For me, a gorgeous metallic bronze shadow and liner from Miss Selfridge. I think it was called Iron Lady?

Clinique City Block - the gold one that had a slight sheen to it. LOVED it.

Also a Dior rinse-off cleanser that came in a pale pink bottle. Can't remember the name, but it was lovely.

And Laura Biagiotti Venezia!

Anyone else?

Satin finish eyeshadows, which are as rare as hen's teeth now. I know Mac still have a finish they call satin, but most of them are either matte or glimmery. Whereas satin eyeshadow had just a pearly glow, very subtle and flattering. Particularly miss this finish on cream/stick eyeshadows.

They still have cacharel eden in most places !

Sadly it isn't Eden I like, it is Eau d'Eden - introduced in the 90s as a flanker, but a completely different fragrance.

I will definitely try the Floris perfume recommended by a previous poster as similar🤞

I also really miss the original scents of the Aussie 5 minute miracle shampoo and conditioners - they changed the scents a while back and they're just not the same now.

Oh maybe I'll give them a try!

I thought they were good products but I hated the smell.

Michael kors glam jasmine perfume - although I've now got the Valentino Donna one which is similar

You can still find this, I got some for Christmas!

Pianoaholic · 02/01/2025 16:22

Like previous posters I loved ananya and tobacco flower perfumes from body shop.
From.lush I loved flower market soap/bubble bath bar and they also did a gritty mud soap which I craved to eat when I was pregnant! (Didn't though)
Also, a cream called noczema which had a lovely smell and texture.

Comedycook · 02/01/2025 16:24

Bourjois city radiance foundation. Was absolutely amazing....best foundation I've ever used.

Drivingoverlemons · 02/01/2025 16:26

I wonder if this perfume is the original Paris by ysl, I used to love that I seem to remember it being like palma violets! Probably make me feel sick now!

I’m determined to find this so I did some Googling. I was sure it had champagne in the name and I’m now pretty sure it was YSL Champagne! It’s discontinued but there’s a newer version called La Collection Yvresse that I might need to check out.

Lovethatforyouhun · 02/01/2025 18:28

Ananya and everything Body Shop. Dewberry, Banana conditioner, Carrot Sun Cream.

Boots Sunflower shower gel.

Miss Selfridge makeup.

MAC perfume. The one with the gold top smelt like expensive dark chocolate and smoke. Divine!

Byzance in the blue circular bottle.

Samsara Guerlain in the OG red bottle.

The original Britney Spears perfume “Fantasy” with real crystals round the top of the bottle.
Not the cheap current reformulated one, it’s not the same.

Make them stop reformulating perfumes!!!

Superdrug own brand wash in colour shampoo , think it cost 99p but made my hair the best colour, like my hair but better.
Just thought of something else, Body Shop carrot cream, it had such a lovely smell and texture , my mum used to use it .

Edited

They still sell it me and my sister buy it

Lovethatforyouhun · 02/01/2025 18:33

Forgot to add Impulse body spray.
Free Spirit was the nicest, but I’d buy Nirvana as I was in love with Kurt 😂

Randomontheinternet25 · 02/01/2025 18:34

@SuffolkUnicorn thank you, a few others pointed it out too.no never go in superdrug , Im excited (which is silly) because I used to love them.

CoverMySoul · 02/01/2025 18:37

Oh yes, YSL Babydoll. Not at all my usual fragrance style, but a nice daytime scent when I was a young 'un.

Was anyone a member of Les Club de Createurs de Beaute? Mail order catalogue of French beauty products, they did Agnes b makeup which I loved and used to feel tres sophisticated with all the sleek packaging. They were quite generous with the free gifts as well. They stopped supplying the UK in about 2003, I still miss it…

I loved it

jay55 · 02/01/2025 19:45

Swiss formula Jojoba shampoo
Gap dream perfume

buybuysellsell · 02/01/2025 19:48

The original Charles Worthington shampoo and conditioner, the orange one. I can still remember the amazing fragrance of it.

Plum perfume by Mary Greenwell.

Crispynoodle · 02/01/2025 19:48

Noir aftershave for men not drakkar Noir just noir

WonderingWanda · 02/01/2025 19:50

Do Bacardi Breezers count?

Crispynoodle · 02/01/2025 19:51

Also benefit tin of crème bronzer, body shop's mostly musk oil too

Snowmanscarf · 02/01/2025 19:54

In ‘80s, Avon used to do a highlighter kit - it was like a mascara brush you dipped in the bottle/tube, and then brushed over your hair. It came in silver or gold. The box was a burgundy colour with silver stars if I recall.

Snowmanscarf · 02/01/2025 19:55

Pears shampoo

I’ve never been able to find a mascara as good as L’Oréal define a lash(?) in the green tube. Their lumi magique primer was incredible as well.

There was also a perfume in the 00s I remember my older cousins wearing that smelled like parma violets but I can’t remember the name of it for the life of me! I actually bought Guerlain Insolence thinking it would be similar vibe but the perfume I remember was much sweeter.

Ghost di a perfume I had in the 00's that smelt like Parma violets.
It's just called "Ghost- the fragrance"
