Can I join? I won’t mention what’s behind door number one, I don’t want to spoil the surprise but it’s a disappointing product for me. Mind you, I knew it was in the calendar and have someone eagerly awaiting it. I was hoping it would be mid way through the calendar instead of disappointment on day one though!

Morning! And so it begins - Today's item is the Sol De Janiero 62 perfume mist. It's not a product I'd purchase usually as I'm not a huge fan of sweet/gourmand smells but I've given it a spray and feel sort of festive anyway. The cat tried to eat the plastic wrapper which would have ruined the day somewhat, he's clearly a fan!

I think ok as we don't have no spoilers in the first thread and I know at least one member would prefer no spoilers before 7 am and that's sensible time even for early risers?

And sorry @Bloodywolves and @nearly61 yes please join and feel free to post about the days treats any time after 7am. Meant to have said that in the thread title.

That first spray looks and sounds lush.

I get how some people can be disappointed and I already have it in this size. For me this is fluffy, dressing gown type of scent that I like to put on after a bath or when I want to feel cozy. I literally spray it on my dressing gown. I much prefer it to nearly all other Rio De Janeiro body sprays and the perfume.

I am not disappointed, not most existing but certainly something that I would use and enjoy, or regift to my niece as she is a fan too.

My teen dd is gifting this one to her friend for Christmas, so we’re all happy.

I’m happy it’s not a bum bum cream. I think those are in most of the calendars this year.

Yeah I agree @MiaN personally I'm quite happy as I'd tried the ubiquitous Bum Bum cream but not the spray. But there are definitely more exciting things in the calendar - just none of us remember what they are...

My daughter is currently looking through all the boxes and periodically saying “ooooooh!” 😂

Ooh that looks gorgeous! I love the bum bum cream but the idea of spraying it lightly on my dressing gown is genius -it's such a comforting enveloping scent. Very jealous of you all -off to see if I can hunt down a bargain one in sales!!

Morning, I'm joining in! I've just opened door 1 and the spray looks interesting! Not opened it yet as I've just woken up but I'm going to use all the stuff this year and not 'save it up'. Will have a sniff after my shower ☺️

I’ve had space nk, liberty and cult beauty in the past. Cult beauty is normally my favourite tbh but this one made more sense for me to buy because there are enough things in it that I would be rebuying throughout the year anyway and spending almost the same amount as the whole calendar! I won’t say now so as not to spoil things for everyone who’s forgotten 😂
I’m not a fan of todays spray, too sickly for me but dd loves it so she’s got it now!

Can I join? I’ve opened and squirted - I like the cream, despite not normally being a fan of sweeter type smells, and the perfume is certainly growing on me. Liking the idea of it on pyjamas too (I tend to wear more, er, woody type perfumes normally.)

The SDJ wasn't a surprise for me today. It's not one I would personally use as a perfume, I like gourmand but for me it's very much a teen scent - probably because my teen loves the stuff. It's not awful but I think for the value they could have chosen a much nicer sample size of something else. Although maybe the SDJ was the pull for some to buy it?

I've set it asde for her birthday, so hopefully it'll still be popular then.

Does it smell like bum bum cream?

I’d already promised this to my daughter as she’d given me a ridiculously expensive Skinceuticals serum (which broke me out) that she received at a PR event.

It does smell delicious but it’s not really me anyway so I’m not sad to hand it over. She’s wafting round the house smelling like a cookie now.

I'm sharing it with my DD. We knew what the first one was. She was delighted with it. It's not for me.

Not tried this before - and it makes a nice change for the seemingly inevitable sdj product to not be Bum Bum. Quick spray and it is very sweet but I like gourmands. @MiaN ’s idea of having it as a cosy dressing gown type scent sounds ideal.

Both myself and DD who have the calendar were pleased with today’s opener - whilst it’s not something I’d go for it’s a quality product and i will use it

Hello! 👋🏼 I was sort of pleased with today's door. I've not really used anything from SDJ apart from the infamous Bum Bum cream - and only then when it's part of a gift with purchase or other advent calendars. It's a brand I'm interested in trying but wouldn't necessarily seek out. I don't mind the scent - I usually lean a little masculine, I'm happy to give this a whirl but don't think I would repurchase it.

Great excitement for the Advent Calendar opening! Very pleased with the Sol de Janeiro spray . Good start!

@SconesAreABreakfastFood out of interest which skinceuticals broke you out? I've just bought the P-Tiox one
