Easter is here and so is a new thread. Who needs chocolate when you can have beauty stuff? Or maybe have both. 💋🍫

Welcome to newbies and welcome back veterans of beauty chat threads.

PS. As a sobering thought we are maybe only 3-4 months out from the first advent calendar spoiler. 😂

This is from the Cult Status terms and conditions…

We may occasionally offer promotions under which you may earn additional Points. Any such promotion will be subject to the terms and conditions issued with that promotion.

Cult Beauty may set a limit on the number of times Points may be awarded for promotional items on which additional Points are available. Individual promotions may have different limits as communicated in their purchase conditions. Any participation in promotional offers above and beyond what could objectively be considered consumer behaviour or personal use may be considered as abuse of Cult Status.

Then from the actual promotion:

To celebrate our Cult Status anniversary, we’re treating you to 200 bonus Status Points when you shop today – exclusively for Gold!*

*200 bonus Status Points will be added at checkout on any purchases made between 00:00 BST 12/04/26 and 23:59 BST 12/04/26. You must be logged into the account associated with this email address to be eligible for the offer. Status Points are valid for 12 months.

There is reference to ‘One per customer’ but that’s very clearly in reference to the Oribe GWP as it’s marked so.

This is 100% their fuck up. Their CS is awful!

Doglover73 · 14/04/2026 12:25

That's awful. How dare they????
Id take it further as just not on. X

Puravida23 · 14/04/2026 12:26

Wow @psuedocream3 that is insane especially when others including myself who placed 4 orders managed to get away with it with no repercussion. . I would be fuming
I actually came on to say ( and you might want to skip this bit as it's about Cult Beauty)
In the fragrance samples they have Byredo ( rose of no mans land and Blanche) if anyone hasn't got enough face masks and wants to use some of their credit and is a Byredo.fan

I’ve just read about pelegrims on another thread. It looks tempting. Has anyone used their products or does anyone have a subscription with them? https://pelegrims.com/products/pelegrims-subscription-box?selling_plan=710882820474

TragicMuse · 14/04/2026 12:44

I’m trying to get a reply from CB customer service to cancel my account. Nothing so far. It’s been almost an hour.

SheilaFentiman · 14/04/2026 13:00

That’s awful @psuedocream3 - after one order??!!

Yes! I have their subs box and love it.

The products are gorgeous, even the ones I don't like 😆for example, the perfume is beautiful but I'm not a perfume wearer.

The new box is due about now. Last quarter we received body oil (nice), incense (surprisingly good and not usually available online), serum (gorgeous) and hand pomade (great in winter though I prefer their hand cream). The one before wasn't quite as good, but still good. It had the perfume and I think the facial treatment.

You get a permanent discount off products, I think it's 15%, and it's always free postage.

They also do specials so every so often they will do 10 of a new product for £10 for the first 10 to buy then the next 15 get it for £15.

It's quite a fun little thread as well, most folk on there had the Haeckels/Dulcie boxes before they went downhill.

My CB order is still sat at order placed, no communication from them at all. Pretty poor show, and terrible customer service. I'm not so much bothered about if my ordered is/gets cancelled, its the communication blackout. I was looking at ordering the hair edit and some WA products but I'd rather purchase from elsewhere now.

I placed just one order on Sunday, five perfume samples for £5 plus a cheap mask, using code ANNIIECB and opting for next day delivery. It's still not been dispatched and is just showing as "order placed ". Very annoying but at least I still have an account.

namechange0998776554799000 · 14/04/2026 13:15

That is awful @psuedocream3!

With impeccable timing, CB have sent me my £25 birthday voucher - minimum spend £100 and I've done so many orders I can't think of anything to buy!

Is it £48 a month or a quarter?

IDontHateRainbows · 14/04/2026 13:23

Not that im too bothered but one of my CB.purchases didn't arrive after being despatched, the others all did. Luckily it was only a £2 face mask but still. If it had been something more valuable I can only imagine the hassle to get cb to sort it out.

Still wary of making a purchase as I dont know if im on the cb naughty step. Account looks active but I've had them just cancel all oders once placed for being on naughty step before, like a shadow ban. I'd rather just know!

Fillybuster · 14/04/2026 13:26

PSA: 4 Kayali fragrance minis still going free to a good home (or just a scent-curious one!) - DM me if you want them.

Continuing the CB theme (do we need a separate CB thread in S&B??), they’ve now given me £10 value to make up for my non working perfume voucher. But only after first telling me that it was only supporsed to work via the email link (bollocks: there’s a voucher code for a reason) and then telling me that it didn’t work because it was part of a flash sale promo, which I had missed - apparently I should move faster in future. It was only after I challenged both of those replies that someone sensible stepped in.

I have some experience running customer support services & suspect THG have outsourced CS to a 3rd party running scripts through a combo of agentic bots and cheap/badly trained human agents. Not impressive, would be interesting to see how that’s impacting on THG plans for customer strategy & growth.

TreesinthePark · 14/04/2026 13:28

I'm really sorry to hear that @psuedocream3 , thats very unfair of them to say that about one order.

The wildly inconsistent responses we've all had shows how poor CB customer service is. I think they know and don't care because people (and I include myself) will shop with them regardless for a good deal.

user593 · 14/04/2026 13:34

They didn’t ban anyone for the 40% off offer did they? That would seem more appropriate than for an offer they advertised and was used within the T&Cs.

Beautyfox · 14/04/2026 13:35

TragicMuse · 14/04/2026 13:20

Is it £48 a month or a quarter?

I’m not sure. Looking at the price of their products if the box has full sized products in I’m assuming monthly. But @Cyclingmummy1 has sold it to me so I might give it a go.

JoRaRaRa · 14/04/2026 13:59

@psuedocream3 what did they say when you pointed out that you'd only done one order? 😕 Seems very unfair!

How on earth they could suggest it was a flash sale when the code said it was valid for a year is beyond me. They gave me a second code which I could only get to work on a Ouai fragrance mist but I'd given up arguing by that point.

@psuedocream3 that's absolutely shocking. I can't believe they banned you for a single order. It was bad enough they banned anyone for their cock up but you've been particularly hard done to.

What’s weird is the the very different approach by CB customer services. My perfume voucher didn’t work and WhatsApp’d them. They told me it was because I had a bundle in my basket so I removed everything and put a single bottle of perfume and it still didn’t work. When I informed them of this it got passed to another department who emailed me with 30mins apologising and gave me account credit to the value which meant I could spend it on anything. However, I did spend it in perfume. You would think they had a more rigid process.

SummerLimes · 14/04/2026 14:15

I did 3 orders which seem ok but so really sorry for all the people who’ve had problems. I’m going to use my credit and only order if an amazing edit. I’d rather pay a bit more and use SNK.

£48 a quarter @TragicMuse , one payment and your box is dispatched 3-5 days later.

Box value is usually around £100/120 mark. Generally 3 full size.

psuedocream3 · 14/04/2026 14:17

@JoRaRaRa They said the investigations team came to their decision and once a decision is reached it would not be reversed. The person I spoke to said I should sign up again and go through the contact form if I wanted to escalate my complaint, which I will.

They have either outsourced or they are running all their various businesses through one help point as I got a reply from them last night talking about a product CB doesn’t even sell!

I’ve requested my CB account be deleted. I’m not giving them any more of my money, no matter how good an edit something sounds. I’m just not.

Sminty2 · 14/04/2026 15:10

@psuedocream3
that is so unfair of them. Exactly why I will no longer buy from them.
They are deeply untrustworthy!
