Pleased to see a lot more in the homeware, although mostly Christmas decorations. I did order the Willow salad bowl, and three more pairs of socks (would have been four but one pair disappeared before I could pay).

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2025 16:38

@Nanasueathome think it was you with the sun and moon dress. How did you find the fit? The trousers are in the sale too!

@Owly11 I got the Brown Slate aka Black cord dungarees in the sale , I’m currently wearing them with Uniglo ribbed merino polo necks , the back cream stripey one especially . They’re warm and thinnish.
I love that greenish colour , a bit like the cord Annie trousers from this season which I’ve worn with rust, green , very dark brown etc.

Me too with the Uniqlo polo neck! They are slim fitting and very neat. I have red, brown, navy, cream, grey/navy striped and navy/white stripes and perfect under dungarees.

Haven’t tried it on yet
will do later

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/01/2025 16:48

I have succumbed to a pair of Sally Lacock earrings as well Blush

OrangeyLemon · 02/01/2025 16:49

I've panic bought some socks- it's everyone talking about things disappearing! They are the same as some socks I already have but they are so lovely, and now I will have them for twice as long!
I was hoping for the addition of a jumper from last winter's sale, but perhaps it will appear if they ever have an archive sale again? I'm liking some of the new new additions so thinking I should keep my money for those, rather than lose my head over tempting reductions. Those pear dungarees almost seem like a really long pinafore dress. I've never worn dungarees but I could be here for those.

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2025 16:52

@Theteapotsbrokenspout im surprised they have discounted Sally Lacock, they don’t normally. I want the bracelet but Im trying to be restrained after just spending £255!

Nanasueathome · 02/01/2025 17:00

Aarrrggggg
just seen the sun and moon dress is now reduced by £50
ive contacted Toast via online chat and they’ve refunded the £50 to my gift card
ive ordered the trousers now as well
ive got a lot of Toast gift cards this Christmas

IlovePond · 02/01/2025 17:01

Thanks @countmeout!

I have bought another bauble - this time in blue. Last Xmas sale I bought a lot of brown/cream/orange baubles, but I love the blue ones. I think I was trying to be colour coordinated last year, (but if you have seen the picture of my tree, you will know that was a vain hope!)

I have also bought the wood blocks, even though I have no use for them at all. I promised myself I would get them if they were reduced, so I can fantasise about creating my own cards/decorations next year 😹

I also bought the Lia tee in a sort of red/brown colour. I like my navy one if these, but I suspect the sizing has changed. I thought I would take a chance as I was bauble buying anyway.

Can anyone remember if the cotton linen twill shirt/jacket in the same beautiful fabric as my minako trousers was in the sale and how much it was? Also sizing tips would be really helpful- thank you!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/01/2025 17:10

@Snowyowl78 I'm really pleased, I'm always looking at the earrings on her website and looking out for a discount.
I was thinking of getting another ear piercing as well, I like the look of 2 earrings in each ear, but at my age I'm not really sure where to go to get it done.

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2025 17:17

Pretty sure I saw it in the sale @faustina, but I didn’t take note of the price.
Nothing for me in the newly added items, and none of the blue Minako trousers back in stock in my size either.
I really like the off-white shirt pictured with the new green cords. Likely to be a terrible colour on me though.

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2025 17:22

Ah you also asked about sizing @faustina. I tried it when it came out first and seem to remember it was big - I think the same size & shape as the asawa check shirt in SS if you tried/saw that. I feel like a size down fitted for me, but I couldn’t swear to it as it was ages ago.

faustina · 02/01/2025 17:22

@ScottishMouse - thanks. I sent the S back on Saturday ( they were a generous small). I will keep an eye out for the shirt returns. I didn't buy anything new - just a linen boy t which was not part of my 'only make considered purchases ' policy!

faustina · 02/01/2025 17:23

Sizing info very helpful - thank you!

mizu · 02/01/2025 17:24

@IlovePond seems 5 minutes since you were last buying baubles!

IlovePond · 02/01/2025 17:31

@mizu -I know 🙀 I was just saying to DH today that it didn’t seem like two minutes since last Xmas, (and every year seems to fly by quicker). Of course he disagreed with me, because he has to argue about everything, but it’s how I feel!

I read an article once about the science/psychology behind why we perceive time differently at various life stages. I wish I could find it again - it was really interesting.

I wasn’t going to buy another thing until the next sale but have cracked and gone for golden silk shirt. Have had my eye on it for ages. Could have also bought more Japanese socks and a Colombian pot, but need to get a grip now. 😹

Netcam · 02/01/2025 17:40

Well, lots of sale clothes arrived today and they are all going back.

The only thing I'm keeping is a Celtic and Co bag that I got with the £25 discount code and will be a combined Xmas and birthday present with money from my MIL. It's my 55th soon.

DH asked if I was disappointed since I am now on a no buy year, but I was kind of relieved as I had massively over ordered imagining that I wouldn't keep everything.

And I'd kept some of the other things that were delivered earlier (which I'm also wearing in the picture). I'm very pleased with those Brora cord cargo trousers.

I see the crackers have appeared in the sale now. I have resisted, as I still have five from the pack I bought, having rationed myself to pulling just one this year. I also think last year’s contents were a bit better.

I opened two of the furoshiki boxes this Xmas, choosing two with brown cloths as I have tied them together to make a short bandana.

Re: Contents

Cracker contained a small paper decoration- presumably handmade. The same sort of thing was in one of the furoshiki boxes. Neither was particularly exciting, but cute.

The other box contained a metal bell Xmas decoration, which would have been lovely except it had been completely flattened on one side. Bit disappointing, but fortunately a gift for me, so ok. I might try to unsquash the bell tomorrow when taking down the tree if I can be bothered to look for the pliars!

I want locking up for my own good. Ordered cosmic dress, sun and moon dress, black/white and olive Freya dresses, pair of socks, garland, and blue space dyed tank.

I’ve already got the shirt in cosmic fabric and I love it. The neck on dress will probably be too high, so will see if it can be altered

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2025 17:55

@Theteapotsbrokenspout go for it! I’ve had mine done again recently too. I went to a local beauty place who have a qualified piercer. I prefer to go to a proper ‘piercer’ rather than a shop etc but I think places like Astrid and Mayu also do it and look professional.

faustina · 02/01/2025 18:01

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - like snowy owl I'd also recommend Astrid and Miyu- I have had a couple of piercings there and they were lovely. Salli Hughes suggested you go to your local scary looking tattoo and piercing place on the grounds that they know what they're doing. I tried that too, but wasn't impressed- ditto Maria tash at liberty.

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2025 18:04

Having said there was nothing for me in the newly added things….Has anyone tried the cosmic dot dress? What’s sizing like? I love it, but cannot tell how it would look on a menopausal stomach and boobs. I feel like the word column in the name is putting me off trying it.
