Do you wear make up every day?

I think I look better with makeup. I prefer the way my eyes look with a bit of eyeliner and it evens my complexion as I have some redness.

However, on days when I’m working from home the very most I’ll probably do is put on a bit of eyeliner and mascara. I only really put on a ‘full’ face if I’m going into work. Partly because I can’t bothered cleansing it all off properly at night.

But frequently if I’m out for a walk on a WFH day for example, I’ll see other people walking their dogs with full face of make-up on. Maybe I need to make more of an effort!

No. I put on some tinted moisturiser if I'm going into work or meeting friends but that's it. I can't wear anything on my eyes due to sensitivity/allergies.

Purlant · 08/01/2026 17:09

I wouldn’t really worry what others are doing, just do what makes you happy or can be arsed with! At my work, only a few women wear make up, the majority don’t bother (I’m very jealous as I also look rubbish without it!!).

mcmuffin22 · 08/01/2026 17:11

Yes I always wear makeup. I wfh anyway but always on calls. I like wearing make up but don't really notice that other people aren't wearing it.

Typtoe · 08/01/2026 17:11

I do a full face every day. I enjoy the process and the time to myself each morning. But would certainly never think anything of somebody who wasn't wearing makeup. I'm not sure I would notice

DancingInTheMoonlights · 08/01/2026 17:11

I WFH and don’t wear any make up - I only wear it if going out somewhere special, i.e. not to the supermarket. I can’t be bothered with the faff of taking it off.

reversingdumptruckwithnotyreson · 08/01/2026 17:13

No, my work isn’t customer facing so i just can’t bring myself to do it.

Tovetov · 08/01/2026 17:16

No I never wear make-up. I never have.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 08/01/2026 17:18

No and it doesn't bother me, but I had to take a passport-type photo this week and it made me realise how rough I'm starting to look. Sort of grey and dehydrated looking, so perhaps it's time to start 🫣

IceIceSlippyIce · 08/01/2026 17:37

No. I never wfh, and would never wear makeup to work.

TomatoSandwiches · 08/01/2026 17:41

No but if I'm out and about I invariably have my glasses and a hat on so not too noticeable.

RedFrogs · 08/01/2026 17:54

Yes, but I really enjoy doing it and I have a skin condition which makes my skin react if I touch it and I’d rather not walk around looking like I’ve been in a fight if I touch my face.

Squirrelsnut · 08/01/2026 17:57

No, about 75% of the time.

Herefordian · 08/01/2026 18:04

My neighbour wears full make up every single day, even to do the garden. She’s 85 and always looks immaculate. I might do my eyebrows if I can be arsed and maybe lipstick if I’m going out. I’m sure my neighbour thinks I’m a right slob.

MiddleAgedDread · 08/01/2026 18:07

I couldn’t tell you the last time I wore make up!

Springflowersyay · 08/01/2026 18:08

I never wear any. Even on a night out. Everyone is different.

OttersMayHaveShifted · 08/01/2026 18:11

Yes, but not eye make-up, as it doesn't stay put on me. I use a bb cream or light coverage foundation, a bit of concealer and some blush. Usually some lipstick but nothing too bright. For me, the oy real purpose of wearing make-up is to make my skin look less pale and dull/sallow, and to even out my complexion.

DappledThings · 08/01/2026 18:12

No, I don't wear any ever.

Topseyt123 · 08/01/2026 18:13

I never bother with make-up. Really can't be arsed at all with it.

I think I might have worn some on our wedding day but that was 32 years ago and was applied by DH's aunt, who was a hairdresser and make-up artist. None since.

Disturbia81 · 08/01/2026 18:15

Yes every day, I just enjoy it and have a particular look. I don’t give a shit what anyone else does.

Do you have eyes that water a lot?

ClaudiaWrinklemum · 08/01/2026 18:23

I’m currently in bed sick, with a full face on.

mynameiscalypso · 08/01/2026 18:25

Yes, I wear it every day (CC cream, under eye concealer, eye shadow + liner, mascara, blush). It takes me about 2 minutes and I usually do it while I’m waiting for the kettle to boil. I look very tired and pasty without it.

Owlmoonstar · 08/01/2026 18:25

On a bad day, eyebrows (mine are non existent so I have no choice) and lipstick.

On a good day, eyebrows, lipstick and mascara.

Once in a blue moon party or night out- full works.

PhantomAfternoonTea · 08/01/2026 18:27

If that's true, that's very sad @ClaudiaWrinklemum

Berlinlover · 08/01/2026 18:27

Not since chemotherapy, I look strange when I wear makeup now.
