Tacky ? cheap ? thoughts ?

Cheap. Tacky.

DappledThings · 22/12/2025 12:23

Totally tacky.

And yet pretentious too. SIL collected them for a bit and we went to a store to get her some beads one Christmas. They were making people queue outside the shop even though there were only 2 people inside being served so they could make it look more popular and ramp up the drama. Absolute eyeroll.

TomatoSandwiches · 22/12/2025 12:27

It's the adult version of gumball machine jewellery.... fun but naff.

santasbaubles · 22/12/2025 12:38

Nice for tweens, tacky for adults.

My thoughts entirely

If you like it buy it. It doesn’t matter what posters on MN think, you’ll never meet them. It’s the same with barbour jackets and hunter wellies. Wear what you like.

Maddy70 · 22/12/2025 13:22

Conmon

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/12/2025 13:24

I don’t like jewellery, full stop. If you like it, wear it. Why care what anybody else thinks?

Notrurno · 22/12/2025 13:28

Cringe.

Frynye · 22/12/2025 13:29

Im not a fan of the chunky bracelets but someone bought me some stud earring from there and they are lovely. Really simple and classic, i was surprised

EvilNextDoor · 22/12/2025 13:29

I quite like some of their bits 🤷‍♀️

Personal taste I guess..

I have some Pandora which you wouldn’t think is Pandora.

BashfulClam · 22/12/2025 13:32

I like mine so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t really care what other people think in general though.

WinterBerry40 · 22/12/2025 13:33

I have the necklace and quite a few of the non beaded type thingies ( sorry forgot the correct word ) some are just locket type or hearts or stars . I don't find them them tacky.

EverythingIsComputer · 22/12/2025 13:36

Tacky crap, support your local independent jewellers or buy something more unique on Etsy.

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 22/12/2025 13:36

I wouldn't want a charm bracelet but I have a small pair of huggie earrings, from there, which I wear every day.

TalulahJP · 22/12/2025 13:37

i like mine too.

i don’t follow fashion though. i don’t need some pouty heavily eyelashed woman to tell me what i should like or not like. im not a lemming. i make up my own mind what i like. A little bit of jewellery wirh sentimental value now and again cheers up my day. It doesn't need to be in this years pantone colours either so i dont have to rush out and spend money on more clothes i don’t need. 🤣

SwansOnTheLake · 22/12/2025 13:39

Cheap and nasty.

Could never see the appeal.

jazzybelle · 22/12/2025 13:41

The TV ad is a disgrace. The suggestion that a young boy who is about 10/11 should buy his mother a bracelet costing £££ is appalling.

I don’t suppose he pays …

It's fine I have a Pandora ring, it's cheap and cheerful but its nice. My teen has a bracelet with all the charms it's fine for teens. It's a good thing to buy them, each birthday and Christmas you can get them another charm.

I do too. There are always threads on MN about how 'cheap' they are which isn't true, they're quite pricey for silver and 'tacky' again ,which isn't true as it depends how and what you wear. People like to be sneery. I often wear a bangle with a single drop charm which people often comment on being nice. Obviously if a 40 year old is wearing a bangle with Mickey mouse charms it's not going to look as elegant but then again who cares if they like it ?

FlappicusSmith · 22/12/2025 13:49

DD (12) asked for some for Christmas. I really balked at getting it for her as it's expensive and mass-made and (in my view) a bit naff. But she's 12 and has no taste yet I wouldn't wear it as an adult or buy it for another adult

Cyclingmummy1 · 22/12/2025 13:49

I love mine.

But then, I dont understand the hype over plated or vermeil from the likes of Monica Vinader so each to their own.
