Is there something that just lifts the appearance of your skin a little

I usually wear makeup at home and work (Trinny London or Laura Geller Baked) but recently I've been using a rose oil and I've not really felt like I wanted to apply makeup, as my skin looks pretty nice without, miraculously. A bit of eyeliner or tinted lip sometimes. And also I worry that my makeup looks a bit overdone or badly done sometimes because I throw it on and have bad eyesight! However, when I am back at work, by the end of a work day I will no doubt look pale, puffy and blotchy, not helped by currently growing out my grey hair. Although I don't much care about it, I need to look neat and professional for work and too haggard Is unhelpful. Is there something that I could just apply mid afternoon for a bit of glow and moisturisation? I guess I could use the Trinny bff primer but it doesn't do much for me. The oil doesn't look good instantly, unfortunately, but does when used daily. Would love some ideas to try.

Never heard of the brand erborian. Where is that sold?

I got mine from Boots online

greengreyblue · 02/01/2025 15:05

Thanks. Just not heard of it. I don’t use social media so I guess that’s why. I’ve just looked online and see it’s everywhere including Amazon!

Following this. I have very dry skin and things settle in my folds , any recommendations on here made by people with very dry skin ?
I have no glow in winter at all and don’t like the look or feel of traditional foundations, plus am generally very low maintenance, just really feeling and looking my age after fifteen years of poor mental and physical health and strong medication

I am similar and wrinkly as well as dry. Erborian skin hero and then the bb cream work well for me although they are light coverage.

Boots, space nk, Sephora. It’s Korean I think. Oh and selfridges if you are near one.

I wear Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter instead of foundation & it makes my skin look lovely & dewy

noobiedoobie · 02/01/2025 15:28

What is eborian CC cream made of?

pinkhimalayan · 02/01/2025 16:21

A good cleanser with glycerin, moisturiser/serum with hyaluronic acid, and Tretinoin which Monderma and Obagi sell as prescription in the UK. Tazarotene is a gamechanger as well but yet available in the UK to my knowledge. Adapalene is good for wrinkles too if you get hormonal acne. One of these in a night cream and botox and you'll look 5-10 years more yourself.

Stila One Step Correct is an absolute miracle worker. Smooths everything out and looks like you aren't wearing any base at all. stila.co.uk/products/one-step-kitten

This looks really interesting! Is it suitable for very fair skin?

Also I break out for stuff so easily it's always nerve wracking buying anything new but it does look great

ItsBulkingSeason · 02/01/2025 17:48

I have been wearing garnier BB cream which makes my skin nice and glowy, I prefer it to my foundation and I lterally just rub it in with my fingers.

Snowmanscarf · 02/01/2025 18:00

More bold lipstick.

blueshoes · 02/01/2025 18:08

Once you have sorted your skin out (personally, I just put a little moisturiser and apply a light coat of the same liquid foundation I use in the morning, if I want a skin boost), use some cream blusher to give a glow to your cheeks.

This is great:

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Tinted Face Sunscreen. It's not too expensive, has SPF 50, and makes the skin look really even and glossy. If I want to make it a little less glowy, I lightly dust with NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder. Makes me look "polished" without covering up the skin or looking like make-up.

Hi could you post the link to this one please? There are so many LRP ones I always get mixed up. I’m looking for a mineral SPF to replace Ren Clean Screen, which I believe has been discontinued, sadly. It was great.

RenaissanceBaby · 02/01/2025 19:02

Ahhh thank you!. Yes I think this is the issue, I swear I’ve tried to get this one before but it’s made for the US market. I’ll do some digging….

I agree with this recommendation! Game changer! I rarely stick to the same products but I'm also on tube 4 of this!

However I'm also still mourning the discontinuation of Botanics Radiance Balm. It was hands down the most incredible 'budget' skin product in the world. Apparently it had an ingredient that didn't fit their diversity policy as it wasn't good for anything other than white skin. I admire the ethics but devastated on a selfish level!

musicmum75 · 02/01/2025 21:53

@arrigatto yes my skin is quite fair and it works fine for me. It doesn't have much "skin colour" if that makes sense. It uses the lilac and green shades to even out your skin tone and balance it all out and the "kitten" shade adds some glow.

parkingproblemos · 02/01/2025 22:15

L'Oréal red correct is pretty awesome product

It smooths! It glowifies! It blends!

And it's just one colour that adjusts and it's less than a £7

rumanah · 02/01/2025 23:49

La Roche-Posay anthelios tinted sunscreen if you had to pick one product for an easy win.

I used to love that!
I do like the elemis glow priming moisturiser but it's definitely not budget

mrpinkwhistlescat · 03/01/2025 14:29

Another vote for a couple of fake tan drops in moisturiser every few days. I like the Clarins ones.

Hedjwitch · 04/01/2025 16:21

Just received my Erborian CC cream. Does it go under foundation or is it instead of? Under or over moisturiser?

Yellanip · 04/01/2025 16:37

I mix luxe gold dry oil with my regular moisturiser fur when I want a boost but no make up
