Please be honest
I’ve always had chunky thighs and calves, and I’m about half a stone over my ideal weight.
i have very blotchy legs so will add fake tan!

Another one saying you have great legs!

10namechangeslater · 30/04/2026 16:53

Are you joking?! Of course you can wear the shorts!

Lifeomars · 30/04/2026 17:20

I would love to have legs like yours, enjoy wearing the shorts, they look great

I’m not saying that people shouldn’t post. If op had posted, do these shorts work on my shape, or are these shorts flattering, I wouldn’t have said anything. It’s the “can I get away with these or am I too big” questions that are always on here from very slim women, that I dislike

I know but we all have our own insecurities and we re trying to find ways to deal with them, one of which is validation by others … rightly or wrongly

dealing with insecurities , via shutting others’ emotions or need for reassurance down though, is not on is it ?

catface24 · 30/04/2026 17:41

I think we have to agree to disagree, and that’s fine isn’t it. That’s life. The reason I disagree is because actually I don’t really have any significant innate insecurities about what I look like, I’m actually quite happy with how I look. But it’s like I said, when I’m having coffee with someone who is 2 sizes smaller than me, complaining about how fat they are, that’s what makes me insecure. So yes I get that the person sitting opposite me has their own insecurities and that’s fine, but them vocalising that has the effect of putting someone else down. I just think we have a bit of a duty to consider that. So you think my insecurities are making me shut down other people’s search for validation. And I think other people’s search for validation puts others down and makes them insecure. Perhaps it’s a chicken and egg situation. Like I said though, we can disagree, that’s fine

I've got long, very muscly legs and glutes and find that I look best in short shorts that sit at the top of my thighs, or slightly longer ones. I couldn't get away with the length you're wearing as they'd accentuate the meatiest part of my quads and hammies.

I’m really trying to not make this about me, and I know even thin women have insecurities about their bodies, BUT I do wish that slim women would stop posting stuff like this. All it makes me think, is that slim women are judging my actual fat legs in shorts and thinking I shouldn’t be wearing them.

Slim women with their own insecurities will be busy worrying about their own legs.

HarkHarktheDogsdoBark · 30/04/2026 18:31

Women have different builds. Some are curvy or athletic. Exercise changes body shape. Ethnicity may influence this too.

The giraffe or matchstick body type is globally not common, and personally I never liked it. In the sports club I used to be in, the joke was drop a jeans size after joining, then go up 2 sizes from training.

You look great. Womanly and strong.

snowfire1 · 30/04/2026 18:52

What you need are a pair of daise duke shorts.

Im not talking about anyone else’s legs, im talking about mine.
this thread is really helpful and I really value the ideas about different styles that would work.

Fair enough! I agree you don't have chunky legs at all and I'd say they're on the slim side!

Mine are chunky above the knee and I wear skirt style shorts that pretty much come to the knee.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 30/04/2026 19:25

Hmmm interesting to go shorter or go longer
my bum isn’t great so maybe I’ll try longer

Looks decent to me. Seen better and much much worse. You decide.

Sheldonsheher · 30/04/2026 21:04

No one cares and neither should you.

You have great legs. The shorts aren't flattering though. They're neither tight nor loose or long nor short. They're just very "eh". Get nicer shorts and show off your legs.

Calendulaaria · Yesterday 08:28

I wish I had your legs. These shorts look really nice!

Twoshoesnewshoes · Today 16:08

Are these better?
loose crinkly with a tie waist

Can I wear these shorts?
