I understand how hard that must be for Jo Malone, but I don’t quite buy the faux naivety and the poor little me. She must have had legal advice and decided that the amount they were paying was worth it? She can’t have been so completely ignorant about who Estee Lauder are?

She’s an intelligent woman who built a brand attractive enough for EL to go after it. And they paid her millions for it, a brand that had only been going for 9 years at that point. And then they paid her to run it till she left.

I do have sympathy but even then everyone knew you never sell the rights to your name. Never.

And you can’t tell me that neither her own or Zara’s legal teams didn’t realise the risks of the collaboration wording or that EL wouldn’t come for them, it’s just not realistic.

I agree, Jo Malone is definitely too savy and has access to enough legal support to not understand her contract with EL. For both parties £200k seems like a 'trivial' amount so maybe the case is more personal for someone at EL rather than fully corporate.

I have Jo's autobiography in my pile of books yet to be read. Books are much the same as beauty for me where I'm constantly buying more before finishing what I'm on!

I dug out a pawpaw from my stash - I usually regift them for some reason but this one got left behind. It seems to have helped a bit despite being bright orange, (it’s a tinted one).

I gave the Blistex a try on holiday but it stung like hell and I couldn’t tell if it was doing anything. I also wasn’t sure if it was supposed to sting 🤷‍♀️Perhaps I should have persevered.

I will see if I can find some lanolips in Boots tomorrow. Elizabeth Arden also have some kind of offer on, so I might get some of the 8 hour cream too.

I never have issues with my lips usually so this is really bothering me.

@IlovePondtry dabbing some honey on your lips (dab, not rub). I always keep a jar of good quality raw honey in the kitchen and use for skin emergencies. It’s magic stuff.
Same with good quality olive oil for random dry skin events.

@IlovePond you poor thing! A little bit “basic” maybe, but I think you can’t go wrong with Vaseline when everything else is creating a reaction. I’m also a huge fan of Carmex, but (like blistex), that can be a bit tingly, so maybe not the thing you need right now. If you go with PawPaw, there is one that is super gentle, I think it’s the yellow tube. Otherwise good old Nivea might be your friend for now?

You lot are a truly terrible influence….and I love you for it! I’ve finally managed to place my first SK order!! I got the new Mint bestie box, plus a whole load of other items I’ve been slowly building in my basket over the last 2 weeks, including a massive jar of BoJ niacimide serum, down to $7, as I’ve been using it for the last week or so (purchased a smaller one from CB for twice the price) and it’s lovely. And some centrella velvet finish sunscreen and some masks, and the BoJ mask and….oh dear…..

Plus the Boots box, which I really don’t need!

Very interested in the CB edit, though. That looks like great value and some fantastic items. Noticed that they’re still trying to sell the WA edit for £75 each despite the awful reviews. I wonder if those will get repackaged into BACs later in the year?

@IlovePond I find that lipsticks really dry out my lips so I use the ordinary lip serum on a night with a load of vaseline over the top. Through the day when I'm at home, I have a lip balm on the windowsill in the bathroom, so every time I go to the loo, I put it on. Hopefully you can find something to help you soon 😊

I have a little cheap alternative that I feel the need to share. I really liked the blue nail varnish that dior recently released, but as I only paint my toes, I felt that £30 was wayyyy too much to spend. I've found this one from Barry M in Hawaiian blue, it's not like for like but it's very similar and a lot cheaper. Just imagine your toesies in the sea with this on your nails 🌊🏝️🐚🩵

Against my better judgement I went back on the SK site. I wanted the green lucky box but it sold out before I checked out 😿 Of course, I now really want it now I can’t have it!

I haven’t bought anything because the $1 deals were also sold out by 8.30am. I will try again tomorrow and if the $1 deals are available I might finish my order.

I’m also annoyed that the pouch of goodies I bought a while back is now $11. It’s a great bargain though, if anyone is interested. It’s in the ‘everything $11’ section.

Btw: As a nice bonus, I got a £40 gift card for JL yesterday for buying pet insurance back in January. I had totally forgotten about it until I got an email asking me which g/c I wanted last night.

I shall wait for the next sale or store wide discount. Sounds silly, but I might just buy a stacking drawer for one of my Stackers organisers. Who knew that something so silly could give so much pleasure - it’s so nice to see everything tidy!

I’m a bit surprised my order from last week hasn’t shipped from SK, but I guess they are busy.

I really hope I get my pink Besties box as it’s showing as OOS on my order. I have been charged for it, so hopefully it’s on its way.

I agree regarding jo malone. Bobbi Brown did another range when time allowed but didnt use her name as she'd signed it over to whoever she sold it to, estee lauder I think. Moneys no object. X

was there anything in particular that you wanted from the lucky green box @IlovePond ? I managed to get one (hopefully!) but I do have a lot of K-Beauty and probably loads of duplicates.

I’m just about to start the Grow Gorgeous serum and shampoo so will report back if there is any improvement.

I gave my hair a rest from serums, etc. after finishing the Kerastase, so it will be interesting to see if GG does any good.

On a related note:

I told DS2 last night, (now identified as the shampoo using perp), just how much A&A shampoo costs and he said: “Oh, that’s a lot.”

Well, yes, exactly 🙈 Moving forward, please use the £1.99 Lidl stuff, (which is quite nice, tbf).
