Beauty & Fragrance Advent Calendars- Info/Chat 2026 SPOILERS

Hi everyone who is joining from the Beauty GWP chat threads and welcome to anyone else.

Last year our lovely @BakeOffRewatch did an amazing job running all the threads through to December. This year due to the time commitment it takes, we're going to try and run them as a community effort.

Guidelines
I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up.

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.

It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

It probably goes without saying but please be courteous and patient with each other. This thread will have spoilers and please no judging of others for their purchasing choices. Participation in the threads is optional.

I don't know how well this will work out but thanks in advance to everyone who helps out.

I think a few of us on the waifs and strays last year heard about this one, it came up on my Instagram today and looks like pre-orders close on Wednesday.

https://www.glosters.co.uk/products/advent-hamper

I missed this last year. I like the sound of some of the contents, but it seems expensive (I don't know the brand so happy to be told otherwise) I wouldn't be happy with 1 of the doors in particular! Not sure how to mark a spoiler!

@mooshkymoo I think it will be oud heavy. I am hoping if fdb is in the calendar then it's not rude cherry, but part of me thinks it will be. I'd much prefer sirene. I do like oud fragrances and don't mind some being in it, but I'd like a few more feminine leaning fragrances this year.

@MidnightMeltdown did you keep the others? The only one I didn't like was the nishane, it smelt like a dirty cat litter tray to me 🤣 it quickly sold on vinted though. I love all those 3 you mention, so it ended up being a good buy for me.

@pinkchampagne1 did you buy the scent tote? If so, what do you think to the rude oud elixir?

I think I also sold the Creed and then kept the others. I I liked Sand and Skin, Roja and Gris Charnel best. It was just a bit annoying that I didn’t like the ones that came in the big fancy bottles!

ClutteredPalace · 13/07/2026 11:12

Having now tried the scent tote, it's making me want the calendar even more. I'm wearing the fdb rude oud elixir today and absolutely love it. If the tote is any indication of the type of fragrances in the calendar, it would be a huge hit with me.

Temple Spa advent calendar launching 1st August for £225 - I don't love the brand but I know others on S+B do!

If I tried to sell one of those perfumes, I would get people offering me a fiver 🙈

Liberty BD bag en route, apparently. They have one last chance to impress me…

Caggie09 · 13/07/2026 16:03

I actually sold my Rude Oud yesterday from the Harrods Frag AC. I thought i would use it, but the scent just isnt for me. I did give my partner a couple, and the rest i have used.
I also hope it's not Oud heavy this year.

MidnightMeltdown · 13/07/2026 16:07

I generally prefer lighter, more subtle scents, so Space NK Fragrance is usually more up my street than the heavy stuff in Harrods. Not as good value though!

MidnightMeltdown · 13/07/2026 16:11

Mind you, Parfums De Marley Valaya wasn’t that strong but it still smelt absolutely revolting on my skin!

@HollyGolightly4@MrsBnow12, I have bought several things from Glosters, lovely handmade ceramics

They are. 😻 I have signed up for Jo Malone and I saw it on Instagram, so worth following your favourite there too.

JoRaRaRa · 13/07/2026 22:22

Urgh! The Sephora description is:
Sold out 4 years in a row, even better for 2026. Expect 41 treats, a whopping 27 full sizes + lots of exclusives.

The only issue when they put loads of products in, there's usually a lot of crappy, filling in products that are really cheap. I'd rather have less products that are worth more. Maybe I'm just being a neggy nelly though 🤣

Same, last years Space Nk was so good- I bought two. Loving the Malin & Goetz Strawberry and Fico Di Amalfi in the summer, not there were many others I am enjoying. It was hit for me.

PDM use too much molecule type of proprietary ingredients that I didn't get on with in many of their perfumes, including valaya. The exclusive is better buy I wouldn't buy it

I am the same. I would prefer fewer quality products than lots of little bits that don’t really interest me. I know Sephora is a popular calendar but it has lacked any wow products for me the last few years.

I did buy a few things from the Sephora calendar for my Frankenstein, but if I remember rightly, it was mainly due to someone selling a load of it off cheap and I've since resold them. I do have the medik8 retinol eye cream still which I can't wait to try. I also bought the merit blush thingy too, I might use that today, it's been a while. I've been using the WA one from the snk calendar recently to do a no makeup look. I really like how it's not heavy on the skin.

I bought the Drunk Elephant vitamin C serum that was included in last year’s calendar. The Medik8 eye cream looked good too but I was swimming in eye cream at the time! There were a couple of nice bits but there was more in there that didn’t interest me, even though it seemed packed with lots of products. I love Harrods for the luxury items, even though there are less double doors than other advents.

Yes same. I love that Harrods gives us a chance to try stuff we would never be able to blind buy. I'm probably going to get Harrods again this year, unless it's horrendous. I really don't need anything, in fact, I'm thinking of selling off a load of stuff that I don't think I'll ever get round to using so small pots of luxury will be good for me this year 🤭

Edited

Oooh, I’ve got the Malin & Goetz strawberry but haven’t opened it yet as I’m trying to use up some others first.

I’m not too keen on any of the PDM scents that I’ve tried. The best one is Delina. I got a bottle in a Harrods calendar a few years ago and often get compliments when I wear it (DP likes it!), but even that isn’t something that I would buy. It’s too sweet/little girly for my taste, but lot of people seem to like it.

Agree, the last time I bought it was in 2023 and got use out of most of it. (Although two red lippies and red nail Polish was annoying) haven't fancied it since so it would need to really wow me this year to be a contender. I'm looking woth hope towards Cult and Space NK

CountryCob · 14/07/2026 19:50

I think it is tricky with the perfumes, would rather a few generous sample or handbag sizes mixed in as its very hit and miss and no where near a store to try them out. I do want to try new ones but have an expensive full size from last year I barely use as its not totally me.

Batsratscatsgnats · 14/07/2026 21:37

Why don't you sell it if yiu dont wear it?

CountryCob · 15/07/2026 07:50

Because I opened it to smell it x

You can still sell it as long as you let the buyers know it’s been tested. EBay allow this. It’s a little trickier on Vinted, so you need to get the wording right on there.
