Do you wear make up every day?

I think I look better with makeup. I prefer the way my eyes look with a bit of eyeliner and it evens my complexion as I have some redness.

However, on days when I’m working from home the very most I’ll probably do is put on a bit of eyeliner and mascara. I only really put on a ‘full’ face if I’m going into work. Partly because I can’t bothered cleansing it all off properly at night.

But frequently if I’m out for a walk on a WFH day for example, I’ll see other people walking their dogs with full face of make-up on. Maybe I need to make more of an effort!

Yes, I wear tinted moisturiser, blusher, brow colour, mascara and lipstick. Takes under 5 mins. I wfh but leave the house at least once a day for the school run and errands. But I put it on for days at home too, because I might need to answer the door or pop out unexpectedly.

HollyhockDays · 08/01/2026 21:44

I like make up and have a good collection of it. I might book a make up lesson and learn how to do a Quick Look.

Only at weekends.
I'd rather have an extra 30mins in bed.

Puddingpiper · 08/01/2026 21:52

I wear make up to work some variety of a light base, bit of concealer if needed, mascara, bit of blush/bronzer, tinted lip balm, sometimes some setting spray.

May do a proper eye shadow or lipstick if going out.

Working from home/walking the dog/putting my feet up nothing other than moisturiser.

Headstarttohappiness · 08/01/2026 21:58

Yep bright red lip and mascara. No foundation or anything else as too time consuming and cba.
Turns out I do wear it for myself, as I still wore it under my Covid mask at work in the pandemic!

FusionChefGeoff · 08/01/2026 22:02

Nah I binned off makeup during covid and never went back. Most I wear is mascara and eyebrows for weddings. I have given myself soooooo much time and money back I love it

Mrscharlieeeee · 08/01/2026 22:07

Most days yes. On a weekend, if I’m staying in or only going out for a dog walk then I don’t bother but Monday to Friday I wear a full face.

OvertiredandConfused · 08/01/2026 22:13

I always wear make-up - foundation, brows, mascara and lips (usually red). Doesn't matter whether I'm WFH, in the office or doing the shopping. I too wore make-up during lock-down. Takes me five minutes. I do a full make-up for a night out or big day at work.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/01/2026 22:16

Most days - unless it’s a day I’ll just be knocking around at home. It takes me five minutes in the morning.

Raisondeetre · 08/01/2026 22:17

Not unless I’m meeting someone for coffee/lunch or attending some event. I used to wear it every day but I don’t anymore.

TheChosenTwo · 08/01/2026 22:19

I wear makeup almost no days, I really like it and have a collection of lovely makeup but for various reasons I don’t wear it -

  1. i’m lazy
  2. I can’t see my own face
  3. when I put it on I feel like I’m drawing attention to myself
  4. it seems to require a certain amount of ‘looking after’ or topping up etc, see point 1

no judgment on anyone either way, my techniques are poor but I’m happy with my skin so not really bothered about learning how to put it on properly.

TheDogsMother · 08/01/2026 22:19

Yes I wear makeup everyday and it’s the full works but a reasonable subtle version. My skin is a bit blotchy so I feel better with it but it is for me and I really don’t have an opinion on how much or how little others wear.

Petrine · 08/01/2026 22:22

I always wear makeup whether I’m at home or going out. I look better with it on and I wouldn’t feel right without it.

TheEveningReport · 08/01/2026 22:25

I do! I’m pale and look sick without it. Not loads, tinted moisturiser and a dab of blusher and mascara. Skincare is my true love.

Yeah, me too.

TheCurious0range · 08/01/2026 23:05

I'm very pale so tend to in the winter, but minimal. A bb cream or similar, a light under eye concealer like glossier stretch, some cream blush or cheek tint, mascara and lip balm. Takes five minutes makes me look less dead.

Blastedusername · 08/01/2026 23:06

Stopped wearing make-up after covid and face-masks. Plus, it seemed a bit fake after the pandemic. I may go back to it at some stage.

Musicaltheatremum · 08/01/2026 23:08

Not worn any since 2022. I'm 62. Had a spell when I wore it in my 40s but can't be bothered with it to be honest. I'm blessed with really good skin as was my mum and grandma. My daughter wears it as she's had awful acne over the years.

OtterlyAstounding · 08/01/2026 23:13

No. I dont think makeup is good for my skin, and I feel like foundation is always visible – and it covers up my freckles. I sometimes wear a touch of mascara, eyebrow pencil, and tinted lip balm for special occasions, but otherwise I stick to skincare products so my skin just looks healthy.

I do get quite ruddy at times myself, but personally I prefer that to the look of a full face.

andanotherproblem · 08/01/2026 23:14

Yes if I’m leaving the house I do, in the summer with a tan some tinted moisturiser but always have my eyes and eyebrows done

fashionqueen0123 · 08/01/2026 23:19

Yes every day. even when sick I put some on. But only due to my skin. I wouldn’t bother with stuff like eye make up then.

I can do a full face in 5 mins so it doesn’t really take time.

Nomoremening · 08/01/2026 23:31

I WFH and don’t wear a full face of makeup every day. Even when I worked in the office I didn’t.

The reason being I have really good skin and get away with using a cream or oil cleanser and then putting on some moisturiser and my skin glows especially in summer. In winter it can look a little dry sometimes.

But I feel I’m squandering my good skin if I wear full face of makeup every single day? the same as what (some) people with bad skin do . It’s a bit like wearing a wig all the time when you have a full head of thick hair!

I wear it usually if I’m going out to meet a friend (which is increasingly rare) or if I’m on holiday or if I know I’m going to some kind of event be it professional or personal where there will be pictures taken. Oh also wear it if I’ve been ill recently and looking a bit washed out or extra dry.

Day to day I typically wear no makeup if I’m on video calls or out and about doing local errands except clear or coloured lipgloss -if that counts - and occasionally some mascara.

But some people (including some with good skin) wear lots every day and it looks great, so each to their own!

Waitingfordoggo · 08/01/2026 23:33

I don’t wear make up ever unless I’m going to a wedding or a nice restaurant or something in which case I’ll wear mascara and maybe bronzer if it’s winter and I’m pale.

Littleguggi · 08/01/2026 23:40

Most days yes. If I don't, people always comment 'you look tired'. I actually enjoy putting makeup on in the morning, takes hardly 5 minutes.

Contrarymary30 · 08/01/2026 23:40

I've always worn makeup and don't leave the house without . I feel better with it on , I'm mid 70s but don't want to give up on myself just yet !
