Morning!
A new thread. Autumn beckons, lets hope we get some interesting looks to discuss!

I know what you mean, @Costume , but isn't that just the guipure lace? I think some parts stand proud, iyswim.

The blue silk Joseph gown looks lovely. Very modest, as appropriate to the country.

Yes, that’s what I meant by the flower stamens. I still don’t think they should poke out from the wrong/inside of the dress.

Yes, I see what you mean.

Insta has just shown me a post about Kate's rings so I thought I'd share. Apparently at the recent funeral she had five (my fingers are too short for that many, even thin ones!).

I admired Letizia's white dress back on the previous thread when someone posted the link to pics of the Egyptian trip. Glad it's getting more attention now. Re-posting my older post here:

Letizia's white dress from Day 1 is wonderful. The skirt has plenty of volume, but what I love is that the whole dress seems to be cutwork embroidery - a large floral design. If I'm right then real artistry went into creating it. The effect is so simple, so un-blingy, yet absolutely beautiful.

(I don't know much about embroidery, but my great grandma had some table cloths decorated with embroidery like this appears to be: small shapes cut out of the fabric to create the design, with the cut edges finished like buttonholes. I can't remember seeing anything that looked similar before.)

The Tindalls were there. Catherine went to one of the earlier matches against Australia

I'd rather have the Tindalls at a rugby event.

The shape and style of Letis dress reminded me of my mother and aunt, tiny waist, full skirt, with petticoats underneath. So glamorous and stylish. 💗

Can appreciate the work in the white dress, but love the depth of colour in the blue

She's wearing a white linen outfit, the jacket is by an Egyptian designer. The jacket is slightly too safari adjacent for my taste, but is redeemed by pairing it with the the loose fit trousers. Leti is also trying out different low heeled shoes.

It's very elegant and just right for the occasion.

Thanks, @frugalkitty - I'm guessing the extra 3 bands are for the birth of the children?
I couldn't manage that many rings on my fingers!

OP posts:
Choux · 28/09/2025 20:26

@frugalkitty yes I noticed that in the photos this week. The sapphire and diamond eternity ring was first spotted post her cancer treatment I think. It seemed initially to be her off duty alternate engagement ring - to be honest her original one is so big it can’t be practical when looking after the kids or being active so I imagine it doesn’t get much wear outside of official engagements.

But now she is wearing both together - maybe she has lost weight and the big ring is too loose or perhaps the new ring already has such sentimental value that she doesn’t want to take it off when she is ‘being the Princess of Wales’. I don’t think much is known about the ring nearest her nail as that is the most recent one to appear.

Not sure if this has been shared previously (apologies if it has) but I like Sophie in this casual suit at a Penelope Chilvers launch event. The colour and style really suit her.

I don't think it has, @RomainingCalm , thanks. She does look nice, very autumnal.

Lovely suit on Sophie

Pallisers · 29/09/2025 15:01

I love the material in Leti's white dress - a real work of art. I would have preferred to see it in something closer to this shape (my all-time favourite look on QEII) - photo 20 if the link doesn't work

I’m a bit of a diamond ring addict so I’m pleased to see those rings on Kate. Usually the royal women stick with a simple gold band under their engagement rings I think? Anyway I’m currently sporting six! Three on my wedding finger and three on same finger right hand. If I could fit more on I would! Each has a special story though

Eaumyword · 29/09/2025 18:48

Love those tonal colours on Sophie. She looks fab there.

Pallisers · 29/09/2025 19:16

I love the stacked ring look - but prefer it without coloured stones. I have four diamond rings on my ring finger. My wedding band is diamonds, my engagement ring is a solitaire set in a matching diamond band and then I have my mother's diamond eternity ring and my dh's great grandmother's diamond band. They bring me joy every day.

I like that photo as they blend in, as in unless you were an expert on the Orange's or maybe one of us 🤔😂 you'd probably not recognise them.
Though we'd be more likely to think they look familiar & probably say hello thinking it's someone we know from the village, the school run or the lady from gym etc 😂

I guess the suits are their protection officers & maybe the people behind.

mathanxiety · 30/09/2025 04:10

Thanks for the thread!

I think Sophie's suede (?) shoes should have been left at home. The suit was very nice.
