It's a bright red lipstick today! Well, not a lipstick but it looks like a lipgloss type applicator. I'm not sure if I'll keep this as I have a few bright red lipsticks already that I only wear about once a year... Has anyone tried it on yet?

Shayisgreat · 21/12/2024 08:27

Yesterday's was one of the creams I was looking forward to and I don't mind the lack of fragrance.

I really like today's lip/gloss. It is quite bright but it goes on lovely. I'm not sure how long lasting it will be though!

SaidItFromMyCoffin · 21/12/2024 08:39

Today is a definite no for me. I’ve tried one of their lip creams before and they don’t work for me. Hate the consistency. I do wear bright red occasionally but definitely wouldn’t wear it as a lip cream. A swap or sell item for me.

JudgeBurrito · 21/12/2024 09:24

I've used this already and it is amaaaazing. Goes on easily and dries matte, but I don't find it drying on my lips. Wore it to my work night out and it lasted really well even through eating and drinking. I did have to reapply a couple of times but that's to be expected. Definitely a glam night out shade (which is great for this time of year), but I liked it so much I'm considering buying a more subtle shade.

dottyaboutstripes · 21/12/2024 09:37

I was annoyed for a minute as I wore my brand new red glossier yesterday for the first time but it's a different one! Not sure it's for me but I'll try it. I have a dd who's mad for a red lip so it'll be hers if I'm not keen

bigdecisionstomake · 21/12/2024 09:38

Could anyone who is using/keeping this do a swatch photo please? I can't decide whether to give it a try or to put it on Vinted so obviously I don't want to open it if I'm going to sell it. Please and thank you 🙂

MargaretElsie · 21/12/2024 18:15

Badly applied, but here it is @bigdecisionstomake

I am not normally a strong lip colour person, I much prefer sheer, but this feels lovely on. Very silky! It makes me feel quite 1940’s!

Might need to work on my application skills though.

That seems to suit you. I feel I look like a cross between Cruella de Ville and Myra Hindley in bright red! 😂

bigdecisionstomake · 22/12/2024 08:18

Thank you @MargaretElsie I too am much more of a nude/sheer lip person but am really tempted to give this one a go. I think it suits your skin tone and mine is quite similar so I should be able to carry it off I think.

I am really happy about today's product. Controversially I love the AB Rich Cream and have some in my stash ready to be used so once I've finished the Drunk Elephant Whipped Cream I will use the AB serum and Rich Cream together to see if it magically gets rid of all my fine lines - I can travel in hope!

MargaretElsie · 22/12/2024 09:13

I think red lipstick looks so classic and has to be applied so accurately that I don’t generally find it easy to wear. I’d love to be able to carry it off, but like @AppleDumplingWithCustard said, often feel like a cross between Cruella de Ville and, well, maybe not Myra Hindley but I know what you mean. I still have the red Hourglass one from last year!

I will certainly try this one though, get me out of my comfort zone a bit.

WeAreBorg · 22/12/2024 09:24

I think we got a sample of this in a recent Liberty edit and if it’s the same one, it’s very nice.

I might have preferred a more equal serum:moisturiser ratio as we only got one? Maybe a wintry thick night cream for us perimenopausal folk

Ilikeyoursleeves · 22/12/2024 10:17

My first thought was 'another serum?!' but I LOVE the packaging and it looks very posh. I just checked the price...

£145?!!!

That's just mental. Will it make me into a glowing 20 year old again?? 🤣

Ilikeyoursleeves · 22/12/2024 10:24

So I don't normally have much of a skin routine and normally I'd use 'Simple' face wash, any moisturiser I had from previous AC's etc. I'm just wanting to check how I'll get through all this new lovely skin care!

Is it best to just use one serum (ie whatever I've opened first) til it runs out or do folk mix it up and use different ones on different days? Not sure if that matters or not.

It's cleanse, serum, moisturise, eye cream isn't it... am I missing anything or got that in the right order?

Where do folk apply serum and moisturiser? Just their face or do you also do your neck? If so how far do you go down??

Thanks for any tips!

Your order is right!

I bring the serum down on to my neck, just above collar bone. I like to use one at a time so I know which one is working/not working for me if that makes sense? When I turn into a glass skinned 20 year old I want to know which magical potion was the cause 😂.

Its hard not to try them all though, they all look really nice!

Ilikeyoursleeves · 22/12/2024 11:35

Thanks @DontBiteTheCat yes I thought it's prob best to work through one serum at a time to see what one is magic!

mrspk · 23/12/2024 06:30

There are so many serums, it does seem out of proportion. Won't need to buy any for a long time. The big thing missing for me is an eye cream but overall I'm happy with the contents.

Talisin · 23/12/2024 08:12

Colour Wow extra strength Dream Coat today. This is my real DoD as it’s totally not for my hair type. Will see if any friends want to fight the frizz.

Shayisgreat · 23/12/2024 10:15

Yes, an eyecream is missing. What a big oversight!

WeAreBorg · 23/12/2024 11:40

I have a massive stash of hair products now, will report back when I get round to this one in 2037

ive been using the glossier lip crème which is rather nice, seems to last well

SaidItFromMyCoffin · 23/12/2024 13:59

If anyone wants a second glossier lip crème in exchange for their Rare Beauty one let me know!

Today’s won’t be suitable for my hair so one to sell but a good size

MyStylish40s · 23/12/2024 14:10

I tried on the red glossier lip this morning, and I just don’t like it at all. It’s such a shame that I’ve used it, because I could have given it to someone.

I have loved the calendar.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 23/12/2024 18:38

I think the glossier lipstick is the only "bad" one for us. I'm not keen on Sol de Janeiro but as I'm sharing the calendar with DD it's fine.

I'd have liked another moisturiser.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 24/12/2024 07:59

It's a perfume today hooray! With a lovely scent too. It's called 'I don't know what' Never heard of it but I like it!

MyStylish40s · 24/12/2024 09:28

I didn’t have time to properly look at it this morning, but I remember from an unboxing video that it’s a fragrance enhancer?

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone Xmas Smile

WeAreBorg · 24/12/2024 09:36

Looking forward to trying this!
