Am I the only one who loses the ability to buy clothes once the sun has come out ??

I am shite at buying summer clothes. I have a HUGE mental block on it.

Went out today wearing a grey spotty t'shirt and jeans with white ballet pumps and I felt like a right frump.

Winter clothes I can do, summer clothes no, I don't know what to buy, what suits me or what to avoid.

HELP

Actually I could wear those trousers with a shirt couldn't I? You know a white shirt with three quarter length sleeves? [structured, I need structure]

I'm 40 this year. I'm not convinced that t-shirts are a go really. I quite like those t-shirty tops with a collar though, and sleeves. I think they are okay, but the scoop neck thing isn't good for me any more.

Weeeel, right at the end of the year. You are taller than me though, with legs and loveliness. It's me, not an age thing I think.

I saw a nice white skirt in H&M today, but need to sort out milk bottle legs first.

I have a kakhi green skirt that I got last year that I love, but thats about it skirt wise.

My problem is hereditary. My mum has also been clothes shopping today, and also came back empty handed.

This is such a great thread! I went shopping yesterday and happily bought linen trousers and earrings from monsoon.

Would really like help with tops though, can't wear kaftan type tops to work (bit too beachy) and I have tragic back fat issues.

Would love something that skims not clings!

Well today I had on

Dark blue, wide leg jeans
Black patent birkies (sorry cod)
Black shoe string vest top
White 3/4 sleeve, kaftan/shirt thing in cotton
Purple bracelet

In the summer I wear lots of vests and little tops with normal wide leg jeans and sandals or cropped jeans with sandals - wear with high wedges for going out.

Also got a couple of skirts - just below knee - that I wear with plain vests.

Few dresses (mainly Boden and Fat Face as I find them a flattering fit)

Oh that top is rather nice. It's not black and it has structure. I could wear that with my finbar style a line couldn't I?
