@Cyclingmummy1you’re spot on there too, can’t understand the love for MV. That and Pandora seem popular with people for the hard of thinking and need to be spoon fed on what to buy wear. I know I’m being really catty, if you have something from these places and enjoy them then good for you but I feel people are being taken advantage of paying a lot of money for something that’s not worth it.

At least a Barbour is made in Britain rather than China.

So because you don't like it, you think it's jewellery 'for the hard of thinking'? Nevermind that MV have sustainability as its main core value? Using recycled precious metals and ethically souced gems, with total transparency from design to production. They even do a recycling/buy back scheme for their jewellery. Seems to me that whether you like it or not, many people that choose them are the very opposite of hard of thinking. I don't think you thought that one through. Which is a little ironic.

I have some and my feeling are mixed. I think a bracelet with lots of charms hanging off it is tacky, but that goes for any brand not just pandora. Links of London was similar about 10yrs ago.

But...I wear a simple chain with one pendant, usually either a heart, birthstone or star and I really like it. It's simple and suits my taste. Nobody would even know it was Pandora at a glance. I like that I can change the pendant with my mood or outfit. I have a plain silver bracelet too, but I don't load it up with charms. It's kept the shine too.

i like mine too.

i don’t follow fashion though. i don’t need some pouty heavily eyelashed woman to tell me what i should like or not like. im not a lemming. i make up my own mind what i like. A little bit of jewellery wirh sentimental value now and again cheers up my day. It doesn't need to be in this years pantone colours either so i dont have to rush out and spend money on more clothes i don’t need. 🤣

The irony.

What on earth is meant to be wrong with a Barbour jacket? A substantial proportion of rural Britain is clad in Barbour jackets?!

They are gross, weird, over priced and smell.

If I saw someone wearing one i would think they hunt for fun, drink too much and have a horse face.

They are the epitome of countryside bore chic.

You see, I actually like them, but you're right about the smell. It's that which puts me off.

KidsDoBetter · 23/12/2025 17:27

Naff. And idea that tweens / teens don’t know that is hilarious. Mine have always found them chavvy.

DustyMaiden · 23/12/2025 17:30

My DGd bought me charms at different times it’s a nice memento of all the things we’ve done together. If you add up the total cost it is. A racket.

Freda69 · 23/12/2025 17:33

Overpriced and not great quality (I used to make jewellery.

PlioTalk · 23/12/2025 17:39

I have a lovely Pandora sea turtle charm that I wear on a necklace, it makes me happy to look at it as it's beautiful and reminds me of a good time in my life. I don't care about where it was bought from.

If you like stuff from Pandora OP, wear it and enjoy it.

KiwiFall · 23/12/2025 17:42

FFS. People on here being snooty. I don’t have any Pandora myself . My nearly-out-of-teen does. She bought it/chose it because she loved it and wears every day. I don’t wear a lot of jewellery but what I do is gold and I have accumulated over the years. She’s a silver girl and I’m a gold girl. I don’t find anything wrong with it and price point seems similar to MV.

Same! We should be flayed alive 🤣🤣

I’ve just bought my first Pandora bracelet, aged 58, always wanted one, my two DDs also have one each.

We’ll join you in the flaying!

Forever1973 · 23/12/2025 18:03

I like some of it but I do think it's overpriced for what it is. I have an older crown ring that I bought on eBay for a fiver and a simple gemstone ring I bought at sale price with a voucher I needed to use up. I do like their thick cable necklaces but I baulk at paying £100 or more for a silver necklace.

Jewellery is 80% about how you wear it in my opinion.

RaraRachael · 23/12/2025 18:05

I don't get what the fuss is all about but our local town has 2 Pandora shops and they're queued out the door

Smell?! What does jewellery smell of?

I think that was a digression to Barbour jackets 😆

Oh, fair enough 😄

Belladog1 · 23/12/2025 18:24

I love my Pandora jewellery because my partner bought them. I wear a necklace with my birth stone on it 365 days a year. I have a beautiful ring too, and yes, I have a charm bracelet. It's gorgeous and each charm has sentimental meaning.

KitsyWitsy · 23/12/2025 18:36

TeaRoseTallulah · 22/12/2025 14:22

You haven't heard the joke about about Barbour then?😂

What's that? I have two Barbour jackets! Pretty much everyone round here has one. Posh market town full of dog walkers!

KitsyWitsy · 23/12/2025 18:38

Some bits from Pandora are nice enough but overall, I find it tacky and common. I wouldn't go there but sometimes I see ads with jewellery I like the design of, however I probably wouldn't like the quality if I saw it in person.

Blueuggboots · 23/12/2025 19:12

I hate the bracelets!! I’m very much live and let live (and lots of my friends love them and I have bought them charms because that’s what they’ve asked for) but would be disappointed if someone bought me one!

ChristmasCwtch · 23/12/2025 20:28

I have an aversion to Pandora that I don’t understand… a bit like Bayliss & Harding 😂 I just don’t like it.

KentishBob · 23/12/2025 20:33

Cheap, poor quality, poor value

BebbanburgIsMine · 23/12/2025 20:55

KentishBob · 23/12/2025 20:33

Pandora isn’t cheap!

I don’t think it’s poor quality or poor value either.

I’ve only been able to buy mine due to an inheritance, I also bought handmade Celtic and Norse jewellery made in Orkney and Shetland

PinkRug · 23/12/2025 21:02

I used to like it. The charms and the rings. But the cost of them is just not worth it anymore. I lost a charm my in laws gave me. I was gutted, so I bought a fake. I could not figure the difference. It was my second fake charm , both barely more than a tenner, and they’ve stood time.

I didn’t mind the rings til I started buying at Thomas Sabo. I definitely prefer them.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 23/12/2025 21:04

Pandora charm bracelets are dated imo.

But if you like them? Wear them.

I can definitely see teens liking them. We were obsessed with charm bracelets and Thomas Sabo “back in the days”…
