Weird intimidating stares - what is it with clothes models about to duff you up behind the bike sheds (or worse)?

Collective marketing depts must have decided 'DIRTY LOOKS SELL CLOTHES'.

It's just so odd. Hush models are frankly terrifying. M&S has a hefty sprinkle of 'ard. Many of the Seasalt models look like you just pissed on their chips. Mint Velvet, cross. H&M, thoroughly pissed off. Even the White Stuff models look rather disappointed in you.

This is absolutely hilarious. Apparently quite a popular choice in the sale. Perhaps people are too terrified to refuse?

My daughter recently bought a dress and sent me the link to the website so I could see what she'd bought.

Every single model was straddling. The dress is assymetric, so I can only assume that they were told to look as though they were riding an invisible horse to try to make the hem look level (even though the assymetrical nature is advertised in the blurb). Maybe the photographer thought he'd been sent a dud dress? But it's disconcerting to see so many women standing like their horse has vanished underneath them.

I wonder if they were told to look insouciant and that is their wtf face.

The concept of it is actually really weird - I personally am put off by these hostile expressions and would much rather seeing happy models looking as though they actually like what they are wearing!

Ever since I clicked on it, the John Lewis swimsuit model has been following me menacingly round the internet 🤣

And yes, precisely. There is nothing remotely flattering about this. What's the sales pitch? "Buy this handbag that you can't see bc it's the same colour as everything else incl my boney spidey legs or the handbag you DO have has something nasty coming to it..."
