I quite liked these trousers but both my DM and DH they didn’t do em any favours but I still liked them! So wanted to know other opinions :)

You look you and have a great figure, but the trousers look like something a much older person would wear

jamnpancakes · 16/08/2025 22:45

They look better on you than the lanky model. They are a bit " Florida America" but I like them .

Bailiwitch · 16/08/2025 22:50

I am ‘much older’ - and prefer to buy clothes that bear some relation to contemporary fashion.

It's the Chanel style jacket that's giving Emily Gilmore vibes I think.

😂

Noshadelamp · 16/08/2025 22:57

Cracking me up all the pp saying they are too short! They're obviously not meant to be full length.

They are cute and look great on you! And I would say are age appropriate - what age does your DH think would be wearing them??

It’s because they are much longer than they’re meant to be, so they’ve ended up just looking like trousers that are a bit short.

mathanxiety · 16/08/2025 23:04

I don't think they fit you right.

PringlesTube · 16/08/2025 23:06

The capri length doesn’t work for you, sorry. They just look like they’re too short.

AnotherDayAnotherDog · 16/08/2025 23:10

From the side your slim neat figure is clear, but from the front they make you look tubby. It’s the cut and material that’s unflattering I think not the pattern.

DelilahMy · 16/08/2025 23:13

I really like them but I would wear with black top (or jumper or top and dark jacket).

SunnyPrague · 16/08/2025 23:15

I don’t think they are stylish or flattering but if you like them wear them.

Don’t like them, they look frumpy, especially with the white top and shoes, maybe if you had a grey top and grey shoes it would look better but I think it would only be a small improvement

intrepidpanda · 16/08/2025 23:25

I like them. They look great on you.

WimbyAce · 16/08/2025 23:29

I think because you are short they don't look great as do not look obviously cropped on you.

Mariana95 · 16/08/2025 23:32

CVVFan · 16/08/2025 16:18

They both said they looked too small and gave me a belly that I normally don’t have

It doesn't look like you have a big belly.

I agree. There are always lots of nasty comments on here whenever a woman posts a picture of herself in an outfit on here.

I know, I was perplexed by the 'belly' comment and I'm in my 20s, size 6 (not humble bragging, just saying that as someone into fitness I think this lady looks slim!!).

I'm " much older". They're horrible. The fact I think they are horrible is irrelevant but if OP doesn't like them enough to ask on here then she doesn't like them enough to keep them.

beachwalkx · 17/08/2025 00:15

Bailiwitch · 16/08/2025 16:45

They are too small - stretched across your hips and thighs. Other than that - the length isn’t fashionable (though the next size up might hang better) but they could be made to look stylish. Rather than a bright white top cutting you off in the middle, I would try them with a black or dark green sleeveless silk shift dress or sun dress that falls to just below your knees. And some gold kitten heel slingbacks.

Then they’ll look ok.

They’re capri trousers, not meant to be worn with a dress

OriginalUsername2 · 17/08/2025 00:29

tipsyraven · 16/08/2025 22:20

They are meant to be shorter, look at the model. Op isn’t tall so they are sitting on the wrong part of her leg which look odd.

Agree, they look awkwardly short rather than purposefully cropped.

The don’t look awful but they could look so much better. I’d try a size up and see they look better.

I don’t see “a belly” at all.

Othersnotsomuch · 17/08/2025 06:23

Based on the OP’s posting history, the OP has posted the photo (not the first time the Op has posted pictures of her body on mumsnet) to get posters to compliment her body.

This is an Op with body issues. The outfit was simply a tactic to bring posters to comment.

YelloDaisy · 17/08/2025 06:25

Wear with a black t shirt and tan sandals

soupyspoon · 17/08/2025 06:35

Theres nothing wrong with (or of) your belly in the trousers

But the cut is all wrong, the legs splay out at the bottom looking like mini bell bottoms, they need to be tapered in my view, the length is fine

I wouldnt wear them with the shoes you have on

They're not my cup of tea, they're like 60s retro pattern

lol that’s what my DD said but she also said she has great style. My DM is now saying that since she’s 75 they’re more age appropriate and they’d fit her, so she might buy them for herself.

my DMs taste is super outdated but my DH isn’t so I do trust him in that regard.

I do find Mint Velvet a bit too old for me, I prefer Reiss
