Do you wear make up every day?

I think I look better with makeup. I prefer the way my eyes look with a bit of eyeliner and it evens my complexion as I have some redness.

However, on days when I’m working from home the very most I’ll probably do is put on a bit of eyeliner and mascara. I only really put on a ‘full’ face if I’m going into work. Partly because I can’t bothered cleansing it all off properly at night.

But frequently if I’m out for a walk on a WFH day for example, I’ll see other people walking their dogs with full face of make-up on. Maybe I need to make more of an effort!

No but I look so pasty at the moment am thinking I should...or I just need to find some tanning drops that don't give me adult acne!

SwedishEdith · 08/01/2026 20:20

Yes, I do. I look completely washed out and featureless without some definition and shading.

GrillaMilla · 08/01/2026 20:23

I wear it every day

A bit of foundation, powder, blusher.
Eye liner, a bit of eye shadow, mascara

It only takes 5 minutes and it makes me feel better, because I look better

BurntBroccoli · 08/01/2026 20:27

Yes everyday despite working from home. Makes me feel better when I look in the mirror! I have worn makeup from about 15 and feel naked without it.

I don’t wear loads of makeup- just a bit of light glowy foundation, creamy blusher, eye crayon/shadow stick and lipstick.

familyissues12345 · 08/01/2026 20:29

I definitely look better in make up, particularly mascara. I’m very fair and look a bit ill without a bit of colour!

That said, I don’t always wear make up, and only do for work and going out. So on lazy days at home/fun supermarket trips etc I don’t really bother

GreenDogDot · 08/01/2026 20:30

Various versions including: Nothing, which I’d happy WFH, go the supermarket etc. in, variations of just mascara through to a tinted skin serum, cream blusher, under eye concealer and mascara which is going in to the office and most other social occasions and then the addition of proper foundation, eye makeup and/or lipstick for weddings and serious ‘dos. The middle version depends mostly on how well the baby slept!

Ihateboris · 08/01/2026 20:34

Yes, because I have awful melasma so wear foundation everyday.

Honeyandwine · 08/01/2026 20:34

Teacher here and wear it every day. Just running though people at work- I would say 25% wear makeup. I have worn makeup every day since I was about 15. Never heavy- eye liner, mascara, light foundation, blush and concealer.

TabbieMctatty · 08/01/2026 20:39

I do. But only because I have bad rosacea and very dark circles and I am so self conscious of the rosacea in particular. I wear foundation, concealer, powder, mascara and bronzer every day.

I dream of being rosacea free and being able to not wear any or just a light tinted moisturiser and mascara! I think as I'm getting older I would suit much less make up but my skin has other ideas!

Pinkladyapplepie · 08/01/2026 20:42

Always wear makeup at work and if I am wfh and have teams calls. Full day at home ,I let my skin have a rest.I like wearing makeup.

RideTheGoat · 08/01/2026 20:48

There was a time when I wouldn't be seen dead without it.

I have work make-up which is a bit more time consuming. And then I have minimal make myself not look ill make-up when have to go out for school runs/life errands.

I can see why people wear full make-up everyday. If time allows and I do wear it, I feel more ready for anything.

PermanentTemporary · 08/01/2026 20:53

I wear mascara maybe once or twice a month.

Im not necessarily against the idea but the distance from where I am to the sort of full face I see on t’internet seems vast. I also tend to think it looks bad on a lot of people I see.

I had rosacea, not terrible but noticeable and had a course of antibiotics followed by Soolantra cream (Ivermectin) which is apparently a worming agent! It works really well and completely keeps the rosacea at bay unless I am very hot or had a few drinks! I also switched to using Ceravee facewash and moisturiser and no soap. I iknow it doesn't work for everyone and you may well have tried these things but just mention it in case it helps. Definitely see your GP about it if you haven't already.

Lamentingalways · 08/01/2026 21:07

Yes, every day. And it’s not sad before anyone comments that it is.

lemonzlimez · 08/01/2026 21:11

Every single day without fail - unless it’s guaranteed I won’t be leaving the house! I look awful without make up. I’m so pale with very blonde eyelashes, whenever I’ve gone make up free, people have always asked if I’m ill 😳

Parker231 · 08/01/2026 21:12

Very rarely - can’t remember when I last did. Usually have a good base suntan all year round so never felt the need to wear any makeup.

Jugendstiel · 08/01/2026 21:17

Yes, not always a full face of make up. But always mascara and some light lipstick. I have very pale skin and facial hair. If I don't put any on I look exhausted and grumpy. In winter I look grey, as if getting over flu. I like my face to reflect how I feel, so I usually add some tinted moisturiser, eyeshadow, a bit of blusher and brow gel too until I look as perky as I feel.

Gowlett · 08/01/2026 21:18

I love buying it, playing with it. Enjoy the packaging.
But I rarely wear it. Might start again, though…
My face is quite nice, plenty of shape & colour.
If not a bit jowly now. With no eyebrows anymore!

BooksandCats123 · 08/01/2026 21:20

Yes I wear it every day. I don’t judge or even notice those who don’t.

somanychristmaslights · 08/01/2026 21:25

I do. I have dark hair but light eyelashes so have to wear mascara or I look weird! Also have some redness so put a bit of skin tint on.

omggggggg · 08/01/2026 21:26

Yes I wear it every day. It’s my morning routine. I don’t notice it on anyone else though.

MagicStarrz · 08/01/2026 21:28

On days I'm WFH and doing the school run I usually wear mascara, under eye concealer (to cover my dark circles) and I've just discovered the Jones Road miracle balms and really like these on the cheeks.

If I'm going into the office I wear blush, bronzer, brows, possibly tinted moisturiser.

Thank you! I will ask about soolantra. I saw a dermatologist last year but what they prescribed hasn't helped at all.

I will go back to either the derm or maybe try my GP. Lovely to hear a success story as I feel pretty despairing at the mo!

Perrylobster · 08/01/2026 21:35

I wear a little bit of everything but it's very subtle.

CathyorClaire · 08/01/2026 21:40

No.

I realised at 16 after various uncomfortable evenings in slap that boys don't do it and decided to follow suit.
