Is there something that just lifts the appearance of your skin a little

I usually wear makeup at home and work (Trinny London or Laura Geller Baked) but recently I've been using a rose oil and I've not really felt like I wanted to apply makeup, as my skin looks pretty nice without, miraculously. A bit of eyeliner or tinted lip sometimes. And also I worry that my makeup looks a bit overdone or badly done sometimes because I throw it on and have bad eyesight! However, when I am back at work, by the end of a work day I will no doubt look pale, puffy and blotchy, not helped by currently growing out my grey hair. Although I don't much care about it, I need to look neat and professional for work and too haggard Is unhelpful. Is there something that I could just apply mid afternoon for a bit of glow and moisturisation? I guess I could use the Trinny bff primer but it doesn't do much for me. The oil doesn't look good instantly, unfortunately, but does when used daily. Would love some ideas to try.

I use the Trinny de-stress and find that lifts my skin without it looking like foundation.

piscofrisco · 01/01/2025 13:56

ilia skin tint serum. It's magical. And has SPF. I love it!

MissAtomicBomb1 · 01/01/2025 14:12

I love the revolution skin perfecting tintI think I'm currently on my 4th tube.

It gives a really nice glow and blurs imperfections without having to apply much at all

What is the Rose oil that you're using OP?

LadeOde · 01/01/2025 14:20

Aveeno!

Thanks, will try that.

Shamelessly following as I don't really think make up suits my face anymore but have to slap something on as my skin is dreadful. I recently started using a vitamin c serum from Tesco along with the moisturiser which is lovely but I ly got nighttime as it pills 😞

Thank you so much for all the recommendations, I am busy bookmarking them. I use this www.trilogyproducts.co.uk/products/certified-organic-rosehip-oil

Is there a knack to using a skin tint? Wondering if it is hard to get even coverage or not? Looks very good

How do you apply skin tint? Brush, sponge, fingers?

GinandGingerBeer · 01/01/2025 15:51

I apply the Lisa Eldridge with fingers. It's too sheer/runny to use a brush and you'd waste it.

Jolietta · 01/01/2025 15:54

Buy a liquid highlighter and add a couple of drops to your foundation.

Instant lift and glow without it looking obvious.

Ruthietuthie · 01/01/2025 16:01

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Tinted Face Sunscreen. It's not too expensive, has SPF 50, and makes the skin look really even and glossy. If I want to make it a little less glowy, I lightly dust with NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder. Makes me look "polished" without covering up the skin or looking like make-up.

ohyesido · 01/01/2025 16:02

Olay luminescence serum is amazing, I felt pretty for the first time in a while using that

greengreyblue · 01/01/2025 16:04

I use retinol serum at night . Currently L’Oréal laser. I’m 53 and this has made my skin glow in the morning. Also use a touch of liquid highlighter in my No7 illuminating foundation. DH bought me Charlotte Tilbury magic cream for Christmas and that leaves a nice dewy finish. Trinny BFF eye is a great concealer and serum in one

Doggymummar · 01/01/2025 16:07

Elf, Halo Glow

Ruthietuthie · 01/01/2025 16:13

For the skin-tints, I just put them on with my fingers, blending. I am not sure if this is the best way, but I found - as they are so runny - that a sponge just soaks up too much product.
I also like the finish of the Ilia Skin-tint serum recommended above, but unfortunately it makes me break out. LOTS of products make me break-out, particularly anything with a sun-screen in it, but the one product that doesn't is the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral tinted one. I also like the Alastin HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum sunscreen, but find the tint in it a little too dark/warm toned for the winter, when I am naturally really pale.

I find Tan Luxe facial tan drops make my skin look better, just more even and warmed up

amoreoamicizia · 01/01/2025 16:40

Erborian BB cream, but n.b. I hardly wear makeup and don't have experience of many products so take my advice with pinch of salt. Also, going for a swim always gives me glowy skin.

Itsaswelltime · 01/01/2025 16:44

The Erborian products are all great. Instead of foundation, I use the one in the lilac tube, I think it’s called blurring cream.

Otherwise I regularly use Nuxe crème fraîche (white tube, blue writing) and sometimes the Nuxe cream in the sugar pink tube, it’s called Perfection something (sorry, am away from home so can’t see the product).

Cheesymonster · 01/01/2025 16:46

I just bought Erborian CC cream in the silver tube and love it. It smells nice too!

Maddy70 · 01/01/2025 16:52

Rosehip oil on my face has made a huge difference

newyearnewsmee · 01/01/2025 16:55

A couple of drops of fake tan in my moisturiser every couple of days, works wonders.

Now I think of it, I'm not sure if mine is CC or BB 🤔 Anyway, good products in general, very subtle which can be a pro or a con depending on what you want/your skin.
