Which clothes retailer going bust would you be most affected by?

I’m not sure as the last ten items I bought were all from different places, but maybe that is the challenge for retailers these days, they have lost their identities and with it their loyalty and clear customer base.

Potentially Next. Turns out I could easily live without M&S.

Uniqlo! No one can fill that space

jay55 · 18/08/2025 17:51

M&S they have seen me through sizes 14-24, now I’m back at a 14 I have more choices but still use M&S a whole lot.

blowingbubbles1 · 18/08/2025 17:53

Zara

RobinEllacotStrike · 18/08/2025 17:58

Manners London - just a small indie company but I buy more clothing from there than anywhere else.

I have very little brand "loyalty" these days, & ridiculous virture signalling & undermining rights of women & girls by so many high street fashion companies puts me off most of them these days.

PoppySaidYesIKnow · 18/08/2025 17:58

Fat Face

itsabeautifuldayjuly · 18/08/2025 17:59

M&S for school uniforms, h&m for everything else.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 18/08/2025 18:00

Uniqlo

Gliblet · 18/08/2025 18:00

Toss up between George/Asda and Peacocks - although if Primark stop doing their hidden support pj's any time soon I shall be Very Sad.

BigSkies2022 · 18/08/2025 18:03

Another COS- dependent shopper here.

Blingismything · 18/08/2025 18:32

M&S and Uniqlo.

MondeoFan · 18/08/2025 18:35

M&S love their underwear

ThatNattyPlayer · 18/08/2025 18:35

ASOS

declutteringmymind · 18/08/2025 18:37

Zara M&S Primark

Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice · 18/08/2025 18:39

I would really really miss Uniqlo.

PermanentTemporary · 18/08/2025 18:40

John Lewis
M&S

Otherwise it’s all over the place. EBay would be bad, I buy a lot of used stuff there.

SpecialMilkMonitor · 18/08/2025 18:45

YABU to be so needlessly cruel to former Matches customers, @TheOGCCL.

We are still mourning its loss.

hangerup · 18/08/2025 18:45

I'm still grieving Matches

hangerup · 18/08/2025 18:46

And Topshop pre covid

coffeeagogo · 18/08/2025 18:46

Next and New Look -they have brilliant tall ranges and we are woefully underserved by most retailers (John Lewis looking at you)

Missingmarbles1 · 18/08/2025 18:47

I still miss Bravissimo. Nothing else has ever come close.

RedRiverShore5 · 18/08/2025 18:50

Seasalt or Fatface. I can see a time though when it is just Next left as it just buys everything up.

i like Next though

BridgetRandomfuck · 18/08/2025 19:08

Would have to be Uniqlo for me, it’s the only place I buy new clothes from, everything else is from charity shops or Vinted. I live in their bra vest tops in summer, and their jeans are great. They’ve also produced my new favourite bra, which I bought all the colour ways of when it was slashed to 70% off in the sale 😁

user1471548941 · 18/08/2025 19:14

I actually think SweatyBetty. I like dresses from an Australian brand called Forever New and also love Sezane knitwear. But think I could probably find alternatives elsewhere.

Literally 100% of my casual at home clothes and all of my running kit is SB and I have no idea how I’d find leggings that do the job as well as Power!

Nextdoormat · 18/08/2025 19:15

Love Vinted, can afford better quality clothes at a fraction of the original price. M&S for coats and jackets. Schuh for footwear.

CarefullyCuratedFurniture · 18/08/2025 19:21

Hobbs and Seasalt. If those two went, I'd end up naked. I like M&S for underwear, but there are plenty of decent alternatives.
