I’m broke, what can take the place of Botox?

FloodlightsOnTheSquare · 27/06/2026 21:07

I’ve been getting my 11s, forehead, and crows feet done for about 3/4 years, usually every 7-8 months.

But now I’m broke, and my crows feet in particular are beginning to bother me, and my left eyelid feels a bit droopy and uncomfortable.

Is there anything that remotely compares? I can’t use tret, i have eczema and my skin can’t take it.

Does anyone have any ideas? Please?

Hide your mirrors.

There is no honest way to get around ageing.
unfortunately you will need the money to see any drastic changes.

I use Nip + Fab peptide fix oil and get lots of compliments. I recommended it to my friend and she has cancelled her Botox. It might just help her go longer between but she’s definitely impressed.

Hide your mirrors.

That won’t stop other people seeing my wrinkly chops 🤣

Thank you for this, I’ll look into it 😊

Nothing can do what Botox can do unfortunately

The Ordinary's Argireline. Known as 'botox in a bottle'. Great for dynamic lines. It's gentle enough for me to use in my eye socket too and after about a month, I've noticed my more hooded droopy eye is less noticeable.

Foreo Bear or similar

No one except you cares.

FloodlightsOnTheSquare · 27/06/2026 21:17

Well I don’t get it for other people so that’s fine

Accept you're getting older, disown the unrealistic beauty standard and stop caring what other people think of your looks.

Radical acceptance of your wrinkles as part of the story of your life.

Collagen

Why can't we all just age naturally and gracefully? Botox etc removes character and 'a life lived' from your face. Why would anyone do that?

Oh please don’t turn this into one of those threads. There’s plenty of them. This one is not about that.

sadly I don’t think anything compares to Botox or tretinoin. However make sure you are using extremely high UVA protection in your spf to slow down further skin ageing (just because it spf 50 doesn’t necessarily mean it has high UVA protection)

I use La Roche posay uvmune 400 fluid, it has Mexoryl 400 filter which protects against ultra long uv rays too (other spfs may miss)

Because people think differently ? 🤷‍♀️

Decacaffeinatednow · 27/06/2026 21:24

None of them work really. If they did then nobody would get Botox

Yeah I know that really, but if something can help a bit I’ll try it. Gutted I can’t get Botox any more, I really felt healthy looking and fresh with it.

Definitely not botox alternative… however a may be worth adding is oral hyaluronic acid supplements

have a read through this paper:
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8308347/
Oral Hyaluronan Relieves Wrinkles and Improves Dry Skin: A 12-Week Double-Blinded, Placebo-Controlled Study

yes I know it’s not enough strong evidence but when you consider it’s cheap and HA won’t harm you why not use on top of usual routine
