For me, a gorgeous metallic bronze shadow and liner from Miss Selfridge. I think it was called Iron Lady?

Clinique City Block - the gold one that had a slight sheen to it. LOVED it.

Also a Dior rinse-off cleanser that came in a pale pink bottle. Can't remember the name, but it was lovely.

And Laura Biagiotti Venezia!

Anyone else?

Oh my. This thread has unlocked so many memories!

I hit my teenage years in the early 80s. Everyone started on Constance Carroll makeup. The nail varnish had long thin gold coloured caps.
Orange shower gel from Body Shop
Miss Selfridge make up
The spray shine for hair!! I loved that. Smelled so good.
Natrelle deodorant
In the 90s Boots did an amazing shampoo and conditioner for brunettes - possibly horse chestnut, and possibly Botanics range. It was dark brown and very thick. Smelled fabulous.
Very Valentino perfume - takes me back to 2000 ISH
Ditto Tendre Poison (why did they let that go??)
Clinique Gentle Light foundation - loved it but discontinued around 2010. Bar stewards.

I'll stop there! 😂

I have half a drawer full of Spectacular nail varnish! Mum and I aimed to collect them all but never did.

I need photos of that drawer. I’ll pay. 😂

I’ve never been able to find a mascara as good as L’Oréal define a lash(?) in the green tube. Their lumi magique primer was incredible as well.

There was also a perfume in the 00s I remember my older cousins wearing that smelled like parma violets but I can’t remember the name of it for the life of me! I actually bought Guerlain Insolence thinking it would be similar vibe but the perfume I remember was much sweeter.

I remember this I think it was paco Rabanne Ultra violet

Body shop Bluecornflower facial scrub in a blue tub, I swore by that. It made my skin so smooth and soft, I actually cried when they discontinued it.

Prescriptives Real Camelia foundation

Cacharel Eau d'Eden

Paco Rabane XS Pour Elle

Bobbi Brown Rosy Lip Sheer

Urban Decay Asphyxia eyeshadow

and so many more!

I still have urban decay asphyxia. Tin is rusty but the colour remains the closest thing to an ultra violet ever. When I see the stacks of dull beiges and contouring palettes today on sale I despair of the blandness of makeup nowadays.

Lush Afterlife moisturiser. Was so lovely for my skin. Probably 20 years ago now and I don’t think I’ve liked a moisturiser as much

Body Shop black cherry bubble bath.

Boots natural collection.

Boots also did a fabulous shampoo and conditioner for brunettes which felt so luxurious to teenage me in the late 80s.

HaddyAbrams · 03/01/2025 00:13

Absolutely gutted to realise most of them didn't survive my last cull! Especially mourning "ballet slippers" which was the most beautiful pale satin pink. I can only assume it had gone gloopy! These 2 are all that remains. Sad

Clinique wrappings (pre-reformulation).

I have a couple of bottles of Bodyshop Dewberry oil and they still smell the same after decades of storage.

destiel00 · 03/01/2025 00:31

A perfume from Miss Selfridge I bought in 1993 called Soft Touch
I got so many compliments on it, but no one else has ever heard of it :(

Impulse Jeunesse body spray (1980s)

I had a lovely black long line waistcoat with silver buttons from bay trading in the early 90s. Wore it for years until the back got ripped :(

My beloved saxone black leather chunky sling back platform shoes. SO comfy! I wore them until the disintegrated

Sigh

Vidal Sassoon shampoo and conditioner - the one that smelled like almond essence.

I came on to say this! It was a revelation as it really made my hair smooth and shiny and smelt delicious!

I can still remember being 15 and buying it with my Saturday job money...

I've never found anything to quite compare...

Sweetpea333 · 03/01/2025 01:10

Sunsilk Eau de Parfum shampoo and the glorious Silkience conditioner - the smell! Although I think they were more 80s.

Clique 100% red lipstick. Literally the best red lipstick I've ever had and I've worn lipstick for nearly 45 years. Gutted when it was discontinued and never, yet, found anything half as good.

CoverMySoul · 03/01/2025 01:40

Body shop aduki bean face scrub was wonderful!

Revlon Flex shampoo. That really delivered the full monty - shine, bounce, volume, gorgeous smell. I miss it.

Gliss Corimist shine spray.

And yes, Venezia. Gorgeous.

Revlon Flex is back!! I have it right now in my bathroom. Home Bargains £2.99 for massive bottle and the conditioner to match 😊

Zoflorabore · 03/01/2025 01:48

I used to love the smell of Cover Girl foundation in the glass bottle when I was a teen in the early to mid 90’s.

also the shop Benetton. I know they have it in Spain but we had a brilliant one in Liverpool and I loved it.

lastly, Body Shop kiwi lip balm and strawberry lip balm in the little round pot, takes me back to such carefree times!

Going back quite a bit;
Anna French cleanser milk, can visualise the bottle now.
Beer shampoo (can anyone remember the actual name?) the smell was amazing
Tweed fragrance
Miners make up, especially the eye shadow sticks in green and blue

Anne French was still available not that long ago. Well, I s say that - it was probably 5 or 10 years ago! But I saw some in a chemist and was immediately transported back to the 80s! Bought it, used it up chucked the bottle and not seen it since🥹.

I also vividly remember the TV advert - 'she must have a secret...'

Was the beer shampoo Linco Beer Shampoo? I remember buying a sachet of that for my dad as a christmas present when I was about 9 or 10!

Lentheric's Tweed perfume has been bought by Taylor of London and you can still get it. I have an eau de toilette that always gives me a trip down memory lane. I also have Tabu and some other 70s and 80s drug store brands.

Body shop Bluecornflower facial scrub in a blue tub, I swore by that. It made my skin so smooth and soft, I actually cried when they discontinued it.

Glad that you and a few other posters mentioned this. Loved it for my oily skin.

Body shop wise also loved their Ananya, Patchouli and Japanese Musk perfumes, pineapple face wash, coconut soap, lemon balm soap, cucumber cleansing milk and a shampoo and conditioner they did in the 2000s which gave Aveda Shampure a run for its money (very similar and half the price).

SavingTheBestTillLast · 03/01/2025 02:27

I miss Tooty Frooties and
Those huge jars of Greengages you used to get in Safeways and Sainsburies

I also miss being able to buy a 35mm film for the camera from an actual shop that I can walk into 😒

By products I assume you mean any sort of product 🤔

Actual 00’s make up

I had that one! Sadly, I didn't keep it 😔 i remember going to boots and perusing the urban decay make up and hard candy nail polish that had a plastic flower ring around the lid. Once I got a job and was able to buy them I felt so high end lol

I wish they would bring impulse back, loved the o2 fragrance. I bet if I smelled it again the memories of being a young tween/teen would come flooding back.

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 03/01/2025 02:36

There was a lovely Bourjois nail varnish in a sort of warm chocolatey brown with a slight sparkle to it that was absolutely perfect for my skin. Cannot find anything even remotely similar at the moment.

MrsFrumble · 03/01/2025 02:43

The Body Shop could have saved itself easily by reverting to all of their old products (and prices). It would have been so popular with nostalgic 40 and 50-somethings, and our daughters. It was my absolute favourite shop when I was a young ‘in, and I’m sure my 12 year old DD would have loved it. The bath beads! The lip balm! The little fruity soaps shaped like animals! The scent bar with the glass bottles, where you try them on and add them to unscented bubble bath! It was a tween dream. Sigh.
