Very much based in my personal likes so wasn't expecting many of them, but some of these are no brainers to me based on previous calendar brands/launches in the past year 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't know how long ahead the brand deals have to be done on the advents - and Prequel may have preferred not to take part, of course.

From Caroline Hirons's Insta, I get the impression that taking part in advents can be a hassle for brands, though Skin Rocks is in at least 2 this year IIRC.

I believe it's £130 or £125 if you sign up to the waiting list. The Zelens b12 is worth that alone!

Think I am out on SNK which sadly was the one I was most looking forward to. I think the Elle BAC looks more appealing.

I thought someone said Elle was going to be closer to £200, it was £140 last year so can’t see it being any lower and it’s much better to last years.

Even though I flip flop daily at the moment I'm thinking of buying CB on release as they're offering a £20 gift card for anyone buying at launch plus I have a few reward vouchers which should bring it to around the £200 mark.

I'm cooling a bit on Vogue. I do like it but I've watched a couple videos of the LC Coin purse - it's cute and expensive but essentially a bit useless. The main draw is the jewellery and the EL Serum. If it was around the £250 mark I'd jump but the price point is up there.

I suppose a lot depends on what I actually buy from now as they start to launch. If I skip pretty much everything else maybe getting Vogue is fine. If I buy CB and Selfridges FAC not so much.

@Willow742 you have probably seen it but this Kayali set is in the SNK sale, plus GWP and has all those scents.

Do we know when the Elle BAC will be available to order for those on the waiting list?

It kept going on offer on the magazine subscribers page though. Something like £115 iirc. Loved last year's and didn't flipping get ut in the end. Don't like the look of this year's much at all.

LF & LF Fragrance / possibly Fenwick / Neom still top of my list so far.

Twas September 2nd last year iirc.

I like the look of the Elle especially at that price point , defo more I would use and re gift . Is there a link to a wait list ? Or have I missed the boat on that one ?

HN has been sold to the Fraser group. Sad day because we all know what the future will hold.

this may mean advent preorders will be safe however with how the Fraser group discount I would now be very reluctant to pay full price for anything.

Try to return anything in Hof is a nightmare . I can’t bear the man either . It’s sad and we have a HN in Bristol so it would have been handy if the BAC had been good . But it makes you wonder if they are doing one what will they put in ? More as they are in trouble or less high value items . It will be interesting but sad .

HN was my favourite last year. I’m hoping because decisions would have been made well before this man got his dirty mitts on it that it will be at their usual standard but I do think they will be heavily discounted as Christmas becomes closer and I know most people don’t like HN online deliveries but if Fraser group take over deliveries it will be poorly packaged via evri and almost impossible to return.

You just reminded me of the £39 in points I have, so just trawled their beauty stuff…it does have an air of a struggling business with lack of brands. I also looked at seed to skin and see they are unavailable for delivery and in store, as a “New brand” for them it does look like some brands have stopped selling goods through them, or I’m reading too much into it 🤷‍♀️ I’ve now used my credit on some shampoo and conditioner. I also was hesitant on some items, as wondered if they’re old stock.
Such a shame for a store that I remember was exciting to shop in once upon a time. Mike Ashley is the worse thing to happen to any business…was that film Greed based on him?

I think he was looking at closing some of the HN stores, but can’t remember which, or turn them into flannels or something equally rubbish.

Harvey Nichols were making loses since 2019, so there weren’t many keen buyers. While I don’t support Mike Ashley, I am glad HN wasn’t forced into administration and they were saved by this deal.

I shop at HN only when they have GWP and even then prefer to shop online. In our store, sales assistants are at every 10 steps, and each of them feel the need to approach you because they’re bored. As an introvert, I want to run. I feel much more at ease (invisible) when shopping at Selfridges 😁

HN has some wonderful brands and some of the best GWPs, hope they’ll survive Mike. And fingers crossed for their BAC & FAC reveals soon 🤞

It looks like I'll be missing out this year - I was assuming I'd get SpaceNK because last years was so great, but I'm not impressed with this one at all (assuming it's accurate). I've looked at a couple of others but they all have too much makeup and perfume for me when I want skincare and hair stuff.

Still, it means I've saved £275 I can spend on something else.

Ugh. I think it's been mentioned previously but HoF in Manchester has been decimated, it's old, tired and somehow feels really forlorn. I wonder if Harvey Nicks will go the same way 😩.

Honestly, I think we need a campaign to bring back classy department stores!
