Do you wear make up every day?

I think I look better with makeup. I prefer the way my eyes look with a bit of eyeliner and it evens my complexion as I have some redness.

However, on days when I’m working from home the very most I’ll probably do is put on a bit of eyeliner and mascara. I only really put on a ‘full’ face if I’m going into work. Partly because I can’t bothered cleansing it all off properly at night.

But frequently if I’m out for a walk on a WFH day for example, I’ll see other people walking their dogs with full face of make-up on. Maybe I need to make more of an effort!

Rarely. Only for special occasions.

GreggWallace · 08/01/2026 18:31

Yes. Every day. All through lockdown

I do a full face every day. I enjoy the process and the time to myself each morning. But would certainly never think anything of somebody who wasn't wearing makeup. I'm not sure I would notice

Same 😊

Do you have eyes that water a lot?

Not really. Mascara that stays put is annoying to remove. Eyeliner smudges. Eyeshadow is ok but it's not something it would particularly occur to me to wear unless I'm going 'out out' (which I very rarely do!).

LeedsZebra90 · 08/01/2026 18:35

A bit of powder foundation across my nose and forehead most days so I'm not too shiny, then on a very rare occasion mascara and blush. I'm quite dark so my eyes are fine without makeup I just like to balance out my skin a bit.

DuchessofStaffordshire · 08/01/2026 18:37

No, I might pop some eyeliner and mascara on if I go out for a meal with my husband, but that's very rare. I really don't like the feeling of a full face of makeup and don't get me started on false lashes and nails etc. I runs and work out every day and I'm a heavy sweater who ends up looking like a beetroot so it'd end up melting off my face and make a smeary greasy mess.

Theresmoreroominabrokenheart · 08/01/2026 18:38

Yes and no? I wear tinted moisturiser, tinted lip balm and brow gel. I will try and wear make more in 2026

Pollqueen · 08/01/2026 18:42

I used to, every single day. Now I don't give a shit

CrackingOn50 · 08/01/2026 19:20

I do most days.

I do my own lashes that last for about 5 days and cost about 40p per time, tint my eyebrows (use Just For Men beard dye that’s cheaper and quicker). I have a good skincare routine, bung some glowy foundation on, eye makeup, quick cheek contour, blush, lipstick and some powder for any unwanted shiny bits.

Wore fuck all today cos I couldn’t be arsed but I definitely (to me) look better with it.

Takes me about 6 minutes and I go through a gamut of emotions: am I really just doing it for myself or am I subjecting myself to patriarchal pressures etc.

Come to the conclusion that it’s my mask and war paint plus I look younger with it. It’s got fuck all to do with me what other women do with their faces although my nonagenarian mother has always had lippy and mascara on and gives no fucks.

I have terrible red rosacea skin so I always wear foundation, concealer and powder every day unless I know I won’t see another soul. And I always have mascara and eyeliner on too as I feel I look incomplete without! But I couldn’t care less what others do and wish I had the skin to go without it!

IfIwasabluebird · 08/01/2026 19:37

No. I don't own any. Just a clear mascara.
Moisturise morning and night and sunscreen in summer and that's it

I do too but anytime I've worn make-up it makes it more itchy so I can't be arsed trying to hide it. Red and bumpy and wrinkly and unbothered.

luckylavender · 08/01/2026 19:40

Most days, yes

ClearFruit · 08/01/2026 19:40

Yes, because I have an office job and I don't want to scare my colleagues 🤣

Greenwriter76 · 08/01/2026 19:41

No - I just wear it if I feel like it.
When I was younger I at least wore mascara every day & was quite ‘into’ make up. I still hold an interest in products today.
Whenever I’ve worked in offices I’ve worn it, but my weekdays now are mostly school runs, WFH, pottering about, supermarket etc, so more often than not I don’t bother.
I tend to wear it if going ‘out out’ and sometimes meeting friends / family. It usually consist of tinted moisturiser, tubing mascara (looks great, doesn’t smudge and easy to remove - fully recommend for anyone struggling with mascara and watery eyes), maybe some eye and cheek smudgey stuff &, very occasionally, lippy.

smallsilvercloud · 08/01/2026 19:42

Yes very minimal but a little every day, I’m fair so if I didn’t define my eyebrows and lashes I look like a beige blob

mamaduckbone · 08/01/2026 19:45

Usually at least concealer under my eyes and mascara, especially in winter when I look like a corpse otherwise.
In summer, maybe not, although my eyes disappear into my face without mascara. I’ve thought about just getting my eyelashes dyed to save the bother, but I’m terrible at self care and grooming (never even had my nails done, ever!) so haven’t got round to it.

Goinghome2late · 08/01/2026 19:50

Moisturiser, lip balm everyday.

Eyeliner and mascara on the 2 days I work outside the house.

Add red lipstick on nights out.

I am.v low maintemance/cba

couldthisbe2501 · 08/01/2026 19:51

Yes! Every day! I love make up and I love applying it!

RosesAndHellebores · 08/01/2026 19:57

Yes almost every day and always if I have teams meetings or go out.

A very light foundation
Under eye concealer
Blusher
Dab of highlighter on cheekbones
Translucent powder
Mascara
Lipstick

It takes about two minutes. If we go out, I might use a bit of eyebrow pencil and eye liner. Takes an additional minute.

ShatnerssBasoon · 08/01/2026 20:06

I am pale with blonde (now white) eyelashes and eyebrows so I pretty much have to draw my face on... Still in my old age i have given up make up every day so now just go around being surprised whenever a face pops up on teams that looks like Boris Johnson after a heavy night out...

Netcam · 08/01/2026 20:07

Tovetov · 08/01/2026 17:16

No I never wear make-up. I never have.

Same, maybe occasionally in my 20s for a night out but never worn it during the day. Never wear it now.

MarvellousMonsters · 08/01/2026 20:08

No. I wear make up about 4 times a year. You don’t “need to make more of an effort”.

Pieceofpurplesky · 08/01/2026 20:15

No. If I am going out out (not just to the pub/shopping/lunch) I will wear a bit, but never to work (teacher) or for daily things.

henlake7 · 08/01/2026 20:16

50/50 probably and it's usually based on how I feel rather then what I'm doing.

Although I've not been wearing it alot lately. Between having to wear a face mask at work and wearing a hat and scarf outside it would just be too much of a faff.
