Tried the dedcool and I wasn't getting afternoon delight vibes, more ambre vanille. I like the scent but its so chemically, brought my hand up to my nose to smell and got a horrible burning sensation on my lips and skin. This may be an issue for me. Its got that slightly citrussy vanilla thing going on could be a dupe for ambre vanille but if its going to irritate my skin, not good.

I think letting it absorb first before trying to smell it is wise.

Yes it's quite similar to Ambre Vanille too. I was a bit disappointed with AB after wanting it for ages and I don't tend to reach for it. I think I like the DedCool one better despite being alike.

IDontHateRainbows · 16/10/2025 20:48

Dedcool is growing on me - not sure whether I like it more than ambre vanille, it has more of a gourmand feel to it. Not got on with this brand before so quite impressed.

Definitley not keeping the MG strawberry, blanche, lazy sunday or mimosa candle.

Going to amass my huge pile of fragrances tomorrow and decide what to sell, keep and leave in limbo for further deliberation. WFH day so I can spritz galore.

It is a grower. I was the same yesterday.

How would you describe M&G Strawberry? Not sure if to open it from the cellophane or not just yet. Is there anything that's similar that springs to mind?

BakeOffRewatch · 16/10/2025 21:35

This sounds really nice. Might go try it tomorrow. Limited edition coconut milk wood fragrance. £140 for 100ml, hopefully in the 20% off in rewards week. Is anyone planning to buy anything when they do the fragrance discount? https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/guest-author/beauty-drop-rewards.html I’ve been looking and it’s really annoying and inconsistent, they’ve excluded anything I actually want on the skincare and haircare days so won’t get my hopes up. Anything that was in, was available at Cult Beauty where I can get a better discount.

www.libertylondon.com/uk/milk-orchid-eau-de-parfum-100ml-000860323.html

  • Top Notes: Fig Milk, Coconut Cream
  • Heart Notes: Vanilla Orchid, Magnolia
  • Bottom Notes: Macadamia Milk, Sandalwood
”A floral rendition of the Milk Expressive fragrance, Commodity’s Milk Orchid eau de parfum embraces fig milk and magnolia with coconut cream – a limited-edition, airy aroma laced with lactonic notes. This milky fold opens with a warm, tart olfactive grasp, settling into a cosy blend of macadamia milk and sandalwood. A gourmand dream, it invites moments of nostalgia-infused comfort – a scent reminiscent of timeless indulgence.”

Laura Merrcier Ambre Vanille? I dont find them similar at all. I love Ambre Vanille as bed time scent and I dont like Taunt at all. Maybe it can grow on me but I dont find them similar at all.

Dedcool are very oily, probably better for your skin as it feels gentle but be carefull spraying on clothes

MiaN · 16/10/2025 22:14

Or maybe not good for your skin if its irritating. I will skin test it tomorrow to see if I like it little more but had sample before and didn't love the brand. I may try the layering suggestion

I sold it sealed as id tried it ages ago, found it a bit sickly but Im not generally a strawberry fan.

Its not what you imagine when you hear the name, it's more green perfume than sweet - I will try it again in the summer as its just not the season for it. Its interesting, but something I would have bought myself but happy to get to know

Its supposed to be like white strawberry in the nature with the greenery around, not like sweet artificial desserts type of smell

MiaN · 17/10/2025 06:33

Dedcool oilyness is annoying me and I nearly feel I can smell it . I am going to try layering it with few perfumes that I wish are little sweeter like burning cherry before deciding. I don't like the brand on general so its probably not going to be for me. I love ambre vanilla at bed time as it feels soft and comforting, I don't find it ambery at all, I think the name of it is misleading. Dedcool is more ambery. However I don't find it plastic smelling like I get from many vanilla perfumes, so there is a hope

MiaN · 17/10/2025 07:03

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille notes - Tangerine, Tiger Orchid and Heliotrope, and enhanced by Almond, Brown Sugar, Coconut and musky Sandalwood.
It smells like almond, coconut and brown sugar with since freshness from the tangerine and smoothness from the sandlewood.

