@MyStylish40s what's a fragrance enhancer?!! I've never heard of that

I think you’re meant to add it to other perfumes to enhance them. I didn’t know that was a thing either - I’ve just tried this one and it smells pretty nice on its own although quite masculine

I got another of their perfumes in a kit (debaser) so I’m planning to try them together later. Could be disastrous, could be amazing who knows

moogdroog · 24/12/2024 12:08

I quite like today's on it's own and looking forward to seeing what it might do to other scents (its a bit small though).
Seems to be largely Iso E Super (Molecule 01) which lifts other fragrances.
I've really enjoyed this calendar (and following this thread, sorry I lurked) though I think the balance could have been better - eye cream is an omission, I have no idea what I'm going to do with all the serum, and it's had too much hair stuff I can't use, but I bought my teens the Look Fantastic calendars, so there's been some good swaps.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 24/12/2024 12:24

Here's an online description of what the perfume does:

I Don’t Know What is a wonderful tool for anyone who wants to play around with perfume. Of course it can be worn as a modern wonderfully transparent aroma, but it can also be layered over anything. Often when I leave the house, I will wear a touch of sandalwood, rose, jasmine, patchouli, oud, etc. These oils are lovely but can be muddy and they don’t last more than a few hours. IDKW sprayed over them makes the oil into a PERFUME. It does this because it is made with no notes!
It is a secret combination of materials that perfumers use to highlight and enhance notes in a perfume. A Bergamot accord announces freshness, Vetiver Acetate a thin amber, Firsantol a lingering sandalwood, Iso E Super a radiance, and so on.
It is like a building with only structure—no interior. You can fill in the interior with an oil, a scent you like, even an old scent that has lost its way. IDKW is built to layer and enhance everything else it touches.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Final treat today, slightly strange choice for Christmas Day ( I'm sadly not doing Christmas anywhere remotely sunny, and feel wintry and dessicated 😂)

While I didn’t remember any of the contents I did remember that those who had already opened the calendar saying that the 25th was not exactly a big send-off so my expectations were low. I’ll try it at some point and am aware it gets rave reviews but I love my Korean sunscreen which doesn’t make my eyes run which all European ones do.

MyStylish40s · 25/12/2024 09:53

They should have kept one of the more luxury items for Christmas Day, but I think they are aware that people would prefer glittery eyeshadows and red lipsticks for socialising in December.

Merry Christmas everyone. I’ve enjoyed opening the calendar with you all

Ilikeyoursleeves · 25/12/2024 10:11

Happy Xmas everyone and thanks for the calendar chat!

Well whoever at Space NK decided to put a second suncream in day 25 needs firing! Now! I’m happy with the product but this is not a Xmas day item people!

Thanks so much for the list @Ilikeyoursleeves I just started to do a quick tally up and the items I’m really pleased with add up to several hundred pounds, so the calendar was definitely worth while and I think the best of the year despite a few DODs for me. The highlight was the Chantecaille blusher which I’ve been wearing every day.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 25/12/2024 15:10

I know! Todays was a bit weird and not really good for a UK climate this time of year!

My fave was the lipstick from Day 13 and I've also been wearing both the cream blusher and the Hourglass one. I have a TON of stuff over Dec as I also had a Gruum AC and the Boots Beauty Box! Tomorrow I am planning to go through it all at a leisurely pace as I've not really had a chance to yet, looking forward to trying it all although a few things will be given away.

Happy overall with my new immense stash 🥰

GailPlattsDeadHusband · 26/12/2024 08:54

I think this is my first post. I've been using my products since October. I absolutely loved the calendar. I've been reliving to be joy through your posting each day.

I've been using the CEO oil just before bed every night and my skin is glowing. I just finished the bottle and don't know if I should buy another straight away or try something else.

My highlight: ceo oil & hourglass blusher

Item that I don't know I needed: eyebrow gel

Duds: too hair heavy and the red lip colour. (Although I did manage to swap this with my sister for a perfume she got in her liberty calendar)

Item I'm most excited try: It's rather ridiculous, that at near 40 I didn't know there was special face suncream. I've just been slathering the kids on me and going makeupless on the sunny days.

WeAreBorg · 26/12/2024 10:25

Aah so sad to not have a door to open today!
I have loved this calendar, it’s been a real joy.
agree the Christmas Day door was random - Liberty got a candle/moisturiser doubler which sounded much better

Now I have to move on with my life and get used to not having a little gift every morning 😭

Defiantlynot41 · 26/12/2024 14:44

I agree @chloechloe , the Christmas Day offering was a bit of a dud!

First year of Space NK for me, usually get the JL one or Elemis. Mostly I've loved the items, a couple I've passed on to a young relative (the SdJ spray and the highlighter). Would have liked a candle or body/bath product and maybe an eyeliner, especially on the "bonus item" days, and Christmas Day ought to be more of a wow item.

Especially loved the blushers, lip balm & oil & lipstick and the Durga perfume (although full price is a bit £££, I love it and it really suits me), and the K18 mask has done wonders for my over bleached hair.

Will work my way through the serums and SPFs

Thelifeofawife · 12/01/2025 22:01

Hello all, hope you’re still enjoying your advent products! I’ve repurchased a few things already!

Has anyone used the Tacha serum stick yet? I’m still trying to decide whether it’s worth using, I feel like it would smear make up rather than refresh it

Gowlbag · 13/01/2025 19:55

The serum stick was a surprise hit for me. I use it under my eyes, after my eye cream has dried down a bit, and it really helps my concealer to go on smoothly and not crease. I can really see a difference on the days I forget to use it.
I don’t use it any other way as it doesn’t seem to make much difference to anything else.

Thelifeofawife · 13/01/2025 21:14

Thank you @Gowlbag
I was under the impression it was intended to be used to hydrate and freshen up during the day, but if it’s effective as part of the initial morning routine then I may give it a try as I do get creasing under my eyes

SaidItFromMyCoffin · 13/01/2025 23:23

Let me know how it goes, it’s in my can’t decide whether to sell or not pile!

I’m really loving the perfume and the lipstick. So much of this calendar has been a hit for me!

Thelifeofawife · 14/01/2025 00:16

I sold the lipstick early on but I also had the JL advent calendar which had a Mac lipstick in so I’ve been using that. I’ve not tried any of the perfumes yet (got in both calendars), I’m using up the last of a couple of old bottles first.

Ive been really pleased with a lot of the products, some I have put away as I don’t want too many open at once, but I’m excited to try them. It was my first time buying beauty ACs and I can’t believe what a bargain they have been, especially the Space NK one. I’m excited to see what this years brings!
