I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up. This is not working out so well. 😂

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.
It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

I’m also not excited by the JL calendar. Relieved to be able to rule another one out.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it ends up being discounted though. JL usually make loads of calendars, and I can’t see it being super popular at £250

Any tips for the recycling? I took some bits to my local store, found the recycling bin, then chickened out 🫣 do you need to photograph them in advance?

Liberty are bombarding me with emails practically begging me to order the calendar!

@mooshkymoo - you take pictures in advance and get the products approved. Then go to the Boots recycling point and scan the QR code. Then select what you are recycling, then chuck it all in the box.

Your coupon should arrive straightaway. Then you go to the till with £10 worth of goods, scan them and add the coupon. Once you’ve paid the £5 in reward points should add to your balance.

I wish I had started doing this ages ago as I spend loads in Boots anyway!

The only downside is that I still have about forty items ready to recycle, with more to add. I am glad I am recycling previously unrecyclable stuff, but it is making me realise just how much plastic I get through!

Yes. Before you go to store, you download the recycle at boots app. Then you upload your recyclables snd wait for them to be approved. Once approved, go to store, scan the QR code at the recycling point, choose the 5 items you are depositing from your approved list and when deposit is approved, chuck them in. You have to spend £10 to use the points voucher that is issued, and you have use it on the same day.
Honestly, it sounds worse than it is/ it’s worth doing if you buy stuff in boots anyway. I usually buy things like toothpaste, hairspray etc

I am liking the look of JL fragrance advent and pleased that I now have a potential commiseration prize when I invariably miss Harrods next week

Me too! I bought and liked last years but then was looking for a beanie and liked the jewellery. Some of the skincare was not what I would expect in a Vogue calendar - Beauty of Josean for example

It does seem continually and much more marketing than usual. I wonder if the preorders are less than expected?

It always sells out by late Sep/Oct. Liberty is still on the table for me but I want to see what others are offering first. They probably get a rush of orders when it first goes on sale but most will be hanging on to see what the other large retailers are going to reveal.

I haven't ordered it yet, partly because I want a bit more beauty drop credit and partly because I don't want to store it any longer than I have to.

There really isn’t a benefit for pre ordering either and I think people want to see what the other offers are before deciding. I will be ordering Liberty’s because it’s a great fit for me but because you can’t select a delivery date and I might be on holiday depending on when they send it I need to wait until September to order. However, it is unusual the amount of emails I’m getting about the advent and it does make me wonder if the preorders are less than normal or maybe they have upped their marketing this year.

CB early access starts on the 2nd September. So I’m assuming a drip feed of the contents over the next month.

I hate the drip feeds. I'd rather just wait for a specific date and have a full reveal.

Very disappointed with the JL fragrance AC. Only 12 offerings and not much that grabs me.
The LF fragrance was er, fantastic last year, 24 drawers with the final one being a full-sized Jo Malone.
