... surely the nipple prominence on this website is totally ridiculous? I'm not being prudish, but would anyone feel comfortable going out like that? There are multiple examples on this site.

I'm sorry to rain on your parade/theory but I'm large of breast and have builders thumbs for nips ( @ Y @ ) 😂 👍 👍

Blind cobbler's thumbs or Scammel wheel nuts even.

AsmallabodeIsallweWant · 17/01/2025 22:48

I have small fairly perky breasts. (Though less perky at close to 60 then they were in my 20s!) I’ve never worn a bra because I don’t find them comfortable and they are ridiculously expensive. I have worn a camisole if the top was sheer or a jacket if I’m at work. No one has raised an eyebrow.

After taking anatomy, I really am not worried about nipples poking through a blouse, women naked in changing rooms, people topless on beaches, etc. It just doesn’t bother me. The woman in the photo is gorgeous, prime of youth. That’s wonderful.

dollybird · 17/01/2025 22:54

My boobs aren't massive, but the only time I don't wear a bra or crop top is in the shower.

Men get sore nipples when they run (apparently). Do women who don't wear bras not get the same in a top that's not close fitting?

BeAzureAnt · 17/01/2025 22:55

PrincessofWells · 17/01/2025 22:13

I wear one because when I'm riding it's acutely uncomfortable for my breasts to bounce around. Male riders wear tight underwear to keep their balls from getting squashed . . .

That’s fair enough. Riding and sports bras serve a good purpose.

Sherararara · 17/01/2025 22:55

BobbyBiscuits · 17/01/2025 22:34

Those nipples are clearly enhanced or fully added on. I guess they're trying to show how see through it is, then you would know to wear a bra or top underneath?
But yeah, it looks preposterous. I don't really wear a bra and I don't think my nipples have ever looked like that through a top? I do have small boobs but not nipples that literally looks like beads?! 🤣🤢

“Those Nipples are clearly enhanced
or fully added on.”
You need to get out more of you genuinely think so.

StrangeSenseOfCalm · 17/01/2025 22:56

That particular model seems to have prominent nipples in all of her photos. Can’t see that many of the other models do. (Have looked through the tops section of the website. That’s 5 minutes of my life I won’t get back)

Sherararara · 17/01/2025 22:56

spoonfulofsugar1 · 17/01/2025 21:40

She's not a prude, and no one in public wants to see your nipples poking through

No one? Who are you to speak for everyone?

I don’t run for exercise but walk and I do yoga/somatic body exercises, so not a lot of bouncing. I’ve been fine without a bra.

I was wondering about bra-wearing the other day. Why do we do it? To prevent our breasts from sagging, or hanging low, so they’re still considered sexually attractive to men? To conceal our nipples to reduce the amount of sexual harassment we’re subjected to by men? Are men the reason we wear them? If we never had to see a man again would most women just discard their bras?

I wear a G cup so it's support for me or I'd never wear one, if I forget and run downstairs it feels like my skin will rip.

Lazing around the house is absolutely fine bra free, anything requiring more effort needs support. If I had smaller perky boobs I'd be parading about like this model doing star jumps and enjoying my freedom of movement 😂

itsstillmehere · 17/01/2025 22:58

Can anyone comment on the quality of this range?

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 17/01/2025 23:09

Their clothes are very good quality, @itsstillmehere - really lovely, soft fabrics. Plus their ethical standards are really high. They get a rare ‘Good’ rating on Good On You, which rates brands according to workers’ rights, animal welfare, impact on the environment etc

@Orphlids I've always had breasts that droop, and now I'm bigger and older and have breastfed three children, they are just uncomfortable. Not wearing a bra they flop and flap around - and sorry to say, get sweaty underneath. I've actually started to get really painful what feels like muscle issues above my breasts now, which I'm sure is linked to the weight of them.

Wearing a bra is equally if not more uncomfortable but in a different way.

Having said that, nipples don't bother me in general, but these look iced to be that prominent!

Maternityleavelady · 17/01/2025 23:15

these days I don’t find bras comfy so if I am working at home I will wear a bralette instead but when I am out and about I will always wear one (I have big boobs) but I have noticed that most people in their 20s these days don’t wear bras - I see nipples through clothing regularly now. I am in my 40s and I am pretty sure when I was in my 20s everyone wore bras - so I think times have changed and people are choosing comfort (similar to my generation wearing heels while most young people prefer trainers these days)

Another nipple thread...

GlomOfNit · 17/01/2025 23:24

I breasted for a combination of about 7 years and my nipples have never left! I vaguely remember the days before endless breastfeeding when my nipples were flat and invisible under clothing (when not in use as baby feeders or sexy body parts). They just used to ... flatten.

Now they are ALWAYS pleased to be out and about Grin and I sort of like that, even though it can get a bit sore in very cold weather or if there's a lot of friction. I mostly wear a bra out of the house but will take it off most evenings. But even through a bra with a little bit of padding, you can see my nipples. They just never go down, and I honestly don't mind that.

I always thought it was the US that was paranoid about visible nipples though, I didn't realise we were oddly prudish about them here.

henlake7 · 17/01/2025 23:32

I don't know if it's prudery TBH so much as worrying that I will wind up staring!
I feel like I'd end up ignoring what someone was saying as I'd be caught in a 'dont look, look' situation! 😆

Personally I'm hardly ever without a bra....I just don't like bits of me wobbling about.

TeenLifeMum · 17/01/2025 23:37

Are they fashionable after that Bianca woman (Kanye’s wife)? As a woman with g cups I guess the idea of no bra is bizarre to me but I’m curious where in the world nipples aren’t seen as sexual… love nipple stimulation and when aroused they stick out more. They are sexual apart from feeding a baby. It’s not okay for a man to walk around with an erect penis but woman’s nipples are fine? There’s some off double standards. Would you really be okay with a teacher having prominent nipples when working? It’s not the norm in my world and just seems attention seeking.

Moier · 17/01/2025 23:42

I used to go without a bra in the 70s.. ( I'm old). My boob's were big but perky.. yes sometimes nipples were prominent.. fashion goes around and around and around.
Nothing wrong with it.

MrsMoastyToasty · 17/01/2025 23:50

She looks bloody miserable. Maybe the studio was baltic.

2025willbemytime · 17/01/2025 22:08

I wonder how many woman who are so desperate to get their bra off ASAP are wearing the correct size. Bras should be comfortable. I've been wearing a lot of bralettes and they are a good compromise.

I was but then, post menopause, my ribs started objecting and my contact allergies flared up so I had constant rashes where the straps were. I only wear one for high days and holidays in the winter but more in the summer as my nipples do get sore when I'm hot and they rub and some of my summer clothes can be a bit transparent.

joliefolle · 18/01/2025 00:05

She looks great, don't believe there is any western society where she could walk around like that without sexualised comments, rural scandi or not.

shuggles · 18/01/2025 00:09

@notwavingbutdrowning1 I'm not being prudish

Yes you are.

denhaag · 18/01/2025 00:21

I think if I wore this out and about people would think I'd got dressed in the dark and got my head in the arm hole!

Okay, I've been trying NOT to post about this, but ...
denhaag · 18/01/2025 00:25

I don't need to wear a bra but I would feel self conscious if my nipples were that obvious.
Breast are secondary sexual characteristics, I don't want people to be drawn to looking at my nipples as I go about my day.

I tend to wear a bra to give a smooth line and to look better under clothes.
