It's the new-era high street jeweller

Tacky ? cheap ? thoughts ?

It's fine! Other than the traditional charm bracelets, it's pretty similar sterling silver jewellery that you will find from most other jewellers. Can't see anything tacky about the necklaces, bangles or earrings- nobody would know if they were Pandora or any other brand just by looking at them. I have quite a few pieces from there- all sturdy and well made and solid silver.

Looks like I’m common and chavy with a side of tacky. I love my Pandora bangles and happily wear them with my Cartier tennis bracelet.

Same! We should be flayed alive 🤣🤣

BashfulClam · 22/12/2025 14:54

Mine was given to me by my husband with a beautiful little charm, all the charms I now have mean something to me. I also have charms from New York, Paris, Barcelona and Prague, great little souvenirs. Need to put my Christmas charms on it.

DeadMemories · 22/12/2025 14:56

Im not really interested in Pandora but ex bought me a bracelet one year, after taking advise from his crush who had 2 and bought me one even though i have never shown any interest in one before.

Then before you know it everyone buys you charms for it.

I have hardly worn it and i feel so guilty when i look at it as its just not my thing but it was bought for me and the charms from my adult kids. I find it very clunky and big.

As he is my ex now i dont feel so guilty anymore. Luckily my DH knows the type of things i do like.

Clearinguptheclutter · 22/12/2025 14:58

Alright if you’re a teenager

tacky it you’re not

TallulahBetty · 22/12/2025 14:59

I like it. Horses for courses - but no one needs to be as rude as some of you on here. Say you don't like it; no need for 'tacky'

Saz12 · 22/12/2025 15:02

Jewellery is quite personal, so it would be wierd if everyone liked the same thing. At least if it's divisive it suggests it's not bland...

SleafordSods · 22/12/2025 15:03

Looks like is is a little like marmite from the thread. Personally I was delighted wheb an older relative asked for one of the charm bracelets as they’re always so hard to buy for. Now if I’m stuck for ideas they can have another charm.

Oh joy! Another thread where all the sheep can tell us how naff we are 🙄.

Are you a sheep if you have Pandora or don’t have Pandora? I can’t keep up. Although sheep avoid both Pandora and Monica v, favouring Tiffany.

JudgeBread · 22/12/2025 15:11

I hate it, but I don't begrudge people who like it or think they're tacky or cheap or anything. It's just different tastes.

Honestly it makes them really easy to buy presents for.

Exactly, Pandora is not my thing but i wouldnt be rude enough to call it cheap or tacky and slag it off as some people really love it and proudly wear it.

NiceCupOfChai · 22/12/2025 15:15

I don’t own any Pandora, I’m not into charm bracelets, but if I saw earrings in Pandora that I liked I’d buy them. I’m not fussed about brand.

Like most of these things, it’s horses for courses isn’t it. If you like it buy it, if you don’t then stay away, but no need for cheap/tacky comments.

Isayitasitis · 22/12/2025 15:24

I love pandora rings.

What on earth is meant to be wrong with a Barbour jacket? A substantial proportion of rural Britain is clad in Barbour jackets?!

This is quite the over-reaction?

Qenntinn · 22/12/2025 15:29

I don't like Pandora stuff.

I do like the Monica Vinader designs, but wouldn't actually buy them because I like solid gold stuff. If anyone knows of similar designs in actual gold, I would be very grateful for the tip...

The TV ad is a disgrace. The suggestion that a young boy who is about 10/11 should buy his mother a bracelet costing £££ is appalling.

It is horrible and not as good as the cadbury's dairy milk ad that did similar but with the girl paying with buttons and a unicorn...

blankcanvas3 · 22/12/2025 15:41

I don’t like the charm bracelets but they have some other jewellery which is v pretty

Insanely overpriced for sterling silver and gold-plating. The place I get my jewelry from charges £9-12 for sterling silver OR gold-plated. Pandora wants £55 for one of their (mostly ugly, nothing special) small “gold-plated” charms. If you know someone who absolutely loves Pandora or collects it or something, buy for half-price used. I imagine places like pawn shops might be overloaded with Pandora.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 22/12/2025 16:00

I wasnt a fan. But...on a recent trip to see family I haven't seen for decades they bought me a bracelet with charms. DH was watching me carefully as he knows my taste. They had chosen charms with love to reflect the country and our family links. So bugger it, i love it, i wear it all the time. But, ive made it quite clear to dh and dc that I do not want any more charms.

Southwest12 · 22/12/2025 16:08

I'm clearly tacky then as I've got 8 Pandora bangles on, but only have one charm on 3 of them. I don't like the full charm bracelets, just the plain bangles. I got a new one in Venice last month for my 50th, has a small heart charm with Venezia on it.

mazedasamarchhare · 22/12/2025 16:33

it was very popular about 10 years ago, clever marketing, and items would often be brought out for a limited amount of time, which fed into the ‘must have’ mentality. It is mass produced, but having said all of that some of the items have been well designed and the quality is perfectly reasonable. My DD likes to change her beads on her bracelet, and she likes being able to fiddle with the some of the charms. It’s always easy to get a charm for her stocking or birthday present.
I’d rather have something in sterling silver than costume jewellery. But that’s just my personal preference, my mum loved costume jewellery, she was always worried about wearing or losing anything valuable, but she loved her sparkly paste ‘jewels’.
wear what you like, gives you confidence and gives you pleasure.

Thisismyalterego · 23/12/2025 13:47

When DS and Ddil were getting married, we were talking about what jewellery she was going to wear and she said she didn't really have anything suitable. I asked ds if he was planning to buy anything. He wasn't, so I offered to buy her wedding jewellery as my personal gift to her. She chose a set from Pandora. It looked lovely on the day. Unfortunately, it also turned her skin black, so she has never worn it again. Shame, because it looked lovely and wasn't cheap. But the quality wasn't great. X

ManyPigeons · 23/12/2025 14:11

It was the new era jeweller when I was a teenager 15 years ago. Now it’s a cop out gift. Blokes line the street this week waiting to go inside and point at anything on display for their wife/girlfriend because it’s jewellery so it’ll do.

0 thought, cheap price, tacky and only cool to tweens.

Tosserneighbour · 23/12/2025 16:15

Overpriced and awful. Might be OK for kids.

FairyMaclary · 23/12/2025 16:37

I don’t follow any fashion and buy most of my jewellery from Etsy or one off small craft people. I don’t spend a lot but if I like it I’ll wear it regardless of cost.

My daughter bought me a Pandora bracelet many years ago and I never take it off. Its lasted very well (despite regularly being submerged in water). She chose one lovely bead and I don’t want any more for it. The bracelet is dainty but solid from a discontinued range and it’s lovely. Possibly my favourite item of jewellery due to who bought it from her weekend job wages.

I have bought one for my tween and I think she will like it too.
