Please be honest
I’ve always had chunky thighs and calves, and I’m about half a stone over my ideal weight.
i have very blotchy legs so will add fake tan!

Are these better?
loose crinkly with a tie waist

You look great. You do not have fat or chunky legs. You do not have to lose half a stone. It's actually quite irritating that you post here complaining about these issues. There is nothing wrong with your body.

People are allowed to feel insecure about their body even if they appear trim to others!
I wish people would leave OP alone. She is entitled to post if she is worried. And she knows better than anyone on here what her ideal weight is.
This is Style and Beauty, not AIBU.

I say this as a significantly overweight person by the way.

Myli1 · 03/05/2026 09:07

Yes they look absolutely fine! ‘Half a stone’ is just over 3kg for those of us aged under 55! Anyway doesn’t look like you need to lose anything tbh.

247achybreakyheart · 03/05/2026 09:08

You’re absolutely not a bit chunky! If I had your legs I’d have them out alllllllllll the time! The shorts looks great on you 💗💗

Namechangefordaughterevasion · 03/05/2026 09:18

You are totes overthinking. You look great.

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 03/05/2026 09:20

I wonder if someone told you that you looked a certain way, even if it wasn’t true, and it has stuck with you? My DM used to put me on diets that I absolutely didn’t need & make comments constantly about my weight - it was years before I had any body confidence at all. You have great legs OP!

@DeftGoldHedgehog you look great!
I was bullied as a teen and told I had fat legs, so now I just don’t know.

Well there you are. You don't have fat or chunky legs. Maybe you used to? You don't now

CoverIt · 03/05/2026 11:25

I think shorter chino shorts would show off your legs better but it depends on your level of comfort with that! It’s all relative to the shape of your leg - cutting it off in the ‘wrong’ place creates a different silhouette - try on a few different ones to see which one is right for you.

Equally, it’s fine to not give a fuck and wear what’s comfortable and affordable for you. I overthink the finer points when buying clothes for myself and probably make myself a bit miserable 🤣 It’s easier to be more objective with someone else 😊 You are slim, have great legs and can wear whatever you choose - even if you weren’t slim you could!

Awww thank you
my thighs curve right out above the knee though?
am I overthinking it?

Yes, OP, you are! But I have very similar shaped legs to you and completely understand where you're coming from!

So weird for me to look at someone else's legs, recognise they're like mine and not feel anything negative. We are awful to ourselves!

ButterYellowHair · 03/05/2026 20:17

Yes, they look lovely and your calves and thighs are regular not chunky.

TutTutTutSigh · 03/05/2026 20:20

I bought these in 2 colours yesterday, they are very flattering and can be dressed up or down.

That’s how thighs work… only very very thin models don’t go out at the thigh

Holdinguphalfthesky · 03/05/2026 20:35

@Twoshoesnewshoes try on a pair shorter than you think you “should”. I always used to cut off my own, and cut them quite long. When I tried a shorter cut I was genuinely astonished. For context I have very strong legs and they’re solid- shapely, but there is plenty of them, so I had always instinctively gone for a longer length but found shorter was actually more flattering.

Hiddenhouse · 03/05/2026 20:41

You look amazing!