Taunt notes
Top: bergamot, dew
Heart: floral, cassis
Base: vanilla, amber
Its actually ambery, the Laura Mercier name is just not reflective of the scent as its not Ambery at all.

Full disclosure LM was not love of first sniff so I will try to be open minded for Taunt too

IDontHateRainbows · 17/10/2025 08:55

Woke up to the happy news of a tax rebate and unexpected £600 paid into my account, fellow perfumistas i did ot go bad but treated myself to a mini replica afternoon delight and jazz club, and a LM ambre vanille exfoliating body wash. All bought on discount so less than £30.

Have put the rest away in savings.

Getting more into Taunt and I reckon its even nicer than AV.

Also wearing DS Durga pistachio, I had a spray of this but also got the rollerball in SNK. I like it but the dank description a PO mentioned on the other thread is all I can think of..is Dank bad? Its patchouli I guess. Anyway, still like it.

Of to take stock of my enormous stash today.

Oh wow!! £600 rebate! I'd be spending that on more ACs 🤣 I picked up a mini AV body cream freebie at the hbeauty event a few weeks ago, I'm looking forward to using it, it smells delish 😋

I love the hand cream. It was in an edit box and is the nicest one I've used.

Whoohoo Rainbows, how nice! And smart to put some in savings.

I wish you live close by - we could probably share advents as we often like completely different fragrances!

Happy to do swaps on any we think the other would like as yes we seem to have quite opposite tastes with only a few that we both love (gris charnel for example)

4160Ts Dancing with Strangers today, sweet violet and rose to cheer me up.

JoRaRaRa · 17/10/2025 13:08

Chloe Le parfum this morning, I only have a little sample of this, I love it but it's not on my list due to the amount of perfume I've bought recently. Now FDB sirene, I managed to get another 10ml of this on vinted last night, so I now have 3 10ml bottles, that should last me a while 🥰

That was me picking out the word “dank” in the perfume description. The perfume could be lovely. “Dank” is used as a negative adjective for a moist musty tangy damp smell like you get in basements or somewhere with a leak. Slang wise it’s used negatively as well. I was very surprised to see it used in the description, I don’t know who they’re trying to target with that. What does it smell like to you?

BakeOffRewatch · 17/10/2025 13:28

I went to Liberty this morning and tried Commodity milk orchid https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/milk-orchid-eau-de-parfum-100ml-000860323.html . It’s lovely. Had it on about 3 hours now and it stays the way it sprays. Really lovely warm and interesting. Good sillage, not crazy like the BORNTOSTANDOUT extreme extrait. They had an offer on today but two perfumes for £140 each (think implied it’s increasing?), you get a £80 candle Milk free and a sample set that they’re selling for £26. I was given a 7.5ml Milk sample, whatever the original one is, to try.

It is really nice. I bought it on pre order from the Commodity website at the beginning of Sep but it's still not arrived. It did say it would be arriving in October so I'm a bit miffed it's on sale in Liberty and they haven't fulfilled the website orders.

My friend managed to get one in the first drop before they sold out so gave me her travel size that comes with it to be going on with.

If you would like it I'd be happy to send you my travel size when the set finally arrives.

MiaN · 17/10/2025 13:57

I get people complaining about HN having small perfumes in it but they are not messing around with their selection. They are picking very highly rated perfumes and if you don't like them you will be able to sell many. I have sold 3 for 64 euro so far, making the advent costing 141e. For that price for what we are keeping it's really amazing deal.

Dank is actually a positive word in slang terms for the gen z generation. It’s weird how language evolves. It does mean musty but it was also a word
used to describe high quality marijuana which then in turn made the word as something ‘cool’ or positive. It’s like wow that’s dank - ‘wow that’s dope’.

I had no idea @paristotokyo ! Think I’ve skipped that generation. I’m a millennial with under 5yo kids. K-pop demon hunters is the first time in a long time I feel I’ve tapped into what’s popular.
