Does this swimsuit even exist?! Please help a frazzled swimmer out…..

I’ve lost a LOT of weight this year - about 5 and a half stone - and gone from a 22 to a 14. Clothes I’ve more or less got the hang of, but I CANNOT find a swimsuit, so I thought I’d throw myself at the mercy of MN.

Some key factors -

  • I have a profoundly disabled child. I need to be able to lift him and handle him, so nothing too low, and nothing I might fall out of!
  • I’m a 34G, so it must have some kind of boob support
  • I have quite a bit of excess skin in the belly apron area, so I need something where the legs aren’t cut too high, and this seems to be where I fall over - all the supermarket ones and M&S ones seem to come too high up and risk the skin rolls poking out…
  • CANNOT have complicated straps or tight tummy control that requires too long to get on - disabled child so needs to be something I can whip on and off.
  • Ideally not more than about £30 as I’m still losing weight so it’s a temporary fix.
  • I’d prefer plain/block colour to patterned as I’m still feeling quite self-conscious
  • No lumpy details or frills or a neck so high I can’t chuck a dress on over it and it not look weird

I know that the lands end tugless suit is basically the holy grail here, but it’s just too expensive right now, and also perpetually sold out in anything but mumsy florals…..

I'm a big fan of this one
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/womens-heva-1-piece-swimsuit-with-skirt-navy-stripes/335642/c364c351c281m8738087

I have a big chest and always bought bra sized but one day I had to buy an emergency suit and realised that some standard issue suits do have enough bust support (for me anyway) without being bra sized.

I buy in store where I'm an S at 30FF.

I also have a really long back and no tugging. The actual leg is really low under the skirt.

I was about to post about this swimsuit. It is amazing for a busty person and very easy to get in and out of. I think they advertise it as ‘easy dressing’. I have just bought this very design as my previous one has unfortunately been destroyed by chlorine but I had it for 3 or 4 years.

Try looking for 'boyleg' swimsuits. They are normal swimsuits but the legs are shorts- so covers more of you up. I find them more comfortable than a typical swimsuit.

TotallyAddictedToCoffee · 02/06/2026 15:57

@PortSalutPlease I have this one:
Slazenger | LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ Boyleg Swimsuit Ladies | Boyleg Swimsuits | SportsDirect.com

I've lost 10st over the last 2 years following GS surgery, and I find this one is very flattering

Selkie33 · 03/06/2026 08:26

@PortSalutPlease these lands end tugless suits are currently on sale for <£30

lilibetspet · 03/06/2026 08:36

I wear the cheap ones from sports direct with the short legs and then wear shorts over the top. It doesn’t really have support for boobs but im large and after years of buy by expensive suits with support I had to buy a cheap one as an emergency one day as I forgot mine and it was perfect.

notatinydancer · 03/06/2026 09:08

I’ve got this exact same problem. Got one from Tesco in the end. Not perfect , still looking.

WhereTheWeatherSuitsMyClothes · 03/06/2026 09:49

Not sure if anyone else has said this as haven't read all the comments but I'd recommend physically going to a sports shop like Sports Direct, or maybe a slightly nicer shop if you have a choice where you live, and having a look at proper sporty functional swimsuits where you can see more easily how long/high the leg is or how deep the plunge or how wide the straps, they have a lot more functional non revealing and not whatever the current trend is, swimsuits that might work for you.

Congratulations on the weight loss too, what an achievement!

MontyDonsBlueScarf · 03/06/2026 11:24

If you find a suit that looks good but is too expensive, try Vinted. A few people at my pool have recently shown up with excellent new swimsuits that they bought brand new with tags for under £10.

I honestly can't get over how nice this costume is. I've had it 4 months and I swim 3 times a week and it still looks new
It comfortable and flattering.

This one's lovely

If you can stretch your budget, I would look at YouSwim where you don’t have to worry about sizing and the comfort is second to none. I have gradually bought a few different styles from them and ditched literally everything else I ever owned.

I looked at these youswim swimsuits and to me they are the ugliest swimwear I have seen in a long time. Even the people wearing them on the website look bad in them. They must be unbelievably comfortable and I take your word that you love them but I cannot get over how awful they look. I will not be spending money on them anyway and I’m a sucker for a good review.

I just looked too. They're awful. None of them cover minge properly and the bikinis show areola.

These one piece tankinis from decalthon have been amazing for me. Love them.

Justamum36 · 04/06/2026 07:37

Would something simple like this work? I’m sure Nike/adidas have quite a few plain swimsuits. Not sure about the bust support mind as I’ve always had the opposite problem and look flat in most swimwear 🤣🤣🤣🤣www.sportsdirect.com/adidas-colorblock-c-back-swimsuit-354663?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=22162904595&cq_term=&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&cq_con=&cq_med=pla&cq_pos=&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22173120889&gbraid=0AAAAA9YIuADtM-saJGSt7r9RYdTzNuhPk&gclid=Cj0KCQjwof_QBhCgARIsADaMzOeoyQBLA7xVHHlLC3U75Ot4P9-pjK0ipVhdh_U7Z8gJUPhg6x5U5hoaAq2PEALw_wcB#colcode=35466303

Try boy leg bottoms with a short sleeved rashie top. Wear a bikini top underneath which you can put on at home making changing quick.

Janie934 · 04/06/2026 09:49

SimplyBe have some longer length swimsuits by Magisculpt that are great for covering up the tummy area.

Possibly out of budget but I'm also loving Pour Moi swimsuits recently.

You may also find that tankini's are easier to find a good fit as you can mix and match different tops and bottoms.

I’m trying to work out what they have that makes them £156 because they look no different to a Primark costume, it’s certainly not good coverage.

3luckystars · 04/06/2026 12:20

I think it’s because you buy one swimsuit for life and if you get bigger or smaller they will still fit, (but in my opinion, still look bad with no support)

It’s like the emperors new clothes.

vixen996 · 05/06/2026 11:13

@Daughn you’re so welcome! They are very flattering and comfortable, I’ve even been down the rapids in them at Center Parcs and everything stayed where it should! 🤣

Look like everything I try and avoid!
No shape to boobs and cheese wire legs

And bottom not remotely covered.

gotohellforheavenssake · 05/06/2026 22:58

I rate this Snag swimsuit. It’s over budget, but is good quality and feels supportive. I despaired of all the high cut legs on every other swimsuit I tried. This one’s well covered if being active, but not too modest. I appreciate a bit of coverage on shoulders in the sun. Has a hook and eye closure at back, but it’s stretchy enough to pull on and off without undoing it.
