I have set up a new Toastie thread, guys.

@IlovePond I was surprised by the re-stock too but very glad as I managed to get the space tank which I've had regrets about. I'm not looking again as I have sent back a lot more than I have kept this time.

Stravaig · 21/01/2025 07:23

My thoughts are that I won't wear it, someone else will and its taking up space.

@Poplinskirt This is exactly what I need to remind myself. Thank you 🤗

Someone else could have been enjoying these things, for years now, and if I do want or need them in the future, then they or similar will find their back to me.

Very much how I've lived my life, but I've been a bit adrift in recent years, so harder to keep true, and not absorb more mainstream attitudes of mine, more, consume, hoard.

whinsome · 21/01/2025 07:30

@PeonyBlush10 I now (hopefully) have a merino wool wrap winging its way to me. ;-) It looks perfect to keep me warm while wfh. I had looked at it earlier and couldn't justify the price and hadn't noticed it in the sale. So, thanks! (This was supposed to be a no buy 6 months - but 🤷🏻‍♀️ - and its not really clothing is it, more homeware??)

I haven't had a bad sale after sending quite a few bits back at the start. I have the grey merino buttoned tank which I have worn most days since (so soft and warm) and a men's yellow smock top (in small though I am a good 16/18) which I look forward to wearing once it starts warming up.

I have, for once, managed to buy for the country life that I lead (prioritising warmth and practicality) rather than the city one of a few years ago.

Hope everyone finds what they've missed so far in the final restock, or can successfully sit on their hands - whichever you need to hear!

Snowyowl78 · 21/01/2025 07:35

Finally got the sketch linen bag at the last minute. Still no Jessa dungarees in my size so giving up on them!

AmethystMoonShine · 21/01/2025 07:59

Me too @Zeusrules, I missed my size in the space tank when the final reductions were applied. I’ve sized up as reviews are saying it comes up short and small and I want a looser fit to layer underneath.

Zeusrules · 21/01/2025 08:01

@AmethystMoonShine it sounds like ordered the correct size then as I am in between but went larger rather than smaller, always tricky with Toast sizing.

mizu · 21/01/2025 08:33

Ordered the sale scarf I wanted on Saturday morning and it still hasn't been dispatched and is no longer on the TOAST site so wondering if it's sold out!

OrangeyLemon · 21/01/2025 09:13

Thank you for the restock notification @IlovePond The Billi flower dress has come back in stock in the larger size so I'm going to try it along side the one that only just fits, assuming it arrives in time. I hope you get your scarf @mizu !

OrangeyLemon · 21/01/2025 09:38

Every time I see the green Geometric Jacquard Neat Sweater in the sale I sigh- if only it was available in a bigger size but always just the XS! I have the fawn and love it.

Speaking of most worn items, I would have to say my faithful Ashley jeans. I love my Annie cropped jeans, but the full length seemed to big in the leg on me somehow. I've also worn my Kaia verbena cardigan to death as it's lovely and warm and seems to go with everything. A relatively new favourite is the panelled organic indigo dress. It's very long, which I love. It's comfortable and hard-wearing. I've worn it sleeveless in warm weather and layered up in the winter.

TosstTastic · 21/01/2025 10:10

I have the green one @OrangeyLemon and am always looking out for the cream. Its still on my wishlist but only appears in xs, and those days are unachievable.

I now look out for 'neat' in the blurb. Some of the tanks tend to have the same feel.

IlovePond · 21/01/2025 11:08

At about 2.30am the blue Donegal came back in a larger size, so I bought it 🙀

Having been so good, I am now sitting on expensive stuff that needs to go back but I am waiting for other sizes in the nightie and jumper to arrive before deciding what, if anything, to keep.

@IlovePond 👍🏼
@OrangeyLemon scarf en route

faustina · 21/01/2025 12:25

Glad to see some people managed to find things this morning.

Unfortunately, the pieces I was hoping to try in other sizes didn't appear so after putting quite a few 'desperation' items in my basket I gave up. There was quite a lot left once they'd done their restock. What happens to it all now? Does it go to the outlet stores, or do they just put it away for the next sale?

It's been quite annoying this sale because there have been long delays in sending stuff. You get the despatch note soon-ish, but it can be a good few days before it arrives at Royal Mail. Nothing to do with all the bank holidays either - it's been outside those times

IlovePond · 21/01/2025 12:59

Glad you got the scarf @mizu !

I agree @faustina - Toast have been very slow with deliveries and refunds and restocks have been sporadic. (All the more weird as there was - relatively speaking - so little sale stock compared with previous years.)

They will send some of the sale stuff to KC - but tend to sell it at the first reduced price, (so it pays to be careful when browsing the rails to avoid overpaying for something that may have been cheaper in the ‘real’ sale!)

I think the bulk of it just sits in their warehouse, along with tens of thousands of other items that they are not putting into sales for reasons best known to themselves🤷‍♀️

Good tips @TosstTastic and good luck in your search for the cream!

ScottishMouse · 21/01/2025 19:46

Well thank goodness the sale is finally over. I had a busy morning at work so didn’t even get to take a last look, but I am not sad about it.
Today I wore my new indigo side-tie vest, over a navy turtleneck sweater and some very old gingham culottes. It’s quite cosy, I didn’t wear a coat over it and I was warm enough outside with a hat and scarf with it.
I am worried about the indigo dye transferring though. I have only dared to put it over a navy sweater the two times I have worn it. Is there any trick to this apart from washing it many times?

ScottishMouse · 21/01/2025 19:48

I have actually just realised it says dry clean only. What the hell? I’m guessing it is because there is padding, but this seems madness. It will survive a machine, right?

PrincessofWells · 21/01/2025 20:42

@ScottishMouse I think I'd hand-wash, but rarely. I really like that, it's like a gilet but with style.

ScottishMouse · 21/01/2025 21:05

I can’t imagine I will need to wash/clean it much @PrincessofWells , but I would like to get rid of the excess dye so I can wear it over lighter colours tops.
It is very lovely.

Countmeout · 22/01/2025 07:09

@ScottishMouse have you considered trying wearing it over an old t-shirt before you do anything rash with it? It may not leak dye at all.

ScottishMouse · 22/01/2025 08:32

Great minds @Countmeout I am working at home today and currently have it on over an old long sleeve white tee to see what happens. There is some dye on the label so that makes me think there is at least some dye that will leak.

Good morning toasties

Just reporting that my final sale order arrived , the kanthe pinafore I like but don't love it on me so it's probably going back, but I'll have a play with styling when I'm properly up . Love the Birkenstock felt clogs , the other clogs are a bit narrow otherwise I'd keep as well.

There was discussion up thread about choice of coats with Toast dresses . I find vintage coats work very well on me as I'm 5 ft 2 they are just the right length. I've got 2 that both came from charity shops now is a good time to hunt !

TosstTastic · 22/01/2025 09:58

I'm 5'7" @triggers34 , so the pinafore is a calf length hug rather than sweeping the floor. Tricky to shorten with the close lining.

I note that the models Toast use are 5'8" and 5'8.5" and Nova here is 5'9" !

TosstTastic · 22/01/2025 10:00

And that's why I do love the Toast Lives and the effort they go to sometimes to link the product page with a clip.
The staff and in house models are great for seeing how it works heightwise, widthwise, etc. really appreciate them putting themselves out there. They always look more cheerful than the struct model shots.
