Does this swimsuit even exist?! Please help a frazzled swimmer out…..

I’ve lost a LOT of weight this year - about 5 and a half stone - and gone from a 22 to a 14. Clothes I’ve more or less got the hang of, but I CANNOT find a swimsuit, so I thought I’d throw myself at the mercy of MN.

Some key factors -

  • I have a profoundly disabled child. I need to be able to lift him and handle him, so nothing too low, and nothing I might fall out of!
  • I’m a 34G, so it must have some kind of boob support
  • I have quite a bit of excess skin in the belly apron area, so I need something where the legs aren’t cut too high, and this seems to be where I fall over - all the supermarket ones and M&S ones seem to come too high up and risk the skin rolls poking out…
  • CANNOT have complicated straps or tight tummy control that requires too long to get on - disabled child so needs to be something I can whip on and off.
  • Ideally not more than about £30 as I’m still losing weight so it’s a temporary fix.
  • I’d prefer plain/block colour to patterned as I’m still feeling quite self-conscious
  • No lumpy details or frills or a neck so high I can’t chuck a dress on over it and it not look weird

I know that the lands end tugless suit is basically the holy grail here, but it’s just too expensive right now, and also perpetually sold out in anything but mumsy florals…..

I'm a big fan of this one
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/womens-heva-1-piece-swimsuit-with-skirt-navy-stripes/335642/c364c351c281m8738087

I have a big chest and always bought bra sized but one day I had to buy an emergency suit and realised that some standard issue suits do have enough bust support (for me anyway) without being bra sized.

I buy in store where I'm an S at 30FF.

I also have a really long back and no tugging. The actual leg is really low under the skirt.

CornishPorsche · 30/05/2026 10:57

I'm a 38G and wear this:

https://www.tesco.com/shop/en-GB/products/322493136?sc_cmp=ppc

I'm also 7 stone down with a lot of loose skin and find this suit works well for me. It's not a built in bra, but the shape of the bodice area seems to work like a sports bra for me, especially with the zip!

ProfessorInkling · 30/05/2026 10:59

If you can stretch your budget, I would look at YouSwim where you don’t have to worry about sizing and the comfort is second to none. I have gradually bought a few different styles from them and ditched literally everything else I ever owned.

I know you said landsend tugless there’s a sale on (isn’t ghere always?) so £37.50 and in your size in plain black or navy. Code is LN4V

Fantasie twist front are fantastic. Yes they are expensive but worth it. Patterns are more flattering by the way! And hide lumps and bumps!

I've just bought this, I had to practice the neck clip but it's quick and easy to get on and I love this green.

I can't link because I haven't bought any this year, but I've got several next plunge style swimsuits which aren't too high cut in the leg and amazingly have enough boob space (am similar size and I've never been able to buy bra sized swimsuits because nowhere does then in tall).

They're not crazy expensive and seem to be lasting well.

I honestly can't get over how nice this costume is. I've had it 4 months and I swim 3 times a week and it still looks new
It comfortable and flattering.

I am slightly smaller of boob than you at ff but I just go with the compression power of Speedo- try https://www.speedo.com/women-s-endurance-medalist-swimsuit-black/13513682.html

Or maybe https://www.speedo.com/women-s-medley-logo-medalist-swimsuit-black-green/17468883.html but slightly lower at the front.

Boobs get squished down so no underwiring needed, mid leg rise and endurance material wears well and is fore giving. The racer back looks complicated but you just step in and hoik each side up.

Congrats on the weight loss. I've posted this so many times on MN, I should be getting shares from Matalan by now! I'm a 38H and size 20 and have never owned a suit that doesn't have underwire, but this holds me in place- no underwires. The shoulder straps are adjustable too. Its a tankini, but looks like a one piece when on with the benefit of being able to whip the pants off for the loo/quick on/off etc. I swim daily.

I have the high waisted pants but they don't look as high cut on me. They also have small shorts, bikini cut and used to have a skirted option too. The top is only £15 for great value too!

Have a look at decathlon, they have a few that might be ok and they're about your price point?

I have just got this one from next. Slightly over your budget but it has a slimming tummy and a built in skirt. Easy to pull on and off.

MummyWillow1 · 30/05/2026 18:37

Sounds counter intuitive but a bandeau suit with detachable straps is great for larger busts, there isn’t a scoop neck for them to escape from and the straps can be added when with your DC so they can’t accidentally flash you but you can ditch the straps if you want as well. Many have a bit of tummy control as well.

BeanMeUp · 30/05/2026 18:39

Im in a similar situation. I have a legsuit i want to say from bon prix. It has some tummy control, longer legs (mid thigh, hides my wobbly thigh tops!) and I feel very "held together" in it.

Mumandcarer80 · 30/05/2026 18:42

Well done a friend of mine is big busted. She always struggles to find a swimming cossie with support in. So what she usually does is wears a supportive bikini top under her costume if that would be an option. She is very slim everywhere else though like a size 8.

This one (and ive just bought myself another in a smaller size!)

MN didn't like the link formatting so hopefully this works!

Went swimming With my ASD/ADHD child today and just had a baggy t-shirt on over the top to get there, just looked like I was wearing cycle shorts

(Trying to include the link but it doesn't like it!)
