For me, a gorgeous metallic bronze shadow and liner from Miss Selfridge. I think it was called Iron Lady?

Clinique City Block - the gold one that had a slight sheen to it. LOVED it.

Also a Dior rinse-off cleanser that came in a pale pink bottle. Can't remember the name, but it was lovely.

And Laura Biagiotti Venezia!

Anyone else?

Body Shop honey lip balm stick. I stockpiled about twenty when I realised they were discontinuing it.

I use the Burts Bees honey lip balm now but it is a pale imitation of the Body Shop one.

Going back quite a bit;
Anna French cleanser milk, can visualise the bottle now.
Beer shampoo (can anyone remember the actual name?) the smell was amazing
Tweed fragrance
Miners make up, especially the eye shadow sticks in green and blue

Boots sunflower shampoo and body wash
all of the Boots elements range but Earth was the absolute best
Miss Selfridge nail varnish, I swear they had new shades everywhere week, favourites were a beautiful metallic cornflower blue called petrol (finally found that Orly now do a similar shade) and a glitter mix of pink, gold and orange that looked like a firework.
Spectaular nail varnish - 99p - favourite colours were Brighton Rock (glossy rock pink), Dancing Queen (royal purple shimmer) and Silver Cloud (mirror-like silver).

I miss 90’s shopping. The sales shopping this year has been so disappointing.

I have half a drawer full of Spectacular nail varnish! Mum and I aimed to collect them all but never did.

@RunAwayTurnAwayRunAwayTurnAway Really? Thank you! I'll have to pop in, not sure I've been in a superdrug in the past ten years the one I bought was about the size of travel products small plastic bottle

Edited

They still do something similar - Colour Effects wash in and out - now £2.99 but I love it… and it’s usually 3-for-2 www.superdrug.com/hair/hair-colourants/wash-in-wash-out/c/pt_hair_wash_in_wash_out

Body Shop in the 90s as a child was a treat especially spending birthday/Christmas money/ vouchers. Loved the little animal soaps and the miniature bottles of shower gel in satsuma, cola and I remember an ice cream one.

Boots Natural Collection toiletries available in so many fragrances. I remember a milk cow camflogaue design and vanilla.

Glitter hair spray/ gel from superdrug. Smelt lovely.

Randomontheinternet25 · 02/01/2025 20:33

@MJOverInvestor thank you several people have suggested that, I'm going to look next time I find myself near a superdrug

Was anyone a member of Les Club de Createurs de Beaute? Mail order catalogue of French beauty products, they did Agnes b makeup which I loved and used to feel tres sophisticated with all the sleek packaging. They were quite generous with the free gifts as well. They stopped supplying the UK in about 2003, I still miss it…

I remember Agnes B! Oh god I loved it!!
Also the Yves Rocher catalogues!
I thought I was such a sophisticated teenager ordering from that! 😂

Impulse 02 was the scent of my early teens. I also got a Neutralia clear shampoo once that smelled amazing and I've never smelled anything like it since. Anyone remember Sportactif lip balm (from Avon, I think)? And Avon also had a deodorant in a pink container. There was a white sensitive, a green 'fresh' and the pink one, I think it was called 'soft'. Anyway that smelled gorgeous too. Funny how smell creates and recalls memory.

You can still buy O2, I have two on my dresser and the smell takes me right back! I got mine from Savers but Superdrug and Sainsbury's have it too https://www.superdrug.com/body-sprays/impulse-throwback-collection-o2-body-spray/p/830341?gclsrc=aw.ds&gadsource=1&gbraid=0AAAAADp4mzzxkDXI9DPwcFrhLKGdPmCPr&gclid=Cj0KCQiAj9m7BhD1ARIsANsIIvD4sPrsudmF7f09C0Hyv17N-UEN5AvLs9mmgRgALP1U8mZTiKgShYaAtgkEALwwwcB

Aroung 1986/7 there was a perfumed shampoo doing the rounds possibly in a purple bottle? It was the subject of a thread on here a few years ago and not sure if we.ever found out the name. It was fab anyway and I used it the time I appeared on a game show. Remember it well as it wàs the time of the big storm that Michael Fish said wasn't going to happen!

Houseplanter · 02/01/2025 22:09
