It's just not possible to look slim and elegant with big boobs is it

I saw an article about Kelly Brook, she has a new business venture so is posting a lot on social including a post today of her cycling in a bikini! I think she's facially really beautiful and although she's put on some weight since her lads mag days I wouldnt call her especially large. But because she has big boobs that's all you see and it gives the impression she's bigger than she is.

It's so depressing as a fellow big-boobed person. I am overweight and nowhere near as pretty but I feel even if/when I lose weight I'll never really look slim or stylish.

Is there any way round this? Minimiser bras are awful and normal ones are hideously uncomfortable. I'm tired of either looking tarty or matronly.

This isn’t about wanting bigger or smaller boobs though. You probably mean you’d like to be a D cup. So would most the women posting here.

It’s about having breasts to large for clothes, for exercise, for general activity. It’s about being sexualised all of the time. It’s about pain. It’s about bras that cost at least £50.

Please don’t compare having small breasts to large breasts because they’re completely different situations. Think about how you come across with glib comments. Large breasts are debilitating and disabling.

Think about how you come across being nasty when all I did was pointing out to the OP that we all want what we don't have. The thread was about looking elegant so hardly about disabilites linked to large breasts🙄

I think you can if very slim but it is harder. I'm a size 8/10 with 30FF boobs and still look slim (though with massive boobs) when I'm at my ideal weight. I have a very small frame so my ideal weight is at the lower end of my BMI range. It only takes half a stone weight gain though (which all goes on my waist/upper hips) and I start to look lumpy and matronly. It also helps that I'm tall (5' 9").

I never look elegant but that's more to do with my personality and wild hair than anything else though.

I agree. If you are carrying any extra weight and have big boobs you just look enormous.

i think Kelly brook is pretty big. She looks size 16-18 to me with a size 20 bust. So the boobs do make her look bigger but if she was slim I think whilst her boobs would still be on the larger size, she’d just look like a slim woman with big boobs.

Maybe take up football or rugby - the women’s teams all seem to have small boobs - I don’t know why this is as they are not skinny.

It's so frustrating that even if you lose loads of weight they still don't really reduce!

The other thing that really bugs me is it I find a dress or jacket that fits my bust, it's HUGE on my hips, whereas I'm really very slim hipped. So again, I look bigger than I really am.

Must depend on the person. My boobs are noticeably larger or smaller depending on my level of body fat

I’m on the smaller side of big (28f) but find things that are fitted but not stretchy or skintight work best but you have to either tailor or tuck to achieve that look.
Also wraparound dresses and cropped tops and high waistlines work well for me too

LaurieFairyCake · 07/09/2025 20:22

Yes, I tuck everything in even though I’m short waisted. Makes me look way smaller

Appalonia · 07/09/2025 20:30

Actually having abnormally large boobs DOES affect your life in ways not just related to fashion. Unfortunately. And if you don't have them you won't know what that's like.

But if you read the whole thread it has moved on somewhat. I found your comment disrespectful and rude to the many women here who had explained how bad it is.

Your comment was about wanting what we don’t have not about elegance so no closer to the OP than mine.
