I have set up a new Toastie thread, guys.

I too am getting fed up looking at the dregs of the sale.

Me & Em have some lovely clothes in their sale. A different vibe from Toast but rather good quality if pricey.

Looking forward to new lines appearing on Toast. My husband is visiting UK at the end of if February and he will bring home any Toast purchases that I make. Due to the difficulty of returning any itens that I don't like or don't fit I have to be so very careful with what I buy. It's a hire and one if the very few downsides if living in Portugal rather than the UK.

Off to pickup my Portuguese passport. I am now a citizen/national of Portugal and so enjoy all EU rights. I started the process over 2 years ago but my patience has finally been rewarded.

Stravaig · 20/01/2025 11:57

@SaffyRosie That's exciting! Congratulations 🥳

Gedsmum · 20/01/2025 13:20

Hello Toast experts! I am a relatively new Toast customer and I have found all your sale item experiences very interesting. I am currently deliberating on the V-Neck Wool Wrap Cardigan style Code: WKNUW35 (I cannot work out how to post the link, sorry). The size information makes no sense. Does anyone already have one? I am a size 12 but not sure if I need S/M or the larger size. I would prefer a snug-ish fit. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Countmeout · 20/01/2025 13:49

My final sale purchase has arrived and been put straight in the packaging back to return. After my success with the Onyx dress I thought I’d try the same style in blue. It unfortunately reminded me of scrubs as soon as I took it out.

I hope there is something new soon . Everything seems very dull at the moment.
i think there’s a live in a couple of weeks.

@ScottishMouse there is a jacket like you posted on eBay.

OrangeyLemon · 20/01/2025 14:03

I think Royal Mail have lost my Billi painted daisy dress. The tracking says 'Delivered', but the photograph of the package sticking out of the letter box is not a brown paper envelope, and my partner has confirmed that is not a Toast parcel. I'm getting palpitations now- will Toast believe me when I tell them it's not been delivered? Surely they will see that it's not a Toast parcel in the photo?

IlovePond · 20/01/2025 14:25

@Stravaig - I agree with you - the summer 24 sale was pretty poor, but this one has been dismal! In summer 23 and winter 23, they had upwards of 900 women’s items in the sale on Day One, with more items added later. (That was definitely the case in the summer 23 sale as that is when I got my hands on Pond - it wasn’t in the first sale drop but came later!)

This one: No more than 450 items on Day One, (if that), and almost nothing from recent collections, (plus nothing I actually wanted, although that is, of course, subjective!)

The reductions weren’t that good either for the most part.

It’s the same sort of disappointment with KC following the removal of the sample rails - it’s just not the same going there nowadays 🙀

Re: Sale

My order of the smaller nightie has not yet been fulfilled, which is annoying as I want to return the stuff that came last week if that nightie doesn’t go better with the pj bottoms. (I wouldn’t keep the pjs on their own as I just want them peeping out under the nightie.)

I am a bit miffed that I left it too late to order the larger blue Donegal to try, (even though I am sure that wouldn’t fit right, either).

Oh well - better for my wallet, (or at least it will be once I have done my returns!)

@Gedsmum I’m afraid I don’t know what the fit is like on that one. In case no one who does know turns up in time, I reckon you’d be safest to order both sizes and return one. If I had to bet I’d go for S/M, but it will depend on the cut of that particular garment on your body.

PrincessofWells · 20/01/2025 15:21

@OrangeyLemon they were very good when a parcel was lost that I had delivered to my daughter. The parcel was marked delivered but where it was wasn't discernible from the photo. They just refunded in full with no problems at all.

OrangeyLemon · 20/01/2025 15:51

Thank you @PrincessofWells! That is very reassuring- I appreciate it!

Totally agree with this regarding sales. This one was very disappointing. What I'm finding is that a lot of things were not sold in the summer sale and were still full price all the way through winter and a lot of linen things that I don't feel are particularly good for winter.
I found i lost interest in anything I was hanging on for. I reckon the stuff that wasn't in this winter sale this time round will go the same way for me. As the weather gets better, I won't be interested in the dresses that I like now like the yellow ochre cord dress as for me it will be out of season.

