sexy but understated outfit for rare weekend away

Hubby and I are having a cheeky weekend away whilst our son is home from uni to look after the dogs. We are early and mid forties have been married for over 20 years. I have bought some gorgeous sexy black underwear, including suspenders (note to self don't forget to buy the stockings) to bring a bit of spice as I know he will love that.

I have booked a table for one evening in a very nice but quite relaxed restaurant. I would love put the underwear on to go out in and give him a flash enroute so he knows what he is waiting for him. However I dont want to look over dressed up, or it be so obvious that everybody else will know. I'm not thinking little black dress with seamed stocking and high heels. I think I want understated, tempting, tantalising and classy sexy rather than the full on raunchy, explicit sexy I would have done for him many moons ago.

I am about a curvy size 14, tiny waist, with huge boobs (34G), big hips, bum and quite large legs. I generally wear trousers or jeans day to day, haven't worn a short dress in years, but do wear maxi dresses in the summer. I prefer v necks or low neck because of my boobs.

I would love some some ideas, thoughts, inspiration, links photos on what I can wear over the top of the full sexy ensemble underneath. What would you wear? I think I am picturing a long dress of some description (I really don't like my legs & cankles), I don't have high heels, I do have a few pairs of kitten heels but I also don't want to look old fashioned or dated, perhaps more sexy modern fun. What shoes would you pair with the outfit too, as I am clueless on that also. I am happy to spend £200 ish if need be.

Any help will be grateful received, by me and him!

Not sure if it would work with your underwear but how about a beautiful silk camisole tucked into a high waisted midi skirt with a side slit or a wrap effect so you could flash him? The midi skirt would be gorgeous in leather or suede - something tactile to contrast against the silk cami.

High heels, a clutch bag and a blazer or cropped bomber style jacket would work well with this.

Have a fab time.

Something like this is understated but the buttons make it a little sexier when he knows what you're wearing underneath!

Gymbunny2025 · 21/02/2025 14:43

Blimey I'm not sure he'd want to sit through a 3 course meal if she was wearing that red dress @Hayley1256 🥵

I think this is perfect and can be dressed up or down for other occasions

I was going to say M & S have a lovely black soft faux leather skirt which would look great with a bright silky shirt and heels?

The skirt you can wear again during the day with a denim shirt and boots and the shirt would look great with wide leg trousers.

It’s nice, but chest pockets can be tricky if you’re larger. Also the OP isn’t keen on her ankles.

Ah yeah, I was forgetting about the chest, sadly I wasn't blessed in the nork department so it's not been an issue

Gymbunny2025 · 21/02/2025 15:16

@Idontjetwashthefucker same for me 😂

Perhaps OP should have posted this in the Sex topic so the experts there could have given her advice on what to wear.

No one is going to wear a dress like this to a fairly casual restaurant, they would look absolutely ridiculous!

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 21/02/2025 16:19

Nothing linked to so far is remotely sexy.

Think textures. A soft leather wrap skirt. A silk blouse. Diaphanous, be it a sweater or a dress. Clothes needn't be skin tight either. One can still be sexy if covered up. It's about a hint of flesh. (A promise of what's to be revealed later).

You want to be dressed in clothing that makes him want to reach out and touch you.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/02/2025 16:20

God just buy a nice dress and put it on. You really don’t need to be flashing it all in a restaurant. That red maxi is ridiculous.

A leather midi skirt is a good idea. Keep things demure on the top until you get back to the room.

Gold eyelet shorts 😲

Eh?

bostonchamps · 21/02/2025 16:33

I'm almost exactly the same size/ build as you OP, and I love lovely underwear (DH doesn't give a monkeys but it makes me feel nice).

We went for dinner last night somewhere casual and I wore a super soft vintage denim shirt in a light wash, quite oversized and not quite buttoned up properly so there was a little flash of lace every now and then, chocolate suede barrel leg trousers, and some dark gold kitten sling backs. I did also toy with a pair of battered leather western style boots - would work if you weren't ankle-confident.

FKAT · 21/02/2025 16:35

skippy67 · 21/02/2025 16:25

Eh?

I think this is a reference to S&B being a traditionally hostile environment for 'sexy' dressing advice. Thinking of a poor woman who posted something similar a year or two ago and got ripped apart. Lucy & Yak dungees and a Toast sack are the edge as far as sexy is concerned.

That said, I feel flashing suspenders in a restaurant is the kind of advice that Deirdre in the Sun would have dispensed 25 years ago. As Remus says just wear a slinky dress and leave everything else for the bedroom. No-one wants to fork out restaurant prices in this economy to watch a middle-aged couple's foreplay.

Love the Sesane dress but it will not work on big boobs.

How about something like this ? Would look lovely with your figure and very easy to "flash" in !

Rewritten Florence Waterfall Hem Satin Wrap Dress, Chianti

Justsomethoughts23 · 21/02/2025 16:57

Most of these suggestions would look very wrong in a relaxed restaurant IMO. Silk maxi dresses and heels are surely only for very formal occasions these days? If I had that figure (and criteria!) I’d probably go for a wrap midi skirt (ideally leather or satin with a little side split), cashmere cardigan tucked in at the waist and slightly unbuttoned, and heeled knee boots. Not too Page 3 or try hard. Or as an alternative to cashmere on top, some kind of plain long sleeved top.

It doesn’t read like that at all. Men fantasising like that absolutely don’t talk about maxi dresses and kitten heels.

DancingNotDrowning · 21/02/2025 17:09

It’s very hard to wear stockings if you’re not wearing shoes and if you don’t like heels then you’re very limited.

if you can cope with a kitten heel I’d go for an a-line leather midi skirt and a silk blouse. Of the restaurant was really casual I’d wear a t shirt but a silk blouse with a few buttons undone is both sexier and more flattering
