... surely the nipple prominence on this website is totally ridiculous? I'm not being prudish, but would anyone feel comfortable going out like that? There are multiple examples on this site.

I wonder how many woman who are so desperate to get their bra off ASAP are wearing the correct size. Bras should be comfortable. I've been wearing a lot of bralettes and they are a good compromise.

doublec · 17/01/2025 22:08

The model has small perky tits that look great without a bra. Pictures like this are quite common on many high fashion clothing websites, runways too. And besides, it's not like she's baring her breasts. Also, it's a racer back vest so a bra would show, and it's not like she's busty anyway.

I mean really, what does anyone on here really care? Why is the hint of a nipple like this so awful?

But then again, I can't help but feel envious. I no longer have any nipples (or breasts for that matter).

🤷🏻‍♀️

I was wondering about bra-wearing the other day. Why do we do it? To prevent our breasts from sagging, or hanging low, so they’re still considered sexually attractive to men? To conceal our nipples to reduce the amount of sexual harassment we’re subjected to by men? Are men the reason we wear them? If we never had to see a man again would most women just discard their bras?

I wear one because when I'm riding it's acutely uncomfortable for my breasts to bounce around. Male riders wear tight underwear to keep their balls from getting squashed . . .

How many women can run for a bus comfortably without one?

I’ve got boobs about the size of the models and I would not enjoy running for the bus without a bra.

That's interesting, because I'm a 34FF/G and my nipples are really small (though I've never had kids so many that's why?) - and I've noticed that large breasts do tend to = small nipples and vice versa - I wonder if this is just the natural distribution of breast tissue?

Anyway, for me bras are more comfortable out and about, but I'm more comfortable braless at home - so it's to do with the movement caused by walking.

I'm sorry to rain on your parade/theory but I'm large of breast and have builders thumbs for nips ( @ Y @ ) 😂 👍 👍

not distracted by something completely normal in the vast majority of women, nope.

I didn’t say it wasn’t normal? Something that is though, or natural, is that humans subconsciously search out visual pattern's and symmetry to way the see in their present environment

ChangingHistory · 17/01/2025 22:19

I have big boobs, I have tried every bra and been fitted by many top stores and I still find them all incredibly uncomfortable. Yet not as uncomfortable as not wearing a bra. Even in bed I find it uncomfortable when I roll over and they go somewhere else. So yes I would most definitely wear a bra in a world without men.

Youtookmyhandle · 17/01/2025 22:20

I never wear a bra as I have sensory issues. I've tried many, but they drive me to distraction.
If my nipples offend you, pluck out your eyes.

Cold day

Dragonsandcats · 17/01/2025 22:22

I always wear thick bras as my nipples look like this all the time. Hate seeing them through my clothes!

Agree with the poster previously who said young slim women with perky young boobs. That’s all fine.

slimpicks · 17/01/2025 22:24

She needs a nice warm vest. Not enough people wearing vests these days. I am never without mine. Got one on right now.

amoreoamicizia · 17/01/2025 22:27

It's definitely a thing that young women are less bothered about nipples showing these days. I see it in Vinted and eBay all the time where as recently as ten years ago it was still fairly taboo.

EXCELLENT graphic, by the way! Puts the 'bra' into 'bravo'! 👏

WarmthAndDepth · 17/01/2025 22:30

@newsenmum, at risk of sounding like a predictable stereotype: Scandinavia. And it's not so much 'nipple showing' as nobody is 'showing' their nipples -they're covered by clothes‐ it's just not covering them with a wad of padding in addition to regular garments. On reflection, I'm prepared to concede that in larger urban metropolitan areas women may have adopted bra-wearing to a greater extent as norms have changed, necessitating that women protect men by shielding them from their female anatomy. Where I'm from, in the sticks, not so much.

VexedofVirginiaWater · 17/01/2025 22:30

OMG at my age and level of droopiness I have to wear a really good bra to stop me from tripping over them. My bras could well be made out of that industrial webbing.

RagzRebooted · 17/01/2025 22:31

I grew up with my Mum never wearing bras, she had small boobs but quite prominent nipples and they were always visible unless she wore a jumper (which to be fair was most of the time, it was Wales).
I have never been able to go braless, my boobs have been big and saggy since they grew in and I got the prominent nipples to go with them. I wear padded bras at work so my nipples don't show through my scrubs, but I'm less bothered about them showing under normal clothes.

I swap from underwired to a stretchy bralette thing when I'm at home, as for some reason my totally comfortable work bras turn evil as soon as I sit on the sofa. But it's actually more comfortable to have some slight support than have to hold my boobs when I walk up and down the stairs. I also don't like the feel of them getting warm and sweaty underneath, a bra lifts them up to air!

BobbyBiscuits · 17/01/2025 22:34

Those nipples are clearly enhanced or fully added on. I guess they're trying to show how see through it is, then you would know to wear a bra or top underneath?
But yeah, it looks preposterous. I don't really wear a bra and I don't think my nipples have ever looked like that through a top? I do have small boobs but not nipples that literally looks like beads?! 🤣🤢

Headabovetheparapets · 17/01/2025 22:36

It is just me or does anyone else think the advert just make it look like the top is made of really cheap thin fabric?

Unpaidviewer · 17/01/2025 22:36

I wasted my small perky tits era! I wanted bigger boobs so I spent ridiculous amounts of money on push up bras that were so uncomfortable.

I think the models look great. I don't mind seeing nipples. But I don't see breasts as a sexual thing.

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 17/01/2025 22:37

That is WEIRD, @Thursa! I see it gets five-star reviews - I’m obviously behind the times.

That's what I was thinking. The fabric looks cheap and flimsy, and at that price. No thanks.
