Does this swimsuit even exist?! Please help a frazzled swimmer out…..

I’ve lost a LOT of weight this year - about 5 and a half stone - and gone from a 22 to a 14. Clothes I’ve more or less got the hang of, but I CANNOT find a swimsuit, so I thought I’d throw myself at the mercy of MN.

Some key factors -

  • I have a profoundly disabled child. I need to be able to lift him and handle him, so nothing too low, and nothing I might fall out of!
  • I’m a 34G, so it must have some kind of boob support
  • I have quite a bit of excess skin in the belly apron area, so I need something where the legs aren’t cut too high, and this seems to be where I fall over - all the supermarket ones and M&S ones seem to come too high up and risk the skin rolls poking out…
  • CANNOT have complicated straps or tight tummy control that requires too long to get on - disabled child so needs to be something I can whip on and off.
  • Ideally not more than about £30 as I’m still losing weight so it’s a temporary fix.
  • I’d prefer plain/block colour to patterned as I’m still feeling quite self-conscious
  • No lumpy details or frills or a neck so high I can’t chuck a dress on over it and it not look weird

I know that the lands end tugless suit is basically the holy grail here, but it’s just too expensive right now, and also perpetually sold out in anything but mumsy florals…..

I’m on my second one of these and love them. I’m a 34 GG

I would suggest a Freya or similar Tankini top plus shorts bottoms - from eBay will be cheaper. You can just put it on under your normal clothes before you leave the house, it's fairly easy to take off.

Have a look on vinted for some of the pricier brands! I found a new with tags costume that was 79 new for 19 on there!

I've lost 5 stone and physically disabled so need something easy to get in and out of - I'd search for 'modest swimsuit rash guard' on Amazon then sort by price low to high, can usually find a bargain. I love zip front rash guard swimsuits with short arms and legs so everything is tucked away and hidden. I wear an old bra underneath if needed.

My other go to is a rash guard top with an old bra under it, if needed, and swim shorts. With UV protection gear I can even skip a lot of time spent struggling with sun cream on holiday. Wearing separates also means not having to rebuy every time your size changes.

Hope you find something you like that works for you.

I do what the lady directly above does! I’ve even got a swim catsuit off Amazon. It’s a game changer to exit the water and not to have to rearrange yourself.

I’m a 34H and bought this one below)and it did come from Australia despite saying it’s the U.K. site!) It was pricey (110, 30 postage) but I do a lot of swimming. There is an internal hook that you fasten which provides good support. Plenty just like this and much cheaper online.

I have this tankini top and a pair of swim shorts from Amazon. I need the boob support and it’s kinda loose over the tummy area. Doesn’t ride up in the water either.

Bravissimo is the answer but looks on Vinted as they're twice your budget new.

Bravissimo is the answer but looks on Vinted as they're twice your budget new.

eBay tends to be cheaper than Vinted for new bra-sized swimwear I find. I suspect it's old stock.

Zoggs Sandon is my go to. Not fancy but practical, moulded cups and bra shelf, some tummy support, not low cut on top and not high cut on leg. Good for actual swimming - im in multiple times a week.

Out of price range unless on sale but I now pick them up on vinted for about half of retail price (new with tags) which should be within budget - risky until you know whether it suits you though.

I wear Fantasie twist front swimsuits. I’m a size 34G too. I usually buy from Belle Lingerie as they have good reductions or on the Fantasie website in the outlet section (but they don’t often have 34G). Fantasie swimsuits are great for tummy control as well as for the bust. Don’t dismiss pattern - they have some pretty ones. I buy the plain ones too. I think you’ll have to up your budget to get a good fit tbh.

Is this one from Vinted any good?

I literally went through the same conundrum. Lost 5 stone and have big boobs like you - bravissimo! However appreciate it is beyond budget but the Cancun swimsuit is perfect - supports boobs. No hooks/straps. Holds stomach in and isn’t high on legs.

Alternatively Next do ones for big boobs online more for around £40-50

Given your bust size you’ll struggle on a £30 budget without them flapping around unsupported.

I have 2 of these, 1 navy and 1 black and they are perfect. I’m large chested and have a wobbly tummy and and over hang from c section and this hides that well

Another vote for a bandeau tankini top and some boy-leg shorts - lots of options on Amazon

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 31/05/2026 16:41

I'm exactly the same size as you, bra size and all, and I bought this

https://www.next.co.uk/style/su228109/w62606?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=9256171658&gbraid=0AAAAADm_5UW23SmGU-sFUCvwD6WT9JoYi&gclid=CjwKCAjwuO_QBhAWEiwAIkVhUxHw6T8TscNiPp5D2ZYrwT9unm0Z7lOqRUYvi6FfDYGLaWTpr6tQhhoC1vcQAvD_BwE

It is tummy control, but it's not at all difficult to pull on

likelysuspect · 31/05/2026 16:44

I wear a bra underneath a t shirt as the top as I cant not have a bra. I just have an old bra for this.

Reallyshouldputthephonedownnow · 31/05/2026 16:58

I've a similar body shape to you and I wore this on repeat on holiday last week, I'm sure it came in black too. It's not restrictive but very flattering, fitted the girls in without them popping out and the legs aren't high.

Vinted is your friend for the budget; bravissimo are excellent. I am similar bust size and like all covered; I really like Asda costumes too!
