Which clothes retailer going bust would you be most affected by?

I’m not sure as the last ten items I bought were all from different places, but maybe that is the challenge for retailers these days, they have lost their identities and with it their loyalty and clear customer base.

Potentially Next. Turns out I could easily live without M&S.

Still miss pepperberry, their clothes fitted me properly

susiedaisy1912 · 18/08/2025 15:37

M&S

3rdtimeinflorida · 18/08/2025 15:58

NEXT! Love their clearance section, all of their sales and customer service is spot on.

henlake7 · 18/08/2025 15:59

Def Primark, get pretty much all my basics from there.
And pjs, I dont think I own a pair of pjs that arent Primark!

SaladRoger · 18/08/2025 16:04

Vinted

redsnoozer · 18/08/2025 16:06

I’m very relieved to see so many saying M&S and Next, those would be mine! But reading many threads in here you’d think they were avoided by everyone!

Ilovegermany · 18/08/2025 16:10

It already happened to me last year - Esprit went bust and this year I have spent a fraction of the money that I spent on clothes every year previously. I can’t find anything else that fits as well.

Ihateboris · 18/08/2025 16:13

Vinted, Ebay and Vestiaire. I haven't bought anything new in a couple of years as I think the quality of stuff has gone downhill 😕

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 18/08/2025 16:19

M&S and Next for me too.

PuppyMonkey · 18/08/2025 16:48

Yep, the answer to this is Vinted.

buswankerbabe · 18/08/2025 16:49

Zara
H&M
M&S
Next

coukd happily live without the rest of them.

StasisMom · 18/08/2025 16:51

H&M and its family stores, eg Arket etc

SwedishEdith · 18/08/2025 16:53

Uniqlo and John Lewis.
Never even look in Next, Zara or H&M.

kimbear87 · 18/08/2025 16:54

I need Uniqlo.

PeonyPatch · 18/08/2025 17:09

Zara

LittlleMy · 18/08/2025 17:25

Prior to hitting 50, I’d say Dorothy Perkins but now M&S especially since they widened their Petite range.

FurForksSake · 18/08/2025 17:25

Next.

whiteroseredrose · 18/08/2025 17:28

M&S. Most of my clothes come from there. I buy Seasalt too - but I buy that from the M&S website too.

evilharpy · 18/08/2025 17:32

Definitely vinted. But I would really mourn H&M amd Sainsburys.

If Vinted didn't exist and I was back to buying new, I would miss Zara and All Saints.

crazycatladie · 18/08/2025 17:45

Next

soupyspoon · 18/08/2025 17:46

All the charity shops!!

Also Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys.

Catwoman8 · 18/08/2025 17:47

BarbieKew · 18/08/2025 12:29

I’m still mourning the loss of Oasis and Warehouse to be honest. Struggled to find my shopping vibe ever since.

I lived in Oasis clothes, really struggled when it shut.

MindytheWonderHorse · 18/08/2025 17:48

Toast and Finisterre

Catwoman8 · 18/08/2025 17:48

Next, not just for Next own branded stuff but they sell all sorts of brands online now and it is so quick and easy to get things delivered.

Nitgel · 18/08/2025 17:49
