Where's the fun in that!!!

There's a group of women on MN who like to post on Style and Beauty sneering at other women who like clothes or enjoy dressing up. It's a bit weird as a hobby but it takes all sorts, and it's gone on as long as I've read MN - 20 years - so I don't think we'll ever be free of it.

What would be the point of spending years developing a brand image if it didn’t give you a pretty strong pointer as to the look and style of a piece of clothing?

I always dress up for an evening out, don’t care what anything else is wearing or thinks!

Oh yes - I remember committing the cardinal sin of asking what to wear to the Chiltern Firehouse. It hadn’t been open for more than a couple of months but I was treated to gems such as it was so “over”, that if I had to ask I wasn’t their type of customer, and of course the “Well I just drop in most days and just throw on whatever’s on the floor.”

Zara plisse (very fine pleated) black knee length skirt and either black net with bronze sequins bodysuit (Silk Fred) or Zara sequinned black tight/draped top. Add John Lewis velvet with diamante buckle shoes or Oliver Bonas Western pewter ankle boots. Add black sequinned blazer (forget where from).

Or a Next dark grey sparkle pleated fine knitted v neck dress with silver sparkle, black River Island thicker camisole underneath it. Next Forever Comfort range court shoes and Oliver Bonas cream, black and gold cardigan or sequinned blazer.

Add diamante jewellery though I prefer slightly bohemian dressy jewellery and recently bought some dangly earrings that looked sort of All Saints in style from a vintage shop in Bromley.

It is one of the sorrows of my life that I can only wear silver and therefore can’t wear wonderful bohemian dangly earrings from hippy shops.

Oh fgs. Posts like that fill me with fury. People like that just don’t know how lucky they are and get a kick out of trying to make others feel small. May their scruffy trainers give them bunions and their casually thrown on outfits be infested with lice.

@Verite1 I bought mine 15/16 years ago. It’s a classic and it just fits still. Crazy prices now.
