I quite liked these trousers but both my DM and DH they didn’t do em any favours but I still liked them! So wanted to know other opinions :)

I think you should try them with a black shoe OP.

Just one shoe? That will look odd. Or one black one white?

Ladybyrd · 17/08/2025 06:52

I like them but I think they’d work better with a black top.

CharlotteSometimes1 · 17/08/2025 07:33

They’re dated and they don’t fit well.

PistachioTiramisuLimoncello · 17/08/2025 08:16

They are the wrong length on you. The model is really tall so they are 3/4 length on her. You could take them up if you really want the pedal pusher effect op…. Or just look for something else, similar that suits your height?

I just saw them and they were cheap. I tend to like ankle or 7/8 length trousers but they’re not super easy to find.

I have short legs and a biggish bum so I get that they’re probably not for me, but oh well!

I also only tend to buy things on sale it’s like a golden rule for me.

oh and I don’t like wide legs either, I feel they just make my legs look even shorter and my bum bigger and shapeless. Not a fan of skinny jeans either.

i like straight trousers

OP posts:
CVVFan · 17/08/2025 08:26

Because I’m difficult with my fit, I tend to not buy online. So I try to buy in places where I can try them on. Or try them at home and return them.

KaitlynnFairchild · 17/08/2025 08:28

I think they are nice and make your bum look great.

Mint Velvet do them in petite length online - not sure whether you tried the regular in store?

Yeah it was the regular size. They don’t make them in petite though

Aren’t capri trousers slim fit? They look too wide.

Based on the OP’s posting history, the OP has posted the photo (not the first time the Op has posted pictures of her body on mumsnet) to get posters to compliment her body.

This is an Op with body issues. The outfit was simply a tactic to bring posters to comment.

Is this true OP?

Not at all!
I know I’m short but have a decent body for my weight!

and the whole story about these trousers is true!

Misshavishamsgrudge · 17/08/2025 09:56

I think the fit looks good. I’m a big advocate for wear what makes you feel good and happy. If we all wore exactly the same it would be boring and sad. Most of the influencers I see are wearing something that stands out, is very different, but worn with confidence and that’s what seems to give them the audience.

CVVFan · 16/08/2025 16:18

They both said they looked too small and gave me a belly that I normally don’t have

They’re not wrong I’m afraid

DeLaRuiz · 17/08/2025 13:00

Honestly, what a ridiculous model, she has zero shape and looks 7 ft tall. Might as well hang them on a tree.

They are quite jolly trousers, is my main impression. I think the jacket and shoes don’t go. Black or red shoes and top, better.

I am ‘much older’ - and prefer to buy clothes that bear some relation to contemporary fashion.

As this poster said, @ZaZathecat I know some 'much older' people, and they wouldn't be seen dead in those trousers. 😬

That's no better than fat shaming.

They do (short, regular and long) albeit all the short sizes are out of stock so academic!

No, I disagree very strongly. The model is used to fat shame. The average size in the UK is size 16. The average height is 5 ft 3.

sunshinechaser · 17/08/2025 13:36

I think you look slim in them but capri style trousers are really dated now. I’m 51 and would never wear capri trousers. I wear wide leg or barrel leg/tapered trousers. I think they are too old for you although you do look nice in them. Depends how bothered you are about wearing fashionable clothes.

From what I can gather from past posts…. There absolutely is some truth to this
