictly intended once I was close to the next level. I'm now the proud owner of a very expensive face cleanser (which I love actually but that's beside the point).

@IlovePond I’ve had some freebies when ordering direct from Dior but not automatically- usually from a code added to the order or clearly visible at time of ordering.

Did anyone have any joy with SNK partial orders? I‘m a standard member but heard nothing since the first ‘some of your items have been dispatched’ email.

@Addictedtobeauty absolutely nothing despite numerous emails. I’m very unhappy.

I have always found SNK to be brilliant regarding stock management so have been in denial up to now. I’m waiting on the Sisley set. I don’t mind a refund or getting the set, just not enjoying this limbo.

I bought a Jo Loves candle for my friend’s bday. With it came several freebies. A full size shower gel, a mini candle and 2 little perfumes.

I received my SNK sale order today but it was missing the 2 SNK candles. I got the Neom candle and other bits I ordered so not too fussed as long as if the other 2 items are cancelled I get a refund without hassle

Boots app has randomly removed all my accumulated points and my Advantage card.

I have asked them to restore it but they keep asking for the last three digits. My card is online only, so no last three digits, they only apply to physical cards.

This is starting to make me feel dizzy. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You can call them to get the number. It's the dumbest of systems.

Everytime the app demands an update, you update and the "update me" popup never disappears, only way is to delete, reinstall, login in, and add card again. Gave up and deleted it. But I did do it once and got the number off customer services.

If you happen to have an iPhone, you might have it in your Apple wallet? I can see the full number of mine in there. How frustrating though! Boots seems remarkably bad at many aspects of tech

It’s my DM’s 81st birthday next week: she loves a nice beauty / skincare edit.

No point in spending 000s as she will put most away rather than use it….my stash habit is either genetic, or inherited! And she’s got a huge collection of random freebies she was given during cancer treatment last year. But she still really enjoys the fun of a nice new box or edit! I’d probably go for some new things (K beauty etc) vs established favourites like Clarins & Lancôme.

Any suggestions? Typing this it occurs to me that she would quite enjoys some of the fairy gwps if I don’t come up with something fancier!

@Fillybuster The Hearst beauty boxes make good gifts, they have a lot of products and you also get a magazine subscription if she’d like that.

For K beauty, the Boots K&J beauty box is still in stock. Skin Cupid also do a subscription box that you can buy on a one off basis and they are UK based so it would arrive in time.

I’m really tempted to get this as an advent - I have so many lovely old advent boxes for a Frankenstein.
I’m not excited by any of the BACs revealed so far, so it would scratch the advent itch at a great price point, and I could add a few bits and bobs to spice it up if necessary.

Thanks for the Boots app suggestions. Sadly, it’s not in my wallet and I joined a while ago.

I will keep trying to phone them to find a resolution.

@JoRaRaRa I just wondered if you had any joy with Space NK please? Out of desperation I tried ringing the deluxe line too but it said it was an incorrect number. Space Nk are disgraceful, can’t believe so many of us are without the items we have paid for.

It's very surprising as they've always been the best of the bunch previously.

Although I note also all the moving warehouse stuff earlier in the year meant their postage wasn't great for a while and the next day limitless pass wasn't being honoured.

I wonder if there are issues behind the scenes, staff cuts etc. it's not a great climate for higher end retailers (see HN).
