How many & what handbags do you have?

I’ve always been a massive handbag lover and used to have a big collection, but in recent years sold them in favour of having only a few with very specific purposes so I know I’ll get use out of them. I hated seeing them sat there unused but still lust over the thought of having lots of gorgeous ones for all different occasions! Let me live vicariously through you by telling me what ones you have and what you use them for - I’ll go first:

Black Longchamp Le Pliage in Large - gift from my partner for my last birthday. Since becoming a mum back in April this has been my daily runaround as I can fit pretty much everything in it. The corners are starting to look tatty already which pisses me off considering it’s still quite an expensive bag!

Mint Velvet Chain Crossbody - i bought this about 4 years ago as it’s a dupe for the Saint Laurent nikki. It’s incredibly tatty and beaten up but has so many compartments and so easy to chuck on. I use this when I don’t need to carry much or want the ease.

Lulu Guinness x Waitrose Shopper - couldn't resist this at the price point and mostly just use it as an overnight bag if I’m going away.

Louis Vuitton Alma BB - a very very generous gift from my partner for my 21st birthday (many moons ago…). I will always love and cherish this bag and plan to pass it on to my daughter when she is old enough to appreciate it.

That’s it. I would like to grow this collection by adding a small crossbody that only fits the absolute essentials, and maybe a nicer overnight/travel bag.

I have 2 Le Pilages,green and orange .I use them for work , they have both seen better days but are still functional.I guess they are about 5 and 10 years old.
A mulberry Bayswater in oak which is about 10 or 15 years old and which I use for smartish occasions where I need to carry things .
I have a black Coach zipped top bag that has a long strap and I use for example as a cross body if out and about at night .It only fits one pair of specs so it is less useful to me in the day.
A blue Kate Spade cross body which I find very useful for any sort of public transport, out for the day type of occasion.
A Roka backpack in a light blue that I use as a weekend away bag or carry on travelling.
An Anya Hindmarch silver clutch for dressing up occasions.
A raffia shoulder bag for hot holidays , it carries sunglasses , book, suntan lotion, drink etc.
I think that that is about it. Several of those were presents and the newest by far is the clutch bag which I bought two years ago.
I have a few other bags that are broken or whatever and this no good to me or anyone else but that live with the ones in use on a shelf in my room .

I have no handbags. If I need to carry stuff about I use a small cheap back pack. I do not understand the obsession with handbags.

I have a burgundy Mulberry Bayswater large that I use rarely but it was a birthday gift so I’m keeping it,
A See Chloe crossbody that I bought earlier this year off vinted,
An Aspinal blue hobo that I use everyday and it’s perfect for my stuff
Just ordered an Osprey brown Lima that I can’t wait to wear
My DH wants to know how many bags I need….

I have 10 Mulberry bags of various sizes and colours ranging from a tiny purse sized one to a Bayswater. I tend to use a black Anthony as my daily bag and some of the others depending on what I’m wearing out for an evening, There are two or three I haven’t used in a very long time so I’m thinking of selling., although nearly all of them were presents from DH when he had a high paying job so maybe I should keep….

Three Strathberry bags, which I wear quite often when out for the evening, although they’re quite small so can’t get much in them.

A grey Marc Jacob’s which does get some use but probably not enough

A red Le Pliage which I use when I’m going clothes shopping and as my hand luggage on flights

A cerise pink Aspinal which I’m trying to sell, I’ve worn it once and then decided I didn’t like it

Oh god. Too many.

2x Mulberry Mitzi convertible totes - one black, one leopard print. I like to cart loads of shit around with me and use one of these most of the time.

Dark brown Mulberry Roxanne. Dated but still lovely although very heavy.

Chocolate suede hobo type bag from Tesco/Florence & Fred years ago when they used to do leather bags, I don't think they do anymore. It's a brilliant bag and looks far more expensive than it was.

Couple of Kurt Geiger mini Kensingtons - one black, one metallic rainbow (but different rainbow colours to the above and I would like one of the neon ones)

Couple of Pom Pom London cross body bags in black and tan

Couple of Sweaty Betty "All Day" cross body bags in navy and coral

All Saints coral leather cross body camera type bag, love this one, it works for both casual and smart

Another Sweaty Betty black cross body nylon bag that's looking past its best but I still love it and use it a lot

M&S silver leather cross body bag

Le Pliage medium size with short handles in a sandy colour that I rarely use because the handles are too short

Yellow Michael Kors small bag with a long strap and short handles, only ever use it in summer

Hobbs snakeskin leather tote

Topshop black suede tote - fairly knackered

All Saints black leather tote

Sweaty Betty quilted black gym bag and also a matching bum bag

A few different baskety type summer beach bags big and small, and one woven fabric one

Various Orla Kiely bags from when I had a bit of a thing about them

Scaramanga large brown leather backpack that's lovely but I never use because of dye transfer

Various other leather bags from the likes of Russell & Bromley, Hobbs, All Saints etc mainly from when I worked in an office and matched my bag to my outfit - really must have a cull

All bags within my meagre budget..but I love the expensive ones too.

Small black Bottega Venetta concert pouch. I use it as a going out bag & absolutely love it.
Natural/pinky beige bag from Charles Clinkard I bought to match a dress I was going to a wedding in.

I have at least 50 bags. None of them have a smart brand name. I just liked them at the time or I bought them to go with an outfit.

I'm finding this thread interesting.

I have very few handbags. So,

Charity shop
-a brown leather bag with tortoisehell handles. I love it.

Supermarket
-summer wicker bag with brown fake leather trim. Serviceable.
-Blue handbag with silver metal buckles.
-Dark grey handbag.

Special bags
-Louise Vuitton cross body bag that DH bought at a deceased estate auction- it still had the original tags.
-Michael Kors weekender bag that I LOVE. That was a special present for Christmas one year. It's brown leather with red trim.

All those bags basically see me through everything. I do have a couple of satin evening clutches which date from the days we attended alot of cocktail parties.

I have sold a few recently but still have too many for my lifestyle now.

I gave all my Kate Spade (all 7 of them) to the charity shop thanks to Dylan Mulvaney. The lady behind the counter was thrilled. Me less so.

@arcticpandas I'm the same as you although mine are usually from Oliver Bonas- usually last around a year!

I love handbags but buy a lot less now than I used too.

My most used is a goyard tote but I have several Chanel, Loewe and Hermes including a birkin.

Around 40? A mix of Vuitton (everything from an ancient cross body to a never full to a silver clutch), Chanel (mainly classics), Mulberry (yellow Bayswater, love it for the summer) Prada (crap, don’t recommend), Valentino (cross body & totes) a couple of Choos. Love handbags and love and use them all. Any I don’t use are given to friends/family if they want them or charity. WANT a Birkin!!!!

Just remembered I have a vintage Mulberry, Dh bought it years ago but I hate it so never used it. Apparently it's a bit special , can't remember why but started to look into selling it and the designer at the time was sought after. Need to to sort it out as it's worth too much just to sit there doing nothing when I could buy something else.

Funniest response ever..not because you’ve got 1 handbag but because you see and feel the joy 😂😂 I too have 1 handbag..it’s the 20 on the reserves bench that are the problem 😂😂

Ok so bearing this in mind, how are we selling our bags..Vinted ? FacebookMarketplace (I sold a longchamp on there, the lady bought it for her daughter and came to pick it up at my house. She was lovely and thrilled .) Vestiare? EBay?
