for out out in a northern city tomorrow night. Food, drinks and inevitable dancing in gay bars.

Was originally thinking little black dress + heels but have decided I want to be more comfortable.

Will I do?

The jeans are OK, the top is hideous sorry.

Together it looks a bit fancy dress. For example switching out the top for a black t-shirt tucked in with the rest of the outfit would give it a vintage inspired feel without feeling over the top.

Think it’s verging into fancy dress. I would swap out the top to something a little less on the nose 70s vibe.

I love all of those things but then they are the gear of my misspent youth.i still wear those trousers though....love them.

I think this is a great outfit and if you can't wear sparkly/shiny things at Christmas, when can you? You won't be the most dressed up person by far.

Surely the fact it's Northern is irrelevant. It slaps of taking the piss out of the yokels with an outfit that screams 70's fancy dress, not glamourous Christmas city centre night out.

Fancy dress is more of a goal to me than an insult tbf #maximalist 😆

@ThePerfectWeekend I just mentioned northern so that people didn't think I was in London where dressing up is verboten.

My daughter goes out in stuff like this all the time. Preferably in hot pants rather than jeans, that's her style. Young people dress in vintage all the time now, don't take any notice of those on here. It's a fun outfit, you will have fun.
