I’ve fallen in love with a Givenchy dress…

Help me find one that’s as close in style as possible.

Ideally no more than £150 (the Givenchy one is £1500).

It could be black or navy.
It could be mini or midi length.

Thank you!

Vinted? I just had a look and there’s a few Givenchy dresses on there for around £150.

It's a beautiful dress and I agree with others, those laughing and making negative comments have a hint of jealousy about them!

I admit like a good few other posters I basically dont like this look. The bust area on every one depicted imo is awful.I can also guarantee there isn't a hint of jealousy. I just find that particular bust line funny. It seems every time a negative opinion is given on an article of clothing it's down to jealousy. I call it a matter of taste & honesty.

I'm always grateful for honest opinions on my choices. I never accuse a friend who tells me she thinks a dress I point out is awful of being jealous or mean. It just gives me food for thought then I make a decision.

This one says it has boning - which would be very necessary, along with a perfectly close fit. Not surprised they haven't sold out in XL!

Edited

But the OP does like this look and was asking for help, which another poster was able to do and posted links with similar dresses and bust shape.
Laughing at the links shared shows insecurity, the OP didn’t ask for opinions on the dress…

sleeppleasesoon · 10/03/2026 21:25

Love it OP. Sexy and modern. Good luck with the hunt.

Mistybluebay · 10/03/2026 22:20

Would young women honestly go out wearing the last 2 dresses depicted, especially the one with the thigh length stockings.

I hope you find what your looking for OP but please make sure when you try it on you get loads of opinions before deciding as I honestly did laugh at most of the bust line shapes shown here. There just seems to be something comical about them or perhaps thats just my sense of humour 🤔

I think that's the fifth time you've pointed out you find it funny.

We get it.

There's a difference between an honest opinion (which in this instance was not asked for at all anyway) and just being plain nasty.

Do you make a habit of stalking posters & their contributions and just for your records here is a 6th time. The bust line is funny.

Some people will wear anything that they are told is 'in'. Regardless of what it actually looks like on. The Givenchy dress itself was designed for someone who lives a privileged, affluent lifestyle. It's for Lady Henrietta to wear to her elder sister's 21st at some swanky venue where she is chauffeured to and from. It's not a dress for standing at the taxi rank in or down Reflections for the 2-4-1 on cocktails.

If they like it, then sure.

It’s not my style either, but so what? It doesn’t need to be. The only opinion OP needs to give a shit about is her own.

I'm an old fogey. I don't like it when we have to see women's boobs like that. Perhaps if you haven't got much it would look ok..Maybe. Otherwise I wish women would keep their boobs in.

For what reason should “women keep their boobs in”?

canklesmctacotits · 11/03/2026 01:57

I do wonder how these dresses work. Wouldn’t one or both boobs poke out the top when sitting/getting up? Are there suction cups inside the bodice area? What if you have to reach up - wouldn’t the cups swish up to your chin?

DinoLil · 11/03/2026 03:25

Legs or boobs, never both!

ktopfwcv · 11/03/2026 04:25

Laiste · 10/03/2026 15:57

The Givenchy dress isn't even particularly revealing !

What's funny about the dresses suggested? Is there a load of awkward 12 year old boys in here or something? 'Sides splitting' with laughter at a dress ... 🙄

3 at that. That poster reeks of jealousy

I think we can agree you’re not the target market for a dress like that…

Has some similarities.

Who else would carry something similar, than the world's biggest copycat - aka "Chanel for poor people" = Zara.

DaphneduM · 11/03/2026 04:50

I hope you find your beautiful dress which will have the vibe of the Givenchy one you posted.

I'm pretty old now and have to rein in what I wear, but beautiful dresses give you memories of when you are young and stunning. For me my memory is of a white dress with a slightly less structured top to yours, then draped down to a split tulip hem. I wore it while at a very classy place in Madeira and felt a million dollars. Weirdly our Area Manager and his wife were staying at the same hotel and when we were back at work he said to me 'oh my wife said your dress must have been very expensive'. It wasn't - it came from a very ordinary little boutique in Yeovil - but it had the right look!

I now have a beautiful daughter and love seeing her looking wonderful when she goes out to special events. I always make sure she sends me pictures of her and her friends and I revel in their youth and beauty. It's a cliche, but it's fleeting and you turn round and it's gone.

Keep searching and let us know when you find it - it will give you something to think about years later. Also I totally admire you for going for something exceptional. My mum told me, don't dress the same as everyone else, be individual - and both me and my daughter certainly follow that! My regret is that I don't have a picture of myself in my dress, so make sure you take some!!!

Best of luck in your search.

Highlighta · 11/03/2026 04:59

I admit I am more mature so am a lot more practical these days.

My first thought was, how do you store this?
If someone is paying all that money for a dress, it cannot be bunged in a wardrobe squashed up against other dresses.
But then I suppose if you can afford a dress like the original, then giving a it the space it needs (in its own wardrobe) won't be a problem.

Yes. Reading a thread is exactly the same as 'stalking'.

Behave.

For what reason should “women keep their boobs in”?

I didn't say "should" . I said I wish I didn't see women's boobs on show. It isn't stylish. Totally my view.

Another poster says it needs to be legs or boobs on show, and that rule might help. It's the overall effect. In this case I think it's showy and cheap looking, regardless what it might actually cost.
