Husband does not do skincare. Is he alone in this?

Showers every day but washes his face when the shampoo runs down his face! 😆

Thats it. No moisturiser, nothing.

Anyone else?

My dh doesn't either. He's 55 and has nice skin though (doesn't smoke or drink much, gym regularly).

maldivemoment · 23/12/2024 09:54

Perhaps I’m actually slightly envious! 😆

Skin always soft. He’s 51.

My husband is exactly the same. Beautiful skin. I persuaded him once to wash his face and his skin broke out so he won't be persuaded again. Lucky thing!

kelsaycobbles · 23/12/2024 09:58

Neither me nor DH do anything beyond a wash in soap and water either ?

I have noticed in the last 10 years that men are being targeted by ads for stuff - assumed it was to grow the market rather than men suddenly needing the stuff.

Twinklelittlefart · 23/12/2024 09:59

Yup. DH uses nothing and rarely sunscreen if playing golf. He has perfect skin. It’s not fair.

DecayingRelic · 23/12/2024 09:59

No way, I do not know any man who does skin care

DH just washes in the shower with soap, that's it.

Not sure I would be attracted to a man who spend more time in the mirror than me!😅

Luminousalumnus · 23/12/2024 10:00

I've never known a man to do skin care other than a bit of suncream on holiday.

Arraminta · 23/12/2024 10:02

DH is the same. His routine comprises of shit, shower, shave. He has lovely olive toned skin and no wrinkles (he's 53).

WonderingWanda · 23/12/2024 10:04

Dh uses a face scrub but that's it other than shaving.

ThePoshUns · 23/12/2024 10:04

I've persuaded my DH to use moisturiser now and again.

FuckItItsFine · 23/12/2024 10:05

My DH doesn’t really do much but I noticed he had some dry flaky skin on his forehead so bought him some Simple moisturiser he uses when needed.

ShowOfHands · 23/12/2024 10:07

I use nothing. I wash with soap in the shower and that is it.

I have clear, smooth, hydrated skin. But I eat very healthily, exercise and have never touched alcohol. I don't wear make up either.

Squirrelsnut · 23/12/2024 10:09

I suspect 'doing almost nothing' is the regime many people's skin would prefer. Marketing is very powerful and insidious.

Fontainebleau007 · 23/12/2024 10:10

Nope, my DH absolutely nothing either apart from soap and water,

Edingril · 23/12/2024 10:11

I don't do it so idea why I would expect my husband to do

I wash my face and do the usual shampoo, deodorant, teeth things that is it same as my husband

9GreenBottles · 23/12/2024 10:13

DP has always had dry skin and used E45. He refuses to give this up in spite of his skin still being dry (and E45 not really being a moisturiser). I have now persuaded him to use rosehip oil too once a day. He still looks dry to my mind and the laughter lines round his eyes are definitely getting more wrinkly however he is in his 60’s.

user18368 · 23/12/2024 10:13

Makes you wonder if you need any of the stuff that goes on your face.

visitbreakfast · 23/12/2024 10:14

I do exactly as your DH

user18368 · 23/12/2024 10:15

Or does shaving your face make the skin better?

LoafofSellotape · 23/12/2024 10:16

My dh doesn't either but my son has more skin products than I do.

SwordBilledHummingbird · 23/12/2024 10:16

I don't actually know how DH washes his face but I suspect with shampoo run-off. He does moisturise from time to time but not daily. His skin is fine but he has noticeably more lines than I do despite being only two years older so I do think my SPF usage has made a difference even if nothing else has.

SirChenjins · 23/12/2024 10:16

DH and DS1 don’t either - both have great skin. DS2 is still at the spotty teenage stage but I imagine he’ll go the same way once he’s finished with the blemish washes and creams.

Hoppinggreen · 23/12/2024 10:18

DH does nothing other than shower daily and shave

oatmy · 23/12/2024 10:19

I do the same as your DH. Just use sun block in summer. My skin is fine, not dry at all.

Fizbosshoes · 23/12/2024 10:19

My skin care is a clearasil type cleanser, and wash my face with water. I don't moisturise and I'm pretty slack about using sunscreen (I have greasy skin and it is counter intuitive to put any creamy/greasy type of stuff on my face!)
DH uses moisturiser
