Has anyone else seen this? I may be wrong but apparently filmed in June.
I know it’s about the cause, and not about what she is wearing, but I really don’t think it works as a suit.
The jacket I like, the trousers are ok although too long. Proportions seem off.

Too big I think. Wonder what the new dresser will come up with.

I haven't seen that picture , thanks @locketrocket . I really like the colour, and the design of the jacket. Very loose fit trousers are a trend now, even apparently for Kate, who as we know has been a skinnies lover for some time 😊

It’s another version of the Angela Rayner trouser suit silhouette - incredibly tricky to pull off I think, no matter your proportions.

Good lord, that Angela Rayner outfit. I like the colour (though maybe just as a blazer, rather than an entire suit. Or with white for a summer dress) but the jacket is too small and the trousers too big.

Another problem with wide legs is all that extra fabric always looks creased.

Catherine's suit fits and the wide legs aren't excessively wide.

I quite like that, and I normally hate what Kate wears.

Those trousers are awful! I don't think anyone could look good in them!

Front pleats on trousers/shorts are such a tricky thing to pull off. I’ve got some on shorts which look fine, another on trousers which make me look too rounded for my liking!

@locketrocket I'm hesitant to judge from one photo, but like you I think that suit is weird. Full marks for a lovely green colour but the styles of the jacket and trousers seem an odd mismatch. Oversized trousers that pool round the ankles are a thing right now (although not one I like or approve of), so fair enough, but they don't work with that jacket at that length.

Crop the jacket - keeping the double buttons - and you’d have something distinctive and chic, approximating Kate’s favourite silhouette, however at the length it actually is, the straight-but-close cut obscures her curves and spoils the potential contrast between fitted top and flowing bottom. Alternatively a really long straight-cut jacket (worn open) would be interesting with the trousers. An oversized boxy jacket would probably be quite fashionable, if - in my entirely irrelevant opinion! - a bit ugly.

I think the jacket needs slim, tapered trousers.

You need a washboard stomach for pleats at my 5'. 😂

I respect Angela Rayner for having a distinctive style and she usually looks much better than that. She's got a fairly classic hourglass figure - different from Catherine - yet those ultra-wide pleated trousers still don't work. I blame the pleats as she looks much better in a similar pair of trousers with a flat front (sorry, can't post images without faffing with my security settings because of how MN is set up).

Thinking about it we used to have a lot of glam MPs. who would be in the press. I can't think of any who have come to the fore with this new government. In fact I can't think of any men either.

Here are a few more pictures of Kate in the Veronica Beard suit. I think the proportions look ok here, it's definitely a more modern silhouette.

The proportions look really odd in that link in photo 1 & 3, but I like green on Kate.

It looks nice in the model photo but maybe because it's unbuttoned.

On the model, the trousers look more flares than wide. It’s difficult to tell on Catherine. I like a wide trousers but they have to be in a fabric that hangs well, otherwise they do look like a creased mess (although I suppose that’s true of any garment). Angela Rayner’s suit is a shocker. The shiny fabric, colour and fit are all wrong imo. I really like the colour of Catherine’s suit

I agree re flares on the model. I much prefer how it’s been styled there too.

@belladeli The front view of the model is a very cheaty pose. Think about how she needs to be standing and using her muscles for the shape of her right leg to be so clearly delineated and for the crotch of the trousers to be outlined as it is. Plus there's the way the pose, probably some very high heels and the flare of the trousers creates the illusion of implausibly long lower legs...

It's a model, she probably does have impossible long legs! 😆

Is this the same suit? Hard to see it probably but it looks nice here on Drew Barrymore.

Maybe the waist is too low on Kate and that's why it looks weird.

If you have an idle moment or two over the weekend maybe you could do us a montage of her suits? I was looking back at the VB one to compare (very different), but couldn't remember any others. She looks good in suits and they make a welcome change from her fairly formulaic dresses.
