New thread and it's welcome to the roaring twenties beauty addicts!

It's been a little quiet on the exciting edit and beauty releases front what with all the advent malarky but summer is drawing to a close and soon those autumn/winter releases and holiday edits will be popping up to tempt us.

If you're new here welcome and hello and for everyone else nice to see you back on Mumsnet's most tempting thread series that you cannot ignore even if you want to. 😈😍😂

Which fairy are you using please, i cant see any of these available at the moment and am curious! Thanks ☺️

Sorry only just seen this. They had 1 edit on vinted. I messaged if he had 2. He said he did but vinted kicked him off when showing more than one and he mentioned the whats app group which I was already in so i ordered from there. Saves on vinted charges as well 🤩

Doglover73 · 07/09/2026 10:58

Decree was in one of the ftf edits. Ill try and look later but have to go out shortly. It says its combined from 3 previous edits x

For anyone who has tried the Prequel Gleanser, is it actually any good? I’m mulling over a SNK order.

Not in my opinion. It was worse at removing makeup than my usual Clinique balm cleanser and even the Pixi EOD oil (cheaper), and it was a bit too greasy for me. I think it broke me out (although it may have been the SPF I was using at the same time, but either way it should have removed that).

@OvaHere are you very pale? I'm pretty fair and find the Swan palette very useable, even for work.

Edited

Yes, deathly pale. 😂It's kind of okay with a very light touch but I tend to reach for the Dragon one which is more suitable for my skin tone.

Maybe use the swan as more of an eyeshadow palette 😀 I kept creating a sunset eye look with mine this summer.

I think Fairy should start giving us commission 🤣

I only bought one of the bags with the peptides in, as I’ve so many serums that I need to use up. I suspect I’ll cave and buy more at some point. I ended up buying 5 of the edits with the C-tetra in 😅

Doglover73 · 07/09/2026 19:55

There is something rather counterintuitive about an oil cleanser. Probably all that those scary adverts in Jackie magazine warning me of the potential horrors of ‘oily skin’ 😱

I love an oil cleanser - but the skin on my face is dry. Now my hair is greasy and hair oil gives me the heebie-jeebies!

OvaHere · 07/09/2026 20:10

I'm not the biggest fan of oil cleansers but I have a few to use up. At the moment I'm using a Medicube pink one - not impressed with this one, it's very thin and watery like.

My favourite is Tatcha Camellia Oil. I'd always choose a balm in preference to an oil but I do like this one.

Hair oil always sounds very 1950s. Mine was very greasy until I lived in Bondi for a year, That definitely dried it out. And @OvaHere I love Camellia’s, that sounds rather lovely.

I discovered camellia oil on my recent holiday when I used a sample. Really loved it and def going to buy some when rest of my stash used up!

I’m using the Haruharu Wonder cleansing oil from last year’s Boots skincare advent at the moment. It’s pretty good, gets make up off easily and washes off cleanly.

SummerLimes · 07/09/2026 20:31

I think the superfacialist oil is good but do prefer a balm. The Byoma on the Boots AC last year was good but not as good as Elemis.

Addictedtobeauty · 07/09/2026 20:37

Definitely love a balm cleanser over an oil. Just feels right. My surprise favourite is a Body Shop one- Cammomile cleansing butter. The tin annoys me but the product is fantastic.

LoveLabradors · 07/09/2026 20:45

Have we ever found out how the fairy and friend manage to have such large stock of CB GWPs?! It feels like a huge mystery!
And please can I have the link as now feel I’m missing out 😂
My Hearst double bundle arrived and for £116 it’s fab value. Not keen on the Liberty Oud though.

I love the Haruharu black rice toner. It’s so soothing.

I’m intrigued by the fairy too!

Someone on the advent thread said that all the retailers outsource the packing and dispatch of the advent calendars. I was wondering if it’s the same thing with GWPs/edits and the fairy has some connection with the company that does Cult Beauty’s for them.

Me too. I think it’s my favourite toner of all the ones I’ve tried.

I was told they buy products for their business and the GWPs are a byproduct of that.