IlovePond · 20/01/2025 18:44

@neveradullmoment99 - yes, I tried on the blue snood in October and told myself I would buy it in the sale, should it appear.

Despite the fact that it made me look like a 1960s toddler and that I already have too many woolly headgear items, I liked it, but not at full price!

Needless to say it didn’t go in the sale, but neither did much of anything else!

Instead, I just saw lots of unsold stuff from previous sales, quite a lot of which I had already tried and rejected due to their real life ghastliness, (looking at you, linen trousers in Puck😹)

PrincessofWells · 20/01/2025 19:22

Well the garment dyed trousers in M arrived. They are a good fit except the elastic is too tight in the waist. I am quite small waisted, but if I'd bought the large they would be much too baggy and roomy, so they're going back. I shall have a trip down to SM in a few weeks. There's a quilting and fabric exhibition at the American Museum I'd like to go to, so I'll combine the two. A perfect day 😃

TosstTastic · 20/01/2025 19:27

Even the great Toast sales of legend were distinctly hit and miss. That is the joy of the sale, the chance to try something a bit quirky, a bit off piste for the brand, a bit unsold.
It's hunting out the great dress for an hourglass that the model really couldn't fill. (Harlequin bias cut last sale but still available)
I've done very well in this sale but my wardrobe was incredibly minimal so I had a lot of gaps to fill and I wasn't looking for long sleeved knit wear.
I've now got two great summer jackets - the twill shirt and i loved the Cos style cotton raglan jacket once I'd supersized down. My comfort Kantha pinafore is my house lounge wear. No shirts worked so I went for the space tank which is just ace.
I'm tracking it all on the Whering app which has brought home how hard my day to day clothes work and is helping me resist the pull of the Bryn dresses, which I won't get to wear more than once or twice a year and no matter how reduced doesn't suit me.
I always love the sale, thanks to everyone flagging up the start and the restocks, my wardrobe salutes you as does the heavily utilised delivery services.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/01/2025 20:12

I'm a bit annoyed, I ordered the new crinkle trousers first thing Friday and they still haven’t been dispatched. I assume toast are finishing off sale orders first.

IlovePond · 20/01/2025 20:14

They haven’t my sale order from last week, either @Theteapotsbrokenspout 🙀

OP posts:
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/01/2025 20:35

Wonder what they’re up to then @IlovePond - they haven’t been restocking the sale either.

OftenOrange · 20/01/2025 21:17

Last hurrah, ordered space tank in both colours, the blue may be too small and the golden version is pretty bright….
The one I love most is the stripey one from current season which may not be in a sale until Summer when I’m away,

IlovePond · 20/01/2025 22:00

I know @Theteapotsbrokenspout - it’s weird!

My Toast tracked package had been left outside and the untracked package photographed for proof of delivery 🙄 Definitely not our usual postie! Anyway I was relieved that my precious Toast parcel hadn’t gone missing. The dress (Billi painted daisy) is lovely but only just fits. I’ve put on some weight since I’ve had to stop riding my bike due to a shoulder injury. Is it naive to think I’ll lose it again when I can get back on my bike?

PeonyBlush10 · 20/01/2025 22:41

Just thought I’d mention the merino wool wrap in case anyone is interested - reduced from £395 to £195 - it really is a very beautiful garment - the online photos don’t do it justice in my opinion. I tried it on in store and instantly fell in love with it. I’d never have bought it based on the photos alone. It really is a stand out piece in case any one is tempted.

Stravaig · 20/01/2025 22:57

@PeonyBlush10 Temptress! I agree, it looks stunning and exceptionally well-made. I'm hoping it reappears in ecru paired with a colour other than slate.

Haha, I haven’t been called a ‘temptress’ for some time !
It drapes very nicely too - there’s a manageable amount of fabric and it stays in place when you throw the end over your shoulder. It’s super soft too ( I promise I don’t work for Toast, just really like it and pleased I have it even I bought it full price ).

IlovePond · 21/01/2025 01:14

Only Toast would do a very small restock hours before the sale ends…1.15am🙀
