New thread and it's welcome to the roaring twenties beauty addicts!

It's been a little quiet on the exciting edit and beauty releases front what with all the advent malarky but summer is drawing to a close and soon those autumn/winter releases and holiday edits will be popping up to tempt us.

If you're new here welcome and hello and for everyone else nice to see you back on Mumsnet's most tempting thread series that you cannot ignore even if you want to. 😈😍😂

I was told they buy products for their business and the GWPs are a byproduct of that.

Oh that makes sense actually, as they do sell some individual items. I assume in that case they jumped on the 20% discount for the BACs and will probably use the £20 gift vouchers to buy other things to sell

Thelifeofawife · 07/09/2026 21:29

@OvaHere @26inprogress This is good to hear about the Tatcha Camellia oil, I received one as part of a set when I bought the Tatcha eye cream off eBay, it’s waiting in my stash for when my current cleansing balm finishes

A while back there was some discussion re the contents of the Face the Future edits. I seem to recall that one of the products in the Wellness one was Ancient and Brave collagen. I use that (and swear by it) and I was considering their mega bundle as it seems a fairly small amount for the extra products. Does anyone know what those are though? I like the idea of a surprise more than I like actual surprises...

FTF mega bundle thing

Edited

Mega bundle contains 3 other bundles- Hydration, Wellness & Perfect Hair. I think the Hydration bundle includes Votary Super Renewal Serum, Renew Me Face Mask and Germaine de Capuccini Hydro-Regenerating Treatment (7/ampoules). Not bought myself but items have been in previous bundles and price adds up. The Wellness bundlle is AB Collagen, Verden Herbanum Bath Oil and Sleep Spray as mentioned (I have bought this one). No idea what exactly in the Hair bundle but mentions Philip Kingsley+ Percy & Reed.

There is something rather counterintuitive about an oil cleanser. Probably all that those scary adverts in Jackie magazine warning me of the potential horrors of ‘oily skin’ 😱

A good oil cleanser is formulated to wash off cleanly, and is often recommended even for oily skin since its so good at breaking down the oil on the skin and in the pores also! Ive got incredibly dry skin myself but ive been using a japanese one for absolutely years, it takes the makeup off super easily and doesnt leave my skin stripped. Also mega affordable meaning i can spend more on the things that aren't washed straight off 😄

IDontHateRainbows · 07/09/2026 22:18

Best oil cleanser ive found is the medik8 lipid balance one. Its one of the few items I consistently repurchase.

fish1818181 · 07/09/2026 22:39

Speaking of Drunk Elephant, I just remembered the drama they had with skin ceuticals - which made me remember their patent expired last year. Has anyone found an alternative option that they like after they can copy the ingredients? SC is above my budget but would love to try it.

SunnyPinkMoose · 07/09/2026 22:43

I Swore by Emma Harding cleansing balm it smells like a spa treatment and I still love it but I got Tocobo in a Korean edit by boots and it is soo soooo good . Gentle no aroma and gets my stubborn mascara off without removing my eyelashes ! Love it . I have about eight cleansers from various edits but when they are done this will be my re purchase .

Hi,

Has anyone ever ordered from www.Koreanskincare.com?

If so, what was it like?

They seem to be based in the Netherlands but selling Korean products.

I’m wondering as I can see they have a calendar this year.

Thanks

IlovePond · 08/09/2026 09:26

I was just having a look on the Liberty website vainly searching for something to spend my BD money on.

I am really surprised by how little stuff Liberty actually stocks - very few bags, awful flat shoes and trainers that I can’t wear, (poorly foot), terrible clothes 😿 Fabric holds zero interest for me.

Tbf, I quite liked a couple of the jumpers, but not at £695 or whatever they were 😿

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a couple of decent edits like the Sleep one, which was excellent. I think the summer scents one is good value but I suspect I wouldn’t like most of the perfumes in there.

Is there another BD members Rewards week in October?

If so, I might just buy some more HG eyeshadows as I am actually getting through the ones I have! I could then save the rest of my credit for a good edit.

Failing that, I can see me just buying the a/c, (despite disliking it), and selling half the contents at a fiver each on eBay and having done with it all!

LoveLabradors · 08/09/2026 09:29

@IlovePond that’s why I gave up on the beauty drop. Became less impressed with the contents, poorly packaged items, the GWPs got worse, so much beauty was out of stock and as the credit built up I ran out of things I wanted to/could spend it on!

IlovePond · 08/09/2026 09:43

So true @LoveLabradors - I don’t know why I just assumed the calendar would be ok!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a 20% off beauty offer at some point so I can at least buy some new HG eyeshadows, (a purchase I can just about justify!)

ClutteredPalace · 08/09/2026 09:43

@IlovePond you're right about Liberty, I wish Harrods would do their own version of the Beauty Drop as I can usually find something on there I want so credit with them would be far more useful to me. I did love the summer scent edit Liberty did but agree, if you don't want the calendar or some nice fabric there isn't much else to choose from.

Yes, I've ordered from them once and was really pleased with them, quick delivery and a good variety of freebies too. Also interested in their AC btw! 😁

IlovePond · 08/09/2026 09:46

Thanks @Peachbubble

Hi @IlovePond I bought the advent after initially dismissing. It arrived at the weekend and I love it! I actually like 6 of the 8 perfumes which was a shock! Maybe try some of the perfumes and see? Otherwise I think there is a members week in October.

Twinsandsome · 08/09/2026 09:59

@IlovePond incase you have blue light liberty do it and it works alongside BD credit. I wish I had the same problem of too much credit for them haha I love Diptyque candles etc so I can always splurge on there x

IlovePond · 08/09/2026 10:01

Sadly @26inprogress - I have tried all the perfumes and the only one I like is the ex Nihilo, (which I like a lot), and I don’t mind the 01Molrcules. The rest smell vile on me 😿

I am glad you like it, though - I think the box and bag are nicer than last year’s.

Fingers crossed for October Members’ Week!

IlovePond · 08/09/2026 10:03

@Twinsandsome - BL!!! I am both pleased and annoyed with myself that I did not know this before 🙈🙈🙈

Thanks

IlovePond · 08/09/2026 10:11

@Twinsandsome - I just tried BL but the code wouldn’t work at the Liberty checkout.

Did you do the 4% gift card thingy?

Thanks

Edited to say: I think it should have worked according to the T&C and I tried a few things not just the a/c. I might go in and ask them as I was planning a trip there anyway.

SummerLimes · 08/09/2026 10:22

I don’t think you can apply BL if already on offer.
Also not sure if it works with the kits when BD members get 10% off?

IlovePond · 08/09/2026 10:26

I tried it on lots of things @SummerLimes but maybe that’s it - I wasn’t getting a discount because of BD!

That’s a shame as BL discount is actually 15%.

Oh well, never mind!

JoRaRaRa · 08/09/2026 10:41

Can you get BL at Liberty on normal things? I'm looking to use my credit to buy some trainers.
